• Installation, assembly, and wiring as well as all other work may only be performed by qualified elec-
trical specialists. Inadequate repairs may cause serious hazards.
• Installation in potentially explosive areas such as rooms with flammable liquids or gases is not per-
mitted.
• Do not install or keep the device near naked flames or other heat sources (heating, direct sunlight,
gas ovens etc.).
• Always install and keep the device out of the reach of children.

• Check that the voltage specification on the data plate corresponds to that of the energy supply.
• Never immerse the device in water.

4 Target Group
The electrical power supply must be connected by a qualified electrician who has demonstrated skill and
knowledge related to the construction and operation of electrical equipment and installations, and who
is familiar with the applicable regulations of the country in which the equipment is to be installed and/or
used, and has received safety training to identify and avoid the hazards involved.
5 Intended use
The relay is intended to be used in recreational vehicles with a traditional 12 V alternator (no smart alternator).
The device is not suitable for outdoor use.
This product is only suitable for the intended purpose and application in accordance with these instructions.
This manual provides information that is necessary for proper installation and/or operation of the product. Poor in-
stallation and/or improper operating or maintenance will result in unsatisfactory performance and a possible failure.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for any injury or damage to the product resulting from:
• Incorrect assembly or connection, including excess voltage
• Incorrect maintenance or use of spare parts other than original spare parts provided by the manufacturer
• Alterations to the product without express permission from the manufacturer
• Use for purposes other than those described in this manual
Dometic reserves the right to change product appearance and product specifications.
6 Technical description
The relay allows to connect a 12 V starting battery and a 12 V house battery in parallel in order to charge them at
the same time with charging currents up to 200 A using the alternator of the vehicle.
When the ignition is switched on, the D+ signal (= active alternator) closes the relay: The positive pole of the starting
battery is connected to the positive pole of the house battery. Both batteries are in parallel and charged by the alter-
nator.
When the ignition is switched off, the relay is open and the two batteries are disconnected.
7 Installation

The installation may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.

NOTICE! Damage hazard
• Observe the technical data (see Technical data ).
• Never put cables for 12 V voltage and 230 V voltage in the same cable duct.
• Cable routing must be performed with suitable cable diameters and external strain relief.
• Before drilling any holes, ensure that no electrical cables or other parts of the vehicle can be dam-
aged by drilling, sawing and filing.
Consider the following notes for the installation location:
• To avoid overheating install the device in a well-ventilated place.
• Protect the device from direct sunlight and other heat sources.
• Do not place the device on surfaces that are easily flammable (e.g. paper, cloth, etc.).
• Do not install the device in environments that have a high humidity or come in direct contact with splashes of
water or liquids.
1. For power connections choose cables with a cross section of 35 mm² for connections less than 2 m and
50 mm² for connections longer than 2 m.
2. Choose signal cables (relay coil) with a cross section of 1 mm².
3. Fix the device to a suitable place.

8 Cleaning and maintenance
The device is maintenance-free.
9 Disposal
Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins wherever possible. Consult a local
recycling center or specialist dealer for details about how to dispose of the product in accordance with
the applicable disposal regulations. The product can be disposed free of charge.
10 Warranty
The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact the manufacturer's branch in your
country (see dometic.com/dealer) or your retailer.

• A copy of the receipt with purchasing date
• A reason for the claim or description of the fault
Note that self-repair or nonprofessional repair can have safety consequences and might void the warranty.

2 Sicherheitshinweise
WARNUNG! Stromschlaggefahr, Brandgefahr
• Die Installation, die Montage und die Verkabelung sowie alle anderen Arbeiten dürfen nur durch
eine qualifizierte Elektrofachkraft durchgeführt werden. Durch unsachgemäße Reparaturen können
erhebliche Gefahren entstehen.
• Die Installation in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen wie beispielsweise Räumen mit entzündlichen
Flüssigkeiten oder Gasen ist nicht zulässig.
• Installieren und verwahren Sie das Gerät nicht in der Nähe von offenen Flammen oder anderen
Wärmequellen (Heizung, direkte Sonneneinstrahlung, Gasöfen usw.).
• Installieren und verwahren Sie das Gerät stets außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern.
ACHTUNG! Beschädigungsgefahr
• Prüfen Sie, ob die Spannungsangabe auf dem Typenschild mit der vorhandenen Energiever-
sorgung übereinstimmt.

4 Zielgruppe
Die elektrische Stromversorgung muss durch eine qualifizierte Elektrofachkraft angeschlossen werden,
die ihre Fähigkeiten und Kenntnisse im Zusammenhang mit dem Aufbau und der Bedienung von elek-
trischen Geräten und Installationen unter Beweis gestellt hat und die mit den geltenden Vorschrien des
Landes, in dem das Gerät installiert und/oder verwendet werden soll, vertraut ist und eine Sicherheitss-
chulung erhalten hat, um die damit verbundenen Gefahren zu erkennen und zu vermeiden.
5 Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Das Relais ist für den Einsatz in Freizeitfahrzeugen mit einem herkömmlichen 12 V -Generator (kein intelligenter
Generator) vorgesehen.
Das Gerät ist nicht für den Einsatz im Außenbereich geeignet.
Dieses Produkt ist nur für den angegebenen Verwendungszweck und die Anwendung gemäß dieser Anleitung
geeignet.
Dieses Handbuch enthält Informationen, die für die ordnungsgemäße Installation und/oder den ordnungsgemäßen
Betrieb des Produkts erforderlich sind. Installationsfehler und/oder ein nicht ordnungsgemäßer Betrieb oder eine
nicht ordnungsgemäße Wartung haben eine unzureichende Leistung und u.U. einen Ausfall des Geräts zur Folge.
Der Hersteller übernimmt keine Haftung für Verletzungen oder Schäden am Produkt, die durch Folgendes entste-
hen:

6 Technische Beschreibung
Das Relais ermöglicht den parallelen Anschluss einer 12 V -Starterbatterie und einer 12 V -Bordbatterie, um sie gle-
ichzeitig mit Ladeströmen bis zu 200 A unter Verwendung des Generators des Fahrzeugs aufzuladen.
Beim Einschalten der Zündung schließt das D+-Signal (= aktiver Generator) das Relais: Der Pluspol der Starterbat-
terie wird mit dem Pluspol der Bordbatterie verbunden. Beide Batterien sind parallel geschaltet und werden vom
Generator aufgeladen.
Wenn die Zündung ausgeschaltet wird, wird das Relais geöffnet und die beiden Batterien werden getrennt.
7 Installation
WARNUNG! Gefahr durch Stromschlag
Die Installation darf nur durch eine qualifizierte Elektrofachkraft durchgeführt werden.
