1. INTRODUCTION
The manual you have is a guide to install correctly and make the start-up of the LEVEL ITW
range. These equipments are specially designed for the wireless Remote Control and
teleprocessing. FM frequency and 2-GFSK codification are used for the radio transmission.
The most advanced technology and the latest generation of microprocessors have been
incorporated in the electronic design, which allows a total safety of use.
The range of LEVEL ITW systems are operating in the UHF band using the frequencies
406MHz and 411MHz or in the frequency band 869MHz with 500 mW (p.r.a.) of maximum
apparent radiated power and 25KHz of channelling (optionally 12,5KHz of channelling)
The ITW LEVEL range is composed by the following sets:
•
ITW 4 LEVEL of 4 digital signals
•
ITW 8 LEVEL of 8 digital
•
ITW 4A 4D LEVEL of 4 digital and 4 analogical signals
•
ITW 4A 4D LEVEL of 8 digital and 4 analogical signals
230Vac power supply and optionally at 12Vdc

2. GENERAL RULES OF LEVEL ITW SET
The ITW LEVEL sets are composed by the following parts.
•
1 Transmitter.
•
1 Receiver.
•
2 Antennas with their connectors (they can be different).
•
1 User Manual in the web www.itowa.com
2.1. OPERATION
The general operation of the LEVEL ITW sets is the following: each time a change of state of
any of the digital inputs of the transmitter takes place, this variation is wireless transmitted to
the receiver to activate /deactivate the relay output corresponding to that input, that means,
the digital input nº 1 corresponds to the relay output nº 1, the input nº 2 with the relay output
nº 2 and thus to complete all the signals.
In models with analogical signals, in each transmission the value of the analogical signals is
refreshed, due the variation of them is not being sent continuously.
In addition, every 5 minutes the transmitter sends the status of the inputs to refresh the
information to the receiver and check the communications.
.
2.1.1. DIGITAL LEVEL ITW OPERATION
The DIGITAL LEVEL ITW has some led to indicate the status of the corresponding inputs or
outputs, as well as a possible communication failure, and the correct performance of the link
and the power supply.

2.1.2. DIGITAL/ANALOGICAL LEVEL ITW OPERATION
The DIGITAL/ANALOGICAL LEVEL ITW has a LCD screen where different informative
messages are shown sequentially. To get the different messages, you have to press the green
button.
When the device is connected the following messages appear:
Display the Model and Type of set.
Equipment code and Frequency band
Equipment code and Work channel
Status of the digital inputs (in the TRANSMITTER)
The status change of the inputs is not automatically refreshed in the LCD message if
it is already on the screen. To refresh the information a new display sequence must
be performed.
Value of the analogical inputs (in the TRANSMITTER)
The value of the inputs is not automatically refreshed in the LCD message if it is
already on the screen. To refresh the information a new display sequence must be
performed.

Status of the relays (in the RECEIVER)
The status change of the outputs is not automatically refreshed in the LCD message
if it is already on the screen. To refresh the information a new display sequence
must be performed.
Value of the analogical outputs (in the RECEIVER)
The value of the outputs is not automatically refreshed in the LCD message if it is
already on the screen. To refresh the information a new display sequence must be
performed
ERROR messages:
o ANALOGICAL INPUT OR OUTPUT NOT CONNECTED OR BELOW RANGE
An analogical input or output not connected or below the set range is
displayed as "-0%"
o ANALOGICAL INPUT OR OUTPUT ABOVE RANGE
An analogical input or output with a value over the set maximum is displayed
as "+ 100%". As security, the circuit of control of the system limits the discrete
value of the signal to the maximum value established.
o BROKEN CABLE
When a broken wire is detected in one of the outputs.
o COMMUNICATION FAILURE

2.2. LEVEL ITW TRANSMITTERS
The transmitter function is to transmit any variation in the state of the digital inputs, and time
to time send a signal with the current state of the digital and/or analogical inputs to refresh the
information to the receiver, on this way it is also verified there is not communication failure
between the equipments.
2.2.1. INSTALLATION OF THE TRANSMITTER
NOTICE: BEFORE ANY HANDLING, CHECK THAT THE EQUIPMENT IS NOT
CONNECTED TO THE NET NOR HAS ANY VOLTAGE, OTHERWISE MUST BE
DISCONNECTED.
The equipment is designed to get an easy and quick installation.
It is recommended to install the equipment in a place protected from the inclemency of the
weather, as well as to put it in a fix place. To facilitate this operation we are supplying the
equipment with some holes that allow fixing it to a wall or at any other element with screws
and studs.
NOTICE: WHEN RAISING THE TOP, BE SPECIALLY CAREFUL WITH THE
CONNECTION HOSE OF THE MOTHER BOARD TO THE DISPLAY CIRCUIT
(LEDS OR LCD SCREEN)
2.2.2. CONNECTIONS OF THE LEVEL ITW TRANSMITTER
The outputs of the elements and / or measuring instruments must be connected to the
transmitter inputs, such as: buoys, alarms, magneto thermal jumps, stop / start confirmation,
etc.
To facilitate the connection of these signals to the circuitry of the equipment, there are various
terminals for this purpose, also in the following pages are attached the wiring diagrams of the
equipments.
For models with analogical inputs, the value of the analogical inputs is configured on the
factory with one of the following ranges: 0-20mA / 4-20mA / 0-5V / 0-10V, but depending on
the model it can be changed through the jumpers of the following table.
Input
Input type Analogical 1 Analogical 2 Analogical 3 Analogical 4
0 - 10Vdc -- -- -- --
0 - 5Vdc J5 J6 J7 J8
0 – 20mA J1 – J5 J2 – J6 J3 – J7 J4 – J8
