Chapter 1 - Introdu tion

The Complete Fiber Solution

CERTIFIBER is the most advanced hand-held

certi ication tool or iber links, designed to

be the complete solution or pro essional

cable installers, service providers, and net-

work administrators.

With the push o a button, CERTIFIBER certi ies

two multimode ibers simultaneously at both

wavelengths.

Rather than just providing a number, CERTIFIBER

analyzes the iber link and determines

whether cabling and network standards are

met.

CERTIFIBER and CERTIFIBER REMOTE have an optical

source that provides a consistent calibrated

dual wavelength light. The level o light

injected into or emerging rom the iber

network can be measured at any point so

that the per ormance o iber optic transmis-

sion paths and equipment can be accessed

quickly and accurately.

CERTIFIBER measures the optical power and at

the same time veri ies the proper installation

and operation o various iber optic compo-

nents like iber optic hub modules, repeaters,

and adapter cards. By measuring signal loss

CERTIFIBER helps you to identi y aulty patch

cables, ailing splices, bad couplers and

connectors.
