INSTALATION
Requirements for optimum installation
REQUIREMENTS FOR AN OPTIMAL INSTALLATION
To obtain the maximal pe fo mance and the best esults, we ecommend installing
the balance acco ding to the following equi ements:
a) Install it on a fi m and stable su face.
b) Place it on a stable base f ee of vib ations.
c) Don´t expose it to di ect sunlight.
d) Don´t submit it to atmosphe es with co osive gases.
e) Keep it in an envi onment f ee of dust and di t.
f) Wo k at tempe atu es between 15º and 30º C.
g) Use the balance in envi onments with humidity lowe than 95% HR.
h) Keep the balance away f om equipment that p oduces magnetic and
acoustical inte fe ences
i) Calib ate it in its definitive location and check it egula ly with the optional
calib ation weight, if necessa y, ecalib ate it.
Unpacking
Unpack the balance ca efully. Inside the ca ton you will find the following
components:
1. This ope ation manual (please, ead it befo e to use the balance).
2. A balance, se ies STZ
3. A stainless steel pan
4. An AC/Adapto of 12 V / 800 mA; don´t use any othe adapto , it could damage
the balance.
VERY IMPORTANT: Keep the o iginal package. It could be useful in the futu e in
t anspo ting the balance.
INSTALLATION
Ope ating tempe atu e: 5ºC – 35ºC
Range of tempe atu e fluctuation: ≤2°C/h
Relative humidity: 50%-85%
1. Place the balance on a fi m and stable su face.
2. Connect the AC/Adapto
3. P ess the key to tu n on the balance, the display will show
“8.8.8.8.8.8”, the maximal capacity, “S—CAL” and finally “0.0” o “0.00”

4. To obtain maximal accu acy, befo e using the balance, we ecommend
keeping it tu ned on fo 10 minutes.

WEIGHT UNIT SELECTION
1. Keep the key p essed fo 3 minutes.
2. The message “Unit” will light.
3. P ess the key to confi m.
4. The message “Unit” will light again.
5. P ess the key to choose the desi ed weight unit.
6. To confi m, p ess the key.
TARE
This function allows obtaining the net weight of a p oduct.
1. With display showing ze o value, place a containe on the weighing pan.
2. P ess the key.
3. The balance will subt act the containe ´s weight, put the p oduct into the
containe and then ead the p oduct´s weight on the display (net weight).
To etu n to no mal weighing mode, emove the containe f om platte and p ess
the key.
PIECES COUNTING FUNCTION
1. P ess the key fo 3 seconds.
2. The display will show the message “Unit”
3. P ess again the key.
4. The display will show the message “Count”
5. P ess the to confi m.
6. The message “pcs” will appea on the display.
7. P ess the key.
8. Select the sample numbe f om “10pcs” to “500pcs”.
9. Put on the platte the quantity of pieces that co esponds to a selected value.
10. P ess the key.
11. The display will show “- - - - - -“ fo a few seconds.
12. The balance is eady to pe fom the counting of pieces.

The g eate quantity of pieces put in the initial sample, the g eate accu acy in
balance’s esults.
If the sample value is less than 0.2d, the display will show the message "no-Cou".
This means that the sample is too small; the efo e, you will need to add a g eate
sample.
PERCENTAGES FUNCTION (%)
1. Keep the key p essed fo 3 seconds.
2. P ess again the key twice.
3. The message “PER” will appea on the display.
4. P ess the key to confi m.
5. The display will show “100%”
6. Put on the platte an object conside ed as 100%.
7. P ess the key
8. Remove the object f om the weighing pan.
9. Place othe items and the balance will calculate the pe centage in ega d to
the default sample.
If the sample value is less than 0.2d, the display will show the message
"no-PER". This means that the sample is too small; the efo e, you will need to
add a g eate sample.
ACKLIGHT
P ess the key to activate o deactivate the inte nal backlight.
LOW ATTERY INDICATOR
If the batte y indicato is activated in the uppe left side on the display, this means
that the batte y is low. In this case, echa ge the batte y using the p ovided
adapto .

SPEED SELECTION
P ess the key fo 3 seconds to select the desi ed mode: SPEED 1 o
SPEED 2.
AUTO-ZERO FUNCTION
1. When the balance is Off, keep p essed the key and without eleasing
it, p ess the key until the sc een shows the message -Ze o-, now
elease both keys.
2. P ess and hold the key until the display shows the message “Ze o*d”
3. P ess again the key.
4. Select the desi ed option (f om 0 to 5)
-Ze o0d Auto-ze o function not activated.
-Ze o5d Auto-ze o function activated = 0.05g – 300.09g
0.05g – 600.09g
0.05g – 3000.09g
(Default value: Ze o5d)
AUTO-TARE FUNCTION
1. P ess the key, the display will show the message “-tA E-“
2. P ess the key, the display will show the message “tA E*d”
3. P ess the key twice.
4. Select the desi ed option (f om 0 to 9)
a. tA E0d - Auto-ta e function not activated.
b. tA E9d - Auto-ta e function activated. This means that when a weight
is placed on the weighing pan, the balance will ta e automatically its
weight.
(Default value: tA E9d)
5. P ess the key to confi m and save the configu ation. The balance will
etu n to no mal weighing mode “0.00”

CALI RATION
1. P ess the key fo 3 seconds.
2. The display will show “d3”
3. If you balance is the AHZ-300 model, p ess the key until the sc een
shows the message “d2”, then, the display will show “200g”. Put on the
weighing pan a calib ation weight of 200g.
4. If you balance is the AHZ-600 model, p ess the key until the sc een
shows the message “d5”, than, the display will show “500g”. Put on the
weighing pan a calib ation weight of 500 g.
5. If you balance is the AHZ-3000 model, p ess the key until the sc een
shows the message “d3”, the display will show “3000g”. Put on the weighing
pan a calib ation weight of 3000 g.
6. The display will show automatically “-CAL-“
7. The display´s eading will emain with the value of calib ation weight.
8. The calib ation p ocedu e has finished.
LINEARITY CALI RATION
1. P ess the key fo 3 seconds.
2. P ess again the key until the sc een shows the message “CAL---L”
3. If you balance is the AHZ-300 model, the display will show “100g”. Put on the
weighing pan a calib ation weight of 100g.
4. If you balance is the AHZ-600 model, the display will show “200g”. Put on the
weighing pan a calib ation weight of 200 g.
5. If you balance is the AHZ-3000 model, the display will show “1000g”. Put on
the weighing pan a calib ation weight of 1000 g.
6. The display will show automatically “-CAL-“
7. The display´s eading will emain with the value of calib ation weight.
8. The calib ation p ocedu e has finished.
PRINTER FUNCTION
By using the RS-232C output, connect the optional p inte .
P ess the key to p int displayed data.
PRINT CONFIGURATION
Mode 1 “hAnd” - By p essing the key, the p inte p ints the t ansmitted
data

Mode 2 “Auto” – The data will be t ansmitted automatically when the weight
placed on the pan is > 3d and the display eading is stable.
Mode 3 “Contin” – The data is continuously t ansmitted to the p inte .

3. P ess the th ee times.
4. The display will show the message “P t”
5. P ess the to confi m.
6. The display will show the message “hAnd”
7. P ess the key to select the desi ed mode: “hAnd”, “Auto" and “Contin”
8. P ess the key to confi m the selected mode.

GUARANTEE
This balance is gua anteed fo one yea f om the delive y date. The gua antee
cove s any fab ication defect of the mate ial.
Du ing this pe iod, GRAM PRECISION cove s the manpowe and spa e pa ts
costs fo the epa ation of the scale.
This gua antee does not cove the failu es caused by an inapp op iate use o
ove load.
The guarantee does not cover the freight cost (transport) necessary to repair
the balance.

INSTALACION
Requisitos para una óptima instalación
Pa a obtene el máximo endimiento y los mejo es esultados, ecomendamos
instala la balanza de acue do con los siguientes equisitos:
a) Instala la en una supe ficie plana.
b) Apoya la en una base estable y exenta de vib aciones.
c) No expone la a la luz sola di ecta.
d) No somete la a atmósfe as con gases co osivos.
e) Mantene la en ambientes lib es de polvo o suciedad.
f) T abaja a tempe atu as ent e 15º y 30º C.
g) Utiliza la en ambientes con una humedad infe io a un 95% HR.
h) Mantene la lejos de equipos que p oduzcan cualquie inte fe encia
magnética o acústica.
i) Calib a la en su emplazamiento definitivo, y comp oba la pe iódicamente con
la pesa de calib ación opcional; si fue a necesa io, calib a la.
Desembalaje
Desembala la balanza con cuidado. En el inte io de la caja encont a á los
siguientes componentes:
1. Este manual de inst ucciones (léalo atentamente antes de utiliza la
balanza).
2. Esta balanza.
3. Plato de la balanza.
4. El Alimentado de co iente standa d .
MUY IMPORTANTE : No deshace se del embalaje, puede se útil en el futu o si fue a necesa io
t anspo ta la balanza.
PUESTA EN MARCHA
Tempe atu a de t abajo: 5ºC – 35ºC
Rango de fluctuación de la tempe atu a: ≤2°C/h
Humedad elativa: 50%-85%
5. Coloca la balanza en su emplazamiento definitivo, que debe se una
supe ficie plana, no metálica, lo más estable y ígida posible
6. Conecta el alimentado a la toma de ed
7. Pulsa la tecla de encendido , el display most a á “8.8.8.8.8.8”, “la
capacidad máxima ”, “S—CAL” y finalmente “0.0” ó “0.00”
