Package Contents
Item Quantity Note
Tray for bottles 2 Each tray holds 4 bottles: 3 are used for inks and
1 for the Flushing Solution (solvent).
Bottles 8
1-liter bottles that will hold the ink.
Cartridge 7
6 cartridges are required for installation and 1
will remain spare. These are permanent
cartridges that are designed for long-term
operation without removing from printer.
Electronic control device 2 Devices are to be connected to a printer and
installed on both sides of it.
12-Volt cable 1 This cable provides power for the pumps. It
connects to a connector at a heater control
boards and distributes the 12VDC to both
electronic boxes.
M4 screw 2 These screws are used to attach the nylon ties to
the printer.
Nylon tie 2 The ties will be used to organize the ink lines
coming from the cartridges.
Magnetic latch 2 You will use these latches in order for the printer
to be able to work without the ink covers.
4-way adapter 2 This adapter is used to connect all ink lines from
cartridges to the bottle with the Flush.
Installation of this bulk system must
be carried out by a technician or a
technically capable person.

Transferring the Ink Chips
Remove original cartridges from your printer.
Open the cartridges of the Bulk System.
Transfer the Ink Chips from your original cartridges to the cartridges of this bulk system.
If the bulk system’s cartridges do not have any color tabs removed, you should do so
when you have transferred chips. Each chip must be valid, with at least 20% of ink level
left on it. Lower level may cause RIP software to show warning messages of low ink.
Installing the Electronic Control Devices
Each of the two electronic devices
supplied with Pro-CP2 bulk system
has a wide ribbon cable terminated
with 4 boards and one 2-pin
connector for the 12-volt power.
Two of the boards are shrink-
wrapped – they go to the pumps
compartment. The other two
boards will be connected to the ink
level sensors of the secondary
tanks (ink bags).
Remove the covers from the
printer:
- covers over the secondary
tanks on both sides;
- covers over ink pumps on
both sides;
- covers with holes for air exhaust.
Route the ribbon cable ends designated for ink level sensor connection, into the ink level
sensor area. The other ends must go into the area of the ink pumps.
The square boards for ink level sensor connections have 9-pin and 10-pin receptacles (at
the bottom, not visible on the picture above).
Connect these receptacles to the panel-mounted white headers. Connect the Seiko
receptacles to the white connectors on top of the boards. You cannot mistake because the
left connector is 10-pin and the right one is 9-pin.
You may need to cut the nylon tie around the ink tubing if it interferes with the
installation of the right board.

The ribbon cable ends with shrink-wrapped boards must be connected to the connectors
from the ink pumps and ink pump revolution sensors. See pictures for details.

Installing the 12-Volt Power Cable
Pro-CP2 system is using 12 volts to power the ink pumps. Pumps will operate quieter
because normally they are driven by 24 volts by Seiko.
Remove the 6-pin connector at the heater control panel (see picture).
Insert the 12V Power Cable supplied with the bulk system, between the panel and the 6-
pin connector:

Run the 12V Power Cable into the compartment with the ink pumps and connect one of its
2-pin connectors to the 2-pin connector of the Electronic Control Device.
Run the Power Cable to the other side of the printer and use the SCSI cable holders:

Finally, connect the 2-pin connector at the end of this cable, to the 2-pin connector of the
Electronic Device.
Now you can close all covers and
mount the Electronic Control Devices
on the sides of the covers as shown
on this picture. You may want to
mount it higher or lower to your
preference.
Use Velcro strips on the back of the
device. Arrange the ribbon cable like
shown on this picture. You may want
to use pieces of double-sided
adhesive tape to organize it.

Installing the Trays
Remove all cartridges from the printer.
Remove the Left and the Right ink covers
(the plastic covers over the cartridge
area). Each cover is held by 2 brackets.
It is enough to remove one of the
brackets to be able to take the covers
off. We won’t use them unless you decide
to switch back to one-time cartridges.
Trays are equipped with hooks that allow
them to be hung on the side of the
Colorpainter.
Hang the trays on both sides of your
printer.
Orient the bottles so that the fitting
would be turned towards the printer wall.
This way the ink lines won’t be on your
way when filling the bottles with ink.
When you are going to pull one of the bottles
out of the tray, you must hold down the other
bottle(s) or otherwise you may lift the whole
tray and the hooks may slide off the printer
causing the tray to fall.

Installing the Cartridges
You have received 7 cartridges with your bulk system. 6 are required for installation and
one remains spare. When needed, you can set it up to work in the color of your choice.
Just clip off one of the 6 tabs on the side of it.
Insert the 6 bulk system cartridges fully into the printer.
The cartridges shown on these pictures are from Pro-CP system. You will have no cut-outs
on your cartridges.
Use a nylon tie and an M4 screw to organize the ink lines as shown here. You will have to
remove an original screw and replace it with ours.
Connect the fittings on the ink lines to the bottles.
Always make sure that the fittings on the ink lines are
firmly connected to the fittings on the ink bottles. This is
crucial for system operation. A loose connection may
cause the air sucking in the ink lines with many
unwanted consequences.
