1 -PRESENTATION

Thank you for choosing a NEOMOUV Electric-Assisted Bicycle (E-Bike)

Notes:

•The symbol indicates important advice or essential safety measures. Follow the various

instructions.

•Some adjustment and assembly/disassembly operations require special tools and expertise; perform

these only if you have the skills to do so, otherwise consult your authorised dealer or a specialist.

•The symbol indicates the tools you will need to carry out adjustments.

• Your e-bike has a serial number engraved on the frame.

2 -ADJUSTMENTS/ASSEMBLY:

Adapt the bike to your height

2.1 Adjusting the saddle:

2.1.1 Angle:

Loosen the nut under the saddle.

Adjust the angle of the saddle in order to find your most comfortable position. Tighten the nut, with a

maximum tightening torque of 13 Nm.

2.1.2 Height:

The power-assisted bicycle enables you to opt for a lower saddle position than on a classic bike. With power

assistance, you expend less effort and can be seated in a lower position for improved safety. The required user

(cyclist) height for optimal utilisation of the bike ranges from 1.60 to 1.90 m. Adjust your saddle height to the

optimal sitting position as follows:

Loosen the rapid release seat clamp.

Wearing suitable cycling shoes, sit on the saddle, place one of the pedals in the lowest position, rest one heel

on the pedal, and your leg should rest normally on the pedal without being stretched. Raise or lower the

saddle to get the correct height. While pedalling backwards, you should not have to move your hips from side

to side.

To calculate the height, you can also use the SH (Seat Height) formula = 0.885xIL (inside leg measurement). To measure

your inside leg, stand barefoot with your feet five centimetres apart. Without applying too much pressure, place a pole or

stick horizontally at groin height and then measure the height from the stick to the ground. This will give you the IL

(inside leg) measurement.

Tighten the quick release clamp.

THE SEAT POST SHOULD NOT BE EXTENDED BEYOND THE ENGRAVED SAFETY MARK (VERTICAL

BARS).

2.2 Adjusting the handlebars and the stem:

For your comfort, the position of your handlebars must be at the same level as the height of your saddle or a

bit higher according to what works best for you.

After making your adjustments, tighten the screws using a max. tightening torque of 6 Nm for the

handlebars and 8 Nm for the stem

2.3 Hydraulic brake adjustment:

The Bricks is equipped with front and rear hydraulic disc brakes. The maintenance of this system must be

carried out by a specialist. However, here are a few recommendations:

-Periodically check the condition of the lining on the brake pads. It is important to avoid leaving this

until the last minute as if the lining is faulty, the disc rubs against the metal of the pads which

damages them.

Here are 2 ways to monitor the wear and tear on your pads:

oBy sound: the braking sound will be more metallic when the lining is worn.

oBy sight: you can see the thickness of the lining when looking from the front of the calliper.

-Regularly check the condition of the discs to ensure they are clean and not too worn. Only use alcohol

or water to clean the discs.

-Completely avoid any contact with greasy substances on the disc and the pads. The pads must be

changed should this occur (they are porous and will absorb the greasy substance).

AS A GENERAL RULE,ADJUSTMENTS TO THE HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKING SYSTEM SHOULD NOT BE CARRIED OUT

HAPHAZARDLY.WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU CONTACT A SPECIALIST SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS ABOUT WHAT

TO DO.

2.4 Adjusting the derailleur:

2.4.1 Tension of the Derailleur cable:

The thumbwheel situated at the rear of the derailleur allows you to adjust the tension of the cable and thus

achieve good indexing (step-by-step gear shifting)

2.4.2 Adjusting the stops:

The 2 screws behind the derailleur are used to adjust the

internal (L) and external (H) stops. The derailleur should be able

to be placed on the outermost pinions without going any further.

2.5 Adjusting the suspension:

2.5.1 Air pressure and SAG*:

-Undo the valve cap: Screw a fork / shock-absorber pump onto the valve.

-Pump the suspension fork / shock absorber to the desired pressure. (see table below).

NEVER EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED AIR PRESSURE.

-Sit on the bike in the normal position and check the “SAG”. Inflate or deflate as required. To evaluate the

“SAG” correctly, attach a cable clamp onto the stanchion. You can lean against a wall in order to sit on the

bike without moving and take the measurement.

* (negative spring) corresponds to the compression caused solely by the bodyweight and position of the cyclist.

2.5.2 Adjusting rebound damping:

With rebound damping, you can adjust the rebound speed of the fork after its compression.

You can distinguish between low and high-speed settings.

Low-speed rebound: Setting for slow speeds

High-speed rebound: Setting for high speeds

Turn the adjustment screw anticlockwise (less damping) to raise the extension rate (rebound) of your fork. To

reduce the extension rate (rebound), turn it in a clockwise direction (more rebound).

To calculate the ideal rebound speed, turn the adjusting screw as far as it will go (minimal extension). Place

the full weight of your body on the suspension fork and let it rebound sharply. Now progressively reduce the

rebound (faster extension) and repeat this procedure so that the suspension jumps almost when rebounding.

The faster the fork rebounds, the more traction it gives. A slower rebound gives the opposite effect.

ADJUST THE REBOUND ON THE FASTEST CONFIGURATION POSSIBLE WITHOUT MAKING THE FRONT WHEEL

BOUNCE.

ASETTING THAT IS TOO FAST MAY CAUSE THE FRONT WHEEL TO BOUNCE UNCONTROLLABLY AND RESULT IN A LOSS

OF TRACTION.

2.5.3 Quick-release system:

-Turn the quick-release lever 90° in a clockwise direction to lock the fork / shock absorber.

-Turn the lever in an anticlockwise direction to free the fork.

2.6 Mounting and dismounting the wheels:

A GENERAL RULE:NEVER OPERATE THE BRAKE LEVERS WHEN A WHEEL IS OFF THE BIKE.

THE WHEEL WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOUNT.

2.6.1 Front wheel:

DO NOT LOOSEN THE NUT COMPLETELY AS THIS MAY SEPARATE THE PARTS.

2.6.2 Rear wheel:

Checking the wheel alignment:

-Centre the wheel in relation to the frame.

-Check the centring and positioning in line with the front wheel, as well as the positioning of the chain.

Checking the brake adjustment:

-Operate the brake handle 3-4 times. This allows the pads to settle correctly.

-Check that the brake disc is properly centred and rotates without friction.

-Finally, check that the wheel brakes are working properly.

CHECK THAT THE CLAMPING NUTS ARE FULLY TIGHTENED.

2.7 Installing the pedals:

The pedals can be installed and removed using a 15-mm open-ended spanner.

THEY ARE NOT IDENTICAL.

- Open the lever

- Unscrew in an anti-clockwise direction

- Remove the axle

- Take off the derailleur

- Tap the top of the tyre to release the

wheel

Repeat the operations above in reverse

order.

There is a mark on the axle that differentiates

them:

R= Right (tighten in a clockwise direction)

L= Left (tighten in an anti-clockwise direction)
