Risk of damage by hard cleaning materials
Clean the remote control with a soft, uff-free
cloth, moistened with clean water if necessary.
Risk of damage by third party equipment
Claims under warranty are no longer valid.
Use exclusively LUXMATE equipment.
Damage by sunlight
Protect the device from exposure to direct
sunlight.
Damage by condensation and humidity
Wait until the device has reached room
temperature and is dry.
Only use the device in dry rooms.
Protect the device from excessive humidity.
Damage by temperatures that are too high or
too low
Only use the device at room temperatures from
0 to +50 °C.
The recommended operating and storage
temperature is between +10 and +30 °C
(because of the batteries).
Damage by use of wrong batteries
Only use batteries or rechargeable batteries
conforming to the specications and always
use battery cells of the same type and the
same brand. Insert the batteries in the battery
compartment as indicated in the diagram.

LUXMATE Philosophy
LUXMATE strives to create worlds of adventure with light. Light and
glare are decisive factors for the design of a workplace and exert
direct inuence on well-being, ability to concentrate and efciency.
Using innovative approaches, lighting and room management from
LUXMATE focuses on people. Particular importance is attached to
ergonomic and energy-optimized control of the room functions
Convenient and intuitive control elements enable the scene within
the room to be easily and effectively adapted to individual wishes and
different work situations.

LUXMATE Scenes
We perceive our environment through our senses. The warm light of a
sunset exerts a different inuence on us than does the grey drabness
of a rainy day. Our surroundings inuence our personal mood - and
personal well-being promotes the success of our activities.
LUXMATE aims constantly at creating the appropriate atmosphere in
the room and with it the appropriate personal mood.
The atmosphere in a room derives from the natural surroundings
(weather, time of day) and from the LUXMATE equipment in the
room. Brightness, light balance and blind position exert just as
much inuence on the people in the room as do window opening,
temperature and changes of air.
You adjust the LUXMATE equipment optimally for every activity
and every different use of the room. Then you save the respective
composition as a LUXMATE scene. Every LUXMATE output
permanently stores its value for this scene. From that moment on,
this scene can be recalled at any LUXMATE IRS in the room. Using the
IRS, scenes 1, 2 and 3 can be congured (Basic) and recalled (Basic /
Professional / Advanced).
You can also deviate from these scenes and adjust the LUXMATE
equipment to your individual requirements. In order to adjust the
LUXMATE equipment, perform the actions Basic or Professional and
Advanced.

When using the infrared remote control, direct it at the IRED infrared
sensor mounted on the ceiling or at the IREL sensor installed in the
luminaire so as to ensure optimal IR communication - exactly as you
do when using the remote control for your audio or TV equipment.
Technical Information
Note:
Dark coloured walls reect less strongly, which is why it is necessary to optimize the
alignment to the sensor when using the IRS. The transmission characteristic of the IRS has the
following appearance:
IRS should be directed at IRED/IREL in

Installation
Test that the IRS is functioning by pressing any
key, e.g. the “Arrive / Leave” key.
Insert the batteries supplied into the battery
compartment according to the polarity indicated.
The IRS is functional when the green LED lights up.
If required, mount the wall bracket supplied on the
wall, for example near the entrance to a room.
Use either the xing materials supplied or other
xing screws suitable for the material of the
particular wall.
Make sure that the nose of the wall bracket is
pointing upwards.

BASIC
Operation
Switching on
If the system is switched off (“Absent”), pressing the “Arrive / Leave”
key recalls the last setting (which can be a scene or a dimmed scene);
pressing a scene key briey (shorter than 7 seconds) activates the
programmed light scene; in this case any sector selection made before
pressing the scene key is ignored.
Switching off
The system is switched off by pressing the “Arrive / Leave” key.
Note:
If it is not possible to switch off all the luminaires synchronously (for example when a
light scene is activated in which individual luminaires are switched off), you can switch off
completely by pressing “Arrive / Leave” for longer (more than 1 second).
Dimming
Facility on:
Dim + Brightness is increased from the current dimming
value in the direction of 100% as long as the
dimming key is pressed.
Dim - Brightness is decreased from the current dimming
value in the direction of 1% as long as the
dimming key is pressed.
Dim + The luminaires are switched to 1% and then
the brightness is increased in the direction of
100% as long as the dimming key is pressed.
Dimmen - The luminaires are switched to 100% and then the
brightness is decreased in the direction of 1% as
long as the dimming key is pressed.
Note:
The lowest dimming value depends on the type of lamp and the lamp operating device.

BASIC
Operation
Switching sectors
The ve sectors can be switched and dimmed separately by pressing
the respective sector key before pressing “Arrive / Leave” or “Dim
+/-”:
The green LED ashes for approximately 2.5 seconds to indicate that a
sector was selected.
Recalling light scenes:
The dened light scenes 1 to 3 are activated by pressing the
corresponding scene key briey (less than 7 seconds). A light scene
can be temporarily modied by jointly or individually dimming or
switching all the DSI-IRs etc. allocated to the IRS.
Programming light scenes:
Before programming, set the individual sectors to the required
brightness values.
This “composition” can be saved as one of three scenes.
To do this, proceed as follows:
Press the required scene key for longer than 7 seconds.
After this time has elapsed the green LED starts to ash for 2
seconds. To save the scene, the scene key must be released within
this 2-second period. If the key is kept pressed for longer the LED is
extinguished and the set brightness values are not saved. If the scene
key is released during the rst 7 seconds (while the LED is shining
steadily), a scene is recalled (see “Switching on”).
