RCL360-LED-40

INTRODUCTION

Encased in a durable hard anodized aluminum and stainless steel housing with high power LEDs and

patented optics and electronic technology, this searchlight produces concentrated, high intensity and

focus-adjustable brilliant light beams up to 3,888’. These light function under the most severe and

harsh conditions. This versatile searchlight is suitable in a wide range of applications including search,

rescue, riot control, firefighting, military, border patrol, marine, vehicles, planes, drones, airport,

seaports, transportation stations, public areas, jails, sports and any outdoor activities.

These searchlights are available in 40W and 80W models. Constant current voltage technology

optimizes power from any rechargeable battery for extended portable use and ensures light beam to

remain steady regardless of battery discharging status. For example, a 24V 26AH rechargeable battery

can power a 40W light continuously at regular intensity for up to 60 hours. This light may also be

powered directly by an optional 110/220 VAC to 12/24 VDC converter. An optional adapter cable is

available to connect these searchlights to cigarette lighter sockets of automobiles. A specially coated

telescope grade lenses project even illuminating and focus-adjustable light beams suitable for both

long distance illumination at minimum beam angle (spot mode) or near-field peripheral illumination at

a wider beam angle (flood mode).

Two groups of multiple lights can be controlled by a single handheld wireless remote control. The

controller can change the light beam angle and cycle operation modes through: Steady Light –Strobe –

SOS. The remote control can also control the panning and tilting of the light. With the pan-tilt, the

searchlight can be controlled to cover surrounding space in all hemispherical directions. The wireless

operation does not interfere with other wireless applications. IPX6 waterproof rating keeps out

moisture and dirt.

CAUTION

Read this instruction manual before using the searchlight to avoid accidental damage to the

light. If unusual situations arise during normal use, disconnect the power source immediately

and contact the dealer for help.

These lights are maintenance free. Pay attention to the power indicator light on the remote

control. If the red indicator light beneath the “Remote Control Power Switch” starts to blink,

the built-in battery should be recharged.

The cigarette lighter adapter cable should be used with the cigarette lighter power outlet. If

generic cable is used and the power rating is not high enough, the cable may be over heated

and cause a fire.

The protective glass on this searchlight is tempered and multi-coated for higher light

transmission rate. Avoid hitting the glass with any object and keep the glass clean for better

performance.

The operating temperature of this light is between -20°C and +45°C. Pay special attention to

the normal functioning of the light when it is used in extreme high or low temperatures beyond

that range.

The magnetic mount can withstand wind speed up to 60 mph. We DO NOT recommend

operating a magnetically mounted light on any object that may move at a high speed.

STROBE WARNING

Exposure to strobe lights may cause dizziness, disorientation, and nausea. A small percentage of people

suffer from photosensitive epilepsy, and may experience seizures or blackouts triggered by strobe

lights. Anyone who has had symptoms linked to this condition should consult a doctor before using this

product.

BRIGHT LIGHT WARNING

This light has super high intensity and concentrated illuminating power and can cause short-term to

long-term eye damage if looking directly into the light. To avoid eye damage, never point the light

beam at the eyes of any person or animal.

POWERING THE LIGHT

Cigarette Lighter

Connect the waterproof connector of a cigarette lighter adapter cable (optional accessory) to the

power input socket of the light. Make sure the notch at the connector and the opening of the socket

are aligned. Turn the waterproof locking nut clockwise until the nut is tight. Plug the cigarette lighter

adapter at the other end of the cable into the cigarette lighter of an automobile.

CAUTION: Make sure the output voltage of the cigarette lighter (12V or 24V) matches the input voltage

of the light. Some vehicles provide 12VDC output while some vehicles provide 24VDC output. Order the

light to be suitable for your vehicle. Connecting a power source of wrong voltage to the light can

damage the light permanently.

AC Adapter

Connect the waterproof connector of a cigarette lighter adapter cable to the power input socket of the

light. Make sure the notch at the connector and the opening of the socket are aligned. Turn the

waterproof locking nut clockwise until the nut is tight. Plug the AC plug of the adapter into an AC outlet

socket. Our certified AC adapter is auto-switched between 100-240 VAC power supplies.

CAUTION: Make sure the output voltage of the AC power adapter matches the input voltage of the

light. Connecting a power source of wrong voltage to the light can damage the light permanently.

DC Power Source Directly

According to your application, you may prefer connecting to a DC power supply such as a portable DC

battery or DC generator. First, cut the waterproof connector off the input cable extruding from the

base of the light. Prepare the wires for direct connection. Make sure your DC power supply is turned off

while connecting the wires. You can consider adding a switch to the DC power source circuit to turn

power to the light on/off easily. Securely connect the exposed RED wire from the pan-tilt to the

positive terminal of the connection cable from your DC power source. Securely connect the exposed

BLACK wire form the pan-tilt to the negative terminal of the connection cable from your DC power

source. Insulate the connections to avoid any electrical shortage. Turn on your DC power source to turn

on the light. CAUTION: This option must be performed by a licensed electrician. Make sure the output

voltage of the DC power source matches the input voltage of the light. Also make sure the polarities of

the connections are positive to positive and negative to negative. Connecting a wrong voltage or wrong

polarity to the light can damage the light permanently.

MOUNTING THE LIGHT

Permanent Mount on a Board

Typical application of this method is permanently mounting the light on the roof of a vehicle, a boat, a

tower, or a building. These searchlights are usually mounted in an upright position for waterproofing

and maximum tolerance to impact forces. If a highly mounted searchlight needs to illuminate the area

below, the light can be mounted upside down with an optional mounting pan. However, the tolerance

to impact forces is reduced when the light is mounted upside down. We DO NOT recommend mounting

these lights upside down due to the weight of the light. The following instructions apply to mounting

the light in the normal upright position. The electrician must plan ahead to prepare the appropriate DC

power supply and its switching to the light before applying this mounting method.

There are four pre-drilled holes at the bottom of the pan-tilt.

1. Mark the centers of the four holes on the board according to the layout.

2. Drill four holes of appropriate diameters on the thin board.

3. Choose stainless steel metric bolts with suitable length and diameter (not provided) base on

the thickness of the board or the wall. The pre-drilled hole is M6x1x80 for the 40W and

M8x1x80 for the 80W. Stainless steel metric bolts are recommended. The chosen bolt should

be slightly shorter than or equal to the thickness of wall +80mm.

4. Tighten the bolts onto the light through the drilled holes.

CAUTION: Make sure the voltage of the power supply matches the input voltage of the light.

Connecting a power source of wrong voltage to the light can damage the light permanently. Also make

sure the chosen bolts are of proper length and specification. If bolts are too short, too long, or to small,

the light may not be secured properly.

Flat Surface with Easy Mount

Easy Mount is only available for the 40W models. There are two installation options to use the Easy

Mount (optional accessory). Four special lug bolts are shipped with an Easy Mount.

Option 1: Mount Locking Base of Easy Mount Permanently on Flat Surface

Typical application of this method is where the locking base of the standard Easy Mount is permanently

mounted on a flat surface while the light can be attached or detached quickly for security and storage

purpose. Tighten four stainless steel M6 screws of appropriate head size and length (not supplied) at

the four outer holes on the locking base of the Easy Mount onto the flat surface. The locking base will

be left in place on the flat surface permanently.

Option 2: Attach Locking Base of Easy Mount Temporarily on a Flat Surface by Magnets

Typical application of this method is where the flat surface is ferrous and suitable for magnetically

attached heavy equipment securely. The light is securely tightened on the locking base of the Easy

Mount with Magnets. There are four magnets permanently installed at the bottom of the locking base

of the Easy Mount. Refer to below instructions for mounting the light onto Easy Mount. The whole

assembly of the Easy Mount with the light securely mounted Is quickly attached to or detached from

the flat surface.

CAUTION: We do not recommend that the whole assembly is left on the surface while the underlying

object moves. We cannot warrant the safety of this mounting method because we cannot predict the

ferrous condition of the surface. This mounting method is used at customers own risk. Excessive speeds

may cause the light to fly off of the moving object. Please consider mounting the locking base

permanently as an alternative.
