or computers with aCD ROM disk driv

e installed.)

The CD R

OM mass storage system is certied as a Class 1laser pro duct

under the U.S. Departmen

tof Health and Human services (DHHS) Radiation

erformance Standard according to the

adiation Contr

This means that the mass storage system does not pro duce hazardous

laser radiation. Since laser ligh

temitted inside the mass storage system is

completely conned within protectivehousings and external co

yphase of user operation.

arning

Use of controls, adjustments, or performing procedures

different from those specified in this manual mayresult in

hazardous invisible laser radiation exposure. None of the

mechanisms within the mass storage system contain customer

or field-replaceable parts.

The CD ROM driv

ebecomes aClass 3B laser mechanism

when disassembled. If the CD ROM driv

eis disassembled,

exposure to the invisible laser beam and hazardous invisible

laser radiation could result in blindness.

Do NOT disassemble

the CD R

OM drive for any r

ason.
