Important Notice
To avoid shock or damage, do not plug in or turn the system on before completing the
installation process. <No Power-ON Maintenance>
Avoid working with the KSU during electrical storms.
Use only commercial AC Power to prevent shock or fire.
Use the power cord supplied for the KSU.
Do NOT bundle AC Power cords together, the cords may over heat.
Make sure the KSU has proper Earth Ground.
The system should be “Wall-Mounting” only.
A dedicated 110/240VAC circuit located within 2 meters of the KSU is required. A
separate AC outlet is necessary for each KSU.
Meeting established environmental standards maximizes the life of the system.
Be sure the site is NOT :
In direct sunlight or in hot, cold or humid places.
In dusty areas or in areas where sulfuric gases are produced.
In places where shocks or vibrations are frequent or strong.
In places where water or other fluids comes in contact with the equipment.
In areas near high-frequency machines or electric welders.
Near computers, telexes, microwaves, air conditioners, etc.
Near radio antennas (including short-wave)

Wall Mounting (1)
The Main KSU (1632M-A)and Expansion KSU s (1632ME-A)must be mounted
onto the wall. Before installing, secure appropriate spacing as below.

Appendix : Notice for No.4 KSU
Any trunk (Analog, ISDN BRI/PRI) does NOT work.
Power Failure circuits are not available because of no trunks support.
Multi-Line Terminals, SLTs and DSS Consoles work but Door phone and Relay do NOT work.
Due to the cable length limitation, installation position of No.4 KSU must be careful.
No.4 KSU (No.3 Expansion KSU) has following limitations.

Grounding
•The “ETH” lug is located near Power supply unit on each KSU.
•Connect “ ETH” lug to the verified Earth Ground point by using 14AWG (2.0mm) wire.
KSU Grounding
Grounding must be done each KSU respectively.
Grounding is required not only for system protection
but also for Caller-ID detection.

Power Failure Transfer
•SLT is connected to the Extension Port No. 8/16/24/32.
•Change the switch position of “J6” from “KT” to “PF”. (Default : KT)
Connected extension must be SLT.

Cabling (1)
•Each I/F card provides “RJ11” connectors.
•One “RJ11”connector is provided each Trunk and Extension port.
DO NOT wire the cable with an AC Cable, computer, etc.
DO NOT run the cable near the high frequency generating device.
Use cable protectors in case the cables are run on the floor.
Aerial distribution wiring is NOT allowed.
Trunks must be installed with Lightning Arresters.
