1.02 Purpose and use
Purpose
LP11 - Side Exit is a mobile lifting platform with a side exit specically concei-
ved for the narrow environments that can be used to negotiate height differen-
ces between a platform and a train. It is designed to lift wheelchair users and
other persons with impaired mobility where the support is plane and stable.
LP11 is also suitable for those places with height differences where a mobile
lifting platform is the preferred option for meeting the need for lifting of wheel-
chairs, e.g. podiums, stages etc.
Prerequisite
The LP11 - Side Exit lifting platform must not be used before reading this
manual.
Use
The lifting platform is intended to lift persons with impaired mobility – and is
not for transport.
The platform is intended to be used parraell with the train.
1.03 Important/warnings
• The lifting platform’s recommended load of 300 kg must not be exceeded.
• The lifting platform may only be used to lift persons with impaired mobility.
• The lifting platform may only be used on an even surface.
• Always brake the lifting platform on lifting and lowering.
• During use persons must not stand immediately adjacent to the lifting platform.
• Do not run into people or objects with the lifting platform.
• The platform must be lowered to its lowest position when being moved.
• The train must be stationary when the lifting platform is in use.

1.04 Unpacking and preparation
Visual control
If the packaging is damaged, the lifting platform must be examined carefully
for visible lopsidedness, defects and deciencies. If the platform is thought
to be damaged, it must not be used until quality service technicians or the
Guldmann Service Team have approved it.
Preparation
The lifting platform must be charged. See Point 2.05 concerning charging.

2.02 Operation
Prior to use
1. Unlock the brake pedal,
which is located on the
undercarriage under the
ramp, with a key.
2. The battery box is
located on the under-
carriage on the right
(seen from the up ramp
end).
• Unlock the lid on the
battery box.
• The emergency stop is
deactivated by turning
the knob until it pops out.
3. The lift is now ready for use.
Lifting from platform to train
1. The lifting platform should be placed with the
side as close as possible to the point where the
wheelchair leaves the ground.
2. Brake the lifting platform by pressing the brake
using your foot.
3. Unlock and tip the up ramp down onto the
platform after which the wheelchair user can
move up onto the platform. This should take
place at low speed – no run-ups.
4. Tip up the up ramp and lock it. Use the help
strap, if needed.

5. Use the operation panel to raise and lower the
platform.
6. Raise the lifting platform to the height of the
door to the train. Adjust the width of the ramp
and tip the ramp down. The whole of the width
of the ramp should be supported.
Driving from the lifting platform into the train
can now take place easily and safely.
If LP11 - Side Exit stops and starts beeping,
this indicates that LP11 - Side Exit is overloa-
ded. After the overload has been removed, the
platform can operate again.
7. After use both ramps must be tipped upwards and locked and the lifting
platform must be in its lowest position before it is moved. No persons/objects
must be under the platform when it is lowered.

carriage under the up
ramp.
2. Press the emergency
stop in the battery box.
3. The lifting platform is
now locked.
Lifting from the train to the platform
Lifting from the train to
the platform takes place
in reverse order to from
the platform to the train.

lowered, make sure that
no persons/objects are
under the platform.
2.03 Brakes

2.04 Safety features
Important!
The emergency stop has two features:
• As cutout when the lift is not in use.
• As emergency stop where it must only be used for functional errors/in
emergencies. For functional errors/breakdowns the supplier must be
contacted before the lifting platform is reused.
The emergency stop
in the battery box is
located on the under-
carriage on the right
side (seen from the up
ramp end).
Description of emergency stop
If the lifting platform does not react to the operational functions when the
lifting platform is moving – press the emergency stop.
When the emergency stop is activated, all the lifting platform’s electrical
functions are deactivated.
Description of safety jam strip
Between the platform and undercarriage there is a safety jam strip which
prevents risk of jamming. Check that there are no objects/hindrances under
the platform. If the safety jam strip is activated during descent, the platform
will automatically stop the descent. The platform can only descend when the
operations button has been activated – this means that the platform rst
needs to be raised slightly before it can be lowered again. If the safety jam
strip is activated when the platform is stationary, the platform will stay in its
stationary position. The platform works again when the operations button
is activated.
Description of emergency lowering
It is possible to operate the lifting platform if the
operations panel fails.
In the battery box which is located on the under-
carriage on the right (seen from the up ramp end)
there is a box containing the emergency lowering
device as well as up/down buttons. To operate the
emergency lowering device the button must
be activated.

Description of emergency lowering in case
of electrical wiring brake down
WARNING: Risk of injury. Never stay underneath the platform when
preforming emergency lowering.
This procedure will bypass all safety installations.
The platform will run until the battery is dismounted again.
Please pay attention to operator safety by performing this procedure.
For this procedure you will need a emergency
lowering cable and a TORX 25 key.
Uninstall the cover at the top of the actuator by
using a TORX 25 key and move the cover up
along the actuator.
It is important to follow this procedure in the
right sequence: Install the emergency lowering
cable at the top of the actuator.
After installing the emergency lowering cable in
the actuator then install other end of emergen-
cy lowering cable in battery. The platform will
drive down instantly when connected to battery.

2.05 Charging/connection of charger
When the lifting platform is not in use, it should be charged as the batteries
are best maintained in this way.
The batteries should immediately be charged in the event of an audio signal
as this means that the battery level is critically low.
Connecting the charger
The platform is charged
using the socket on the
battery box.
Connect the charger
to the mains. Put the
charger’s other plug in
the battery box’s socket.
The charger must only
be used in dry conditions.
The battery box can be disassembled. The connector can be taken out by
pressing the red lock ratchet.
Charging
An audio signal will sound when the battery level is critically low. Take out
the battery and move it to a dry location near a mains socket where it can be
charged. Charge the lifting platform every night or when it is not in use. In this
way the batteries are best maintained and will last the longest. The charger
switches off automatically when the lifting platform is fully charged. The maxi-
mum charging time is approx. 8 hours.
If the green indicator light is lit, the batteries are fully charged. If the red
indicator is lit, the battery is charging.
3.00 Transport
The lifting platform is equipped with wheels and can be pushed. The brake
pedal must be disconnected – see Section 2.02, if required. The lifting plat-
form must be in its lowest position before it is removed.
The battery box can be removed and transported separately.
