Epson PM-400 Printer Setup (Windows)

Make sure your printer is NOT connected to your PC and download the Drivers and Utilities

Combo Package Installer here: www.epson.com/support/pm400downloads

Run the installer program. When you see the Select Your Connection screen, select Direct USB

connection and use your micro USB cable (included in kit) to connect. When the software

installation is complete, restart your computer.

Select ‘Devices and Printers’from the Windows Start Menu. Right click on the Epson PM-400

Series printer icon and select ‘Printing Preferences’. Make the following settings updates:

On the ‘Main’tab, and Document Size drop down, click on ‘User Dened’. Create a Paper Size

named ‘4x3 nametag’(or ‘4x6 nametag’ if you are printing that size).

Adjust the Paper Width to be 4.00”and the Paper Height to be 3.00” (or 6.00”). Click on Save

and OK. Select the new nametag on the Document Size dropdown. Orientation should be set

to ‘Portrait’. Paper Type should be set to ‘Plain Paper’. Quality can be either Standard or High.

Color should be set depending on if you are printing in full color or black & white (select

Black/Grayscale). Click on‘Apply’ then ‘OK’.

Ensure that the nametag paper is loaded in your PM-400 with landscape orientation for 4x3

nametags (Windows computers only—see reverse for Mac instructions) and portrait orienta-

tion for 4x6 nametags.

To download the template for printing your nametags, search for UEPM on www.pcnametag.

com. Click on the ‘Manual and Template’tab and download the‘4x3 nametag.doc’ or ‘4x6

nametag.doc’. Personalize and print your nametag in Microsoft Word.

Epson PM-400 Printer Setup (Mac)

Make sure your printer is NOT connected to your Mac and download the Drivers and Utilities

Combo Package Installer here: www.epson.com/support/pm400downloads

Open the ‘.dmg’ le that was downloaded. Follow the prompts of the Epson Installer program.

After the driver is installed, continue on with Printer Setup. When you see the Select Your

Connection screen, select Direct USB connection and when prompted, use your micro USB

cable (included in kit) to connect. Follow the remaining prompts of the Printer Setup and exit

the installer program. Restart your computer.

To download the template for printing your nametags, search for UEPM on www.pcnametag.

com. Click on the ‘Manual and Template’tab and download the‘4x3 nametag.doc’ or

‘4x6 nametag.doc’. Personalize and print your nametag in Microsoft Word.

Find and open the WORD template and personalize for printing. When personalization is

complete, follow these steps to begin printing.

Select ‘Page Setup’ from the File menu. Click the ‘Paper Size’drop-down menu and select

‘Manage Custom Sizes’. Click the ‘+’ button in the lower left corner of the window. Double

click on the name ‘Untitled’ and rename the item ‘4x3 Nametag’ or ‘4x6 Nametag’ depending

on what size you’ll be printing.

a. For 4x3 size nametags:

a. Set the Paper Width to be 3.00” and the Paper Height to 4.00”.

b. Select the portrait icon under ‘Orientation’

b. For 4x6 size nametags:

a. Set the paper width to 4.00” and the Paper Height to 6.00”.

b. Select the landscape icon under ‘Orientation’

The ‘Non-Printable Area’ should be User Dened, and each margin set to 0.00”. Click‘OK’.

Select ‘Print’ from the File menu. Ensure that the nametag paper is loaded in your PM-400

with portrait orientation and click ‘Print’.

Printing 2.25” x 3.5” size badges with the Epson PM-400 Printer

Ensure the badge paper is loaded into the printer like so:

Ensure that the printer driver is installed properly and that the printer is connected to your PC

with the provided USB cable.

Click on the Start Menu on your PC and then:

a. In Windows 7: Select “Devices & Printers” and right click on the Epson printer icon

b. In Windows 10: Select the gear icon above the Start Menu button, select “Devices”,

click on the Epson Printer, and then select “Manage”.

Then select “Printing Preferences”. On the “Main” tab, click on the “Document Size” dropdown

menu and select “User-Dened”.

The following window will pop up. Please match the settings shown in this screenshot and

click “Save” in the bottom left hand corner:

Click “OK” to return to the Printing Preferences window.

The “2.25x3.5” size should be selected in the “Document Size” menu, like below:

Select the “Landscape” orientation, and adjust any quality settings that you need.

Click “Apply” and“OK”. You should now be able to print with the 2.25x3.5 Word

template!
