2. Functional characteristics.
The METALU S-3800 pool lift is designed to help people with reduced mobility access swimming pools,
either with assistance (S-3800) or independently (S-3800/ ). It is battery powered. There is no need to
connect to the mains. The design is custom to each pool. Placed on the ground, it can help user enter the
pool and/or reach the raised platform. Made of AISI 316 stainless steel with powder coating to protect the
paint and a load capacity up to 120 kg. The turning range is 360º in both directions (this range can be
limited) moving at less than 0 1 metres per second. Therefore, the ramp-up and slow-down acceleration
speeds are low. The vertical movement of the seat depends on the profile of the swimming pool. It has
an upper limit of .6 m. Different arm options and chair positions are possible to adapt to the profile of
the pool.
It is necessary to fill in the swimming pool profile form provided by METALU’s customer service office
in order to design the lift and analyse whether the product is compatible with the pool.

This product has the following stand-out features:
It is battery powered. There is no need to connect to the mains.

The pool lift moves in 3 stages:
. Lifting the user.
2. Turning until the user is above the water.
3. Lowering until the desired immersion level.
Standard 360º turning range in both directions (can be limited).
The user is fully independent with the S-3800/ automatic model.
Removable seat to prevent improper use.
Adaptability:
o Different anchoring options depending on whether the lift is to be anchored to the
wall, floor, or both.
o Different arm lengths according to how much reach is needed.
o Positioning of the seat (right, left, or front) as needed.
o Ability to limit the turning range of the lift.

3. Main product standards.
The manufacturing and finish of the lift have the following characteristics:
o The entire structure and accessories are made of 316 stainless steel.
o The finish of the metal avoids sharp edges that could cause injuries.
o The nuts and bolts do not pose any kind of risks. Everything is put together with
rounded bolts that will not scratch the user.
o Moving parts have enough space to avoid trapping any body parts.
A warning sign is included indicating the maximum lifting weight ( 20 kg).
The static coefficient has been considered, doubled to calculate the mechanical strength and
risk of overturning.
Moving parts move slowly, at less than 0 1 m/s, avoiding the risk of falling off the seat.
The lift has a red emergency stop button on the control box, in a visible and accessible place.
The control box has LEDs showing the battery charge level.
The linear lift raising/lowering actuator has a built-in red emergency socket that allows for the lift
to be lowered manually if needed.
The actioning control has an override key that bypasses the electrical system.
