DESCRIPTION
The Timed Message Player (TMP) is designed to play Standard MP3 or
Encrypted MP3 Messages at specified Times and Dates.
Features:
· Up to 100 different Messages can be loaded onto an SD card and
eachMessagecanbeprogrammedtoplaywheneverrequired.
· Each Message can be programmed to play at a fixed time, or up to
10separatefixedtimes.
· Each Message can be programmed to play on any combination of
Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturdayor
Sunday.
· Each Message can also be programmed to play within defined
dates (ie; Dec 15-31), making it ideal for seasonal use or for
promotionalperiods.
TMP is supplied with an easy to use Set Up Program (see page 2):
TMP devicesare available with or without ourproprietaryEncryptionfacility.
TMP/E units are identical to normal TMP units, except that they will only play
MP3files which have been Encrypted using the TMP Control Program or any
otherNatcommProductControlProgram.
Theheart of TMP is a professional quality MP3 engine, which is controlled by
apowerfulmicroprocessorinorder to provide exceptionalAudio output quality.
Files of any sampling rate up to 320kbps can be played by TMP, including
Variable Bit Rate files.
TMPprovidesaStereoLineLeveloutput,designedspecificallyforconnection
to an existing or new amplifier.
TMP is supplied with an 2GB SD Flash Card, which is easily large enough to
hold up to 100 Messages.

FLASH CARD and MESSAGES
TMP uses Standard SD Flash Cards to store your Standard or Encrypted
MP3 based Messages. You can also use SD-HC Flash Cards up to 32GB
in capacity.
ALL Files used with TMP MUST use 3 numeric digits between 001 and
100 as the first 3 digits of the filename.
TMP uses these first 3 digits to identify which files are to be programmed
and used as required.
You can add further alphanumeric filename information after these first
3 digits.
FLASH CARD PROGRAMMER
Music Files are transferred to the Flash Card using an SD/SD-HC Flash
Card Drive built into a PC or via an External SD/SD-HC Card programmer
which connects to a USB port (see above).
External Flash Card programmers are treated by the PC as a Removable
Hard Drive device. Once connected to the PC, they are automatically
allocated a separate DRIVE LETTER so that you can COPY and DELETE
files to the Flash Card inserted into this drive, just as you would do with any
other Drive of your PC.
HIgh Quality External SD/SD-HC Card programmers which connect to a
USB port (see above) area available from National Communications.

COPYING MESSAGES TO SD CARD
1. Important Note : ALL Files used with TMP MUST use 3 numeric
digits between 001 and 100 as the first 3 digits of the filename.
TMP uses these first 3 digits to identify which files are to be programmed
and used as required.
You can add further alphanumeric filename information after these first
3 digits.
2.Set the Drive Letter of your SD
Card Programmer. Once this has
been set TMP Control Program will
remember the Drive Letter and
select it each time the TMP Control
Program is opened.
3.Insert the supplied BLANK Flash
Cardin your Flash Card Programmer.
Then select Copy MP3 Files
to Flash Card
4.Click the Folder Icon which will
allow you to navigate to any folder
on your PC or Network where you
can then copy the required files..

5.When the correct file is selected,
click the SEND Icon and the file will
be copied to the SD Card.
6.REpeat this process for all
required files.
7.You can alternatively use
Windows EXplorer or a similar
program and drag all required files
to your SD Card in a single
operation.

PROGRAMMING PLAY TIMES
TMP Timed Message Play Settings are made using the BMS/BMP Control
Program.
Enter Time and Date Play Programming
1. Click the First File in the list
ofliesonyourFlashCard.Itwill
then have a highlighted
background.
2.IfaSTARTDATEandaSTOP
DATE for the playing of this file
is applicable, set the dates or
leave them set to Every if this
facility is not required.
3.Now EnterthePlaytimes that
areapplicableforthis Message.
UP to 10 entries can be made
foreachMessage.
Intheexample above, File001t1willplayevery 15minutesstartingat9AM and
finishing at 10:30AM. here, if the times will be the same for each day.
It is set to play 7 Day a week, but you have the ability to just tick which days
you wish this message to play.
4.RepeattheaboveprocedurewithAll Messages.
5.Whencomplete,‘Click’the SaveIcon.Atimetable
file(calledmessages.tbl)willbewrittentotheFlash
CardwhichwillcontrolwhenallMessages are to be
played.
6. It is recommended that you PRINT a copy of all
your Message Play settings and then check that all
enteries are correct.Asample of aTime Table print
is displayed on page 8.

UPDATING TMP TIME AND DATE
The internal clock of TMPis set by DEFAULTtoAustralian Eastern Standard
Time (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne etc). If this unit is to be operated in
SA, WA or NT, you should update the time as detailed below :
Note : The Daylight Savings Facility is set by DEFAULT to DISABLED. If
this unit will be operating in states other than QLD, WA and NT, you may
wish to Enable this facility if accurate Timed operation is important.
Updating the TIME and DATE of TMP is achieved by using the Control
Program.
1. Ensure that the Time and Date of your PC is accurate. If it is not,
adjust it now so that it is correct.
2.Insert a BLANK Flash Card in your Flash Card Programmer.
3.Enter the ‘Set Unit Date
and Time’ option of the
Control Program.
4.Manually change the Date or Time
if required. Press OK to write this
information to the Flash Card.
5.Without Delay, insert this Flash Card into your TMP unit. The light
on your TMP will flash 5 times. Please remove your Flash Card.
6.This Time and Date will now be written to the Internal Real Time
Clock of your unit.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS
When TMP is to be used in a State
which has Daylight Savings, you can
enable the unit to Automatically
Adjust the Time of its Internal Clock.
If Enabled, TMP will :
•Move its clock forward by 1hr at 2AM on the first Sunday of October
•Move its clock back by 1hr at 2AM on the first Sunday of April
The Default setting of TMP is : Daylight Saving OFF.
1. Enter ‘Set Daylight Savings Time
2. Enable or Disable this facility as required
3. Click the ‘OK’ icon.
A file called settings.tbl will be written to the
root directory of the Flash card and TMP will
readandsavetheentryassoonastheFlash
card is inserted.
Very Important Note : You MUST ensure that the correct current time is
set to TMP before you set or change the Daylight Savings Setting.
Failure to do this will mean that your time will be out by 1hr when TMP
makes its bi-annual automatic time change.
