Repair Work Safety and Safety Checks
When performing any servicing, basic safety precautions should always
be followed, including the following:
(1) Be careful of high temperature sections.
Do not touch the lamp immediately after it has been used. It will be extremely hot.

-ii-
(2) Observe cautions.
Some parts require careful handling at the time of servicing.
Cautions about these parts are indicated in the labels or by marking on the cabinet, chassis,
or parts. Be sure to observe these cautions and cautions in the Instruction Manual.
(3) Be careful of electrical shock.
When the power is turned on and maintenance service is performed with the cover
removed, be sure to wear a pair of gloves. Be sure to disconnect the plug when replacing
parts.
(4) Use specified parts only.
Parts used in this product are selected from safety point of view, such as of inflammable or
voltage resistant characteristics. Therefore, use only specified parts for replacement.
(5) Put parts and wirings back after servicing.
Some parts make use of insulation materials such as tubing and tape for the sake of safety.
Some other parts are mounted in a floated state from the PCB.
In addition, internal wiring is laid properly by clamp or the like to avoid contact with
heating parts and high-voltage parts.
Be sure to put them back as before.
(6) Perform safety check after servicing.
Check that screws, parts, and wiring removed for servicing are put back in position.
Check that other components have not been damaged during servicing.
Check insulation between an external metallic sectionsand the blade of the plug before the
power is turned on.

-iii-
How to perform insulation check
Unplug the equipment from the outlet and disconnect all the wires and cables connected to
the equipment. Then, check that the insulation resistance between each plug and the
externally exposed metallic sections(Note) of respective terminals is 10 MΩor larger, using
a 500V insulation resistance meter.
Note)Externally exposed metallic sections: VIDEO input terminal, S-VIDEO input
terminal, PC input terminal, test terminal
