The Larson Electronics EPF-30-PM-EYM-25-EPP Explosion Proof Circular Fan redirects and circulates air within
hazardous locations. This explosion proof fan meets UL standards for hazardous areas and provides a high 8,723 CFM
output for effective airflow in larger spaces.
WIRING
This explosion proof fan is equipped with 25 foot of 16/3 chemical and abrasion resistant SOOW cord that is fitted with an
explosion proof cord cap for easy connection to explosion proof outlets. Plug options include a 5-15 15 amp straight blade
plug for use with 120V explosion proof outlets, a 5-20 20 amp straight blade plug for use with 120V explosion proof outlets,
or a 6-20 20 amp straight blade plug for use with 220-240V explosion proof outlets.
We strongly encourage a licensed electrician install this product,in all locations especially in outdoor areas
where weatherproofing may be required. Universal voltage driver permits operation at 115V or 230V AC.
Warning: Check product label for correct input voltage!
Attach supply line wires to the appropriate light fixture wires as shown in the wiring diagram.
Secure each pair of wires according to the diagram. Utilize a junction box or similar device and take
precautionary steps for weatherproofing all connections if installed in a location where water may come in contact
with the unit. Ensure the unit is properly grounded and that wiring is done according to all local and national electrical/
building codes.

WIRE DIAGRAM
ALL ELECTRICAL WORK SHOULD BE PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
Be sure the voltage and cycles shown on the motor nameplate correspond to the power supply. Check product
nameplate for Ratings and Approvals. This fan is rated for single phase 115V or 230V AC 60Hz operation.
Refer to the diagram below, also located inside the terminal box cover or on the nameplate. BE SURE TO
CONNECT FOR THE VOLTAGE, FREQUENCY AND PHASE TO BE USED.
Before activating fan, inspect to be sure
that there are no obstructions or debris
that would interfere with the propeller.
Check all fasteners for tightness.
Exp Cord Cap
Position device near work area for operation. Run cable to nearby power
source. Insert and twist-lock explosion-proof plug into a compatible receptacle within
the hazardous environment. See plug operation below.
PLUG OPERATION
Electrical connection between plug and compatible receptacle is accomplished
after plug fully inserts into receptacle and rotated clockwise.
1. Lift receptacle door and locate polarization on mating plug pin and receptacle face. Insert plug straight
all the way into receptacle until it cannot go further.
2. Rotate plug clockwise limit (37º), this closes internal contacts and completes circuit. This also
mechanically locks plug into receptacle so it cannot be pulled out.
3. To remove plug, push plug inward and turn to counterclockwise, pull plug straight out.

MOUNTING
The fan includes the mount chosen upon purchase, pre-installed from factory.
Place the fan in the desired location and run power to the unit. A sturdy surface or pole mount should be
prepared and capable of handling its weight. Ensure all safety requirements are followed for the hazardous
area.
The fan head can be adjusted by loosening the two bolts near the adjustment point. Tighten the bolts once the
desired tilt is achieved.
LUBRICATION
This motor is equipped with pre-lubricated ball bearings. The original supply of lubricant is kept free of dirt, grit
or outside contamination by the bearing closures and does not require replenishment for the life of the bearing
under normal operating conditions.
MAINTENANCE
It is recommended that you implement a standard monthly or more frequent preventive maintenance schedule.
Safety requires a thorough visual examination of the unit for physical damage that might cause a spark or
result in the ignition of hazardous atmospheres.
Maintenance includes a careful examination to ensure at least:
A. The Cable is not frayed and is gripping tightly in all points of cable contact.
B. The Cable Jacket is completely intact and that no internal conductors or conductor insulation
is exposed.
C. The Connection Box is not cracked, broken or breeched.
D. The Cord Plug is not cracked or damaged and the Ground Post is intact.
Keeping blades clean and free of material splatter, overspray, and debris during usage will ensure the
maximum life of the fan. An accumulation of dirt may cause blade vibration and motor overload. Occasionally
check tightness of blade set screws.
NOTE: Handle the propeller carefully as it is factory balanced and aligned to ensure smooth operation.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Refer to the guide below or contact the manufacturer if the fixture does not function properly.
Is the correct line voltage being supplied?
Is the fan properly grounded?
Make sure installed power switch is functioning properly (if applicable).
USE AND CARE
Unauthorized modification may impair the function and/or safety of this device and could affect the life of the equipment.
Always check for damaged or worn out parts before using the device. Store it in a secure place out of the reach of
children when not in use.Inspect for good working condition prior to storage and before re-use.
REPLACEMENT PARTS
The EPF-30-PM-EYM-25-EPP is designed to provide years of reliable performance. Should the need for replacement
parts arise, please contact Larson Electronics.
