The manual lling of a UniKeg requires the following items:
• Filling head with a manometer and ball valve
• Carbonated beverage calculator
• Snap cap
Step 1: Prepare lling equipment
1. Rinse the beverage hose, connections and lling head with a disinfectant or sterilize them to ensure
good microbiological conditions;
2. Connect the beverage supply to the lling head.
Step 2: Prepare UniKeg for lling
1. Disinfect the valve of the UniKeg while holding it upside down;
2. Position the UniKeg in the upright position;
3. Disinfect the lling head and connect it to the UniKeg.
Step 3: Filling
1. Open the ball valve of the beverage line;
• For carbonated beverages, slowly open the ball valve on the gas exit. Maintain counter pressure
above the equilibrium pressure of the beverage.
• For still beverages, open the ball valve on the gas exit more or less to control the speed of lling.
2. Close the ball valve on the gas exit and beverage line when the keg is full;
3. Disconnect the lling head.

Step 4: Prepare UniKeg for shipping
1. Rinse residual beverage from the UniKeg valve with warm water, remove water and spray the valve
with a disinfectant;
2. Place a snap cap on the UniKeg.
Important
• Disinfectant: 2% iodine solution or 2% peracetic acid are preferred.
• Do not spill any disinfectant on the PET container of the UniKeg as it is susceptible to damage by
certain disinfectants (e.g. ethanol, propanol, alkaline solutions). Apply disinfectants to the valve
only while keeping the UniKeg upside down.
