Pump Removal and Replacement
Procedure for the Probrix+ Instrument 115/230VAC
Pump Removal
TURN THE MAIN POWER SWITCH LOCATED AT THE LEFT SIDE OF THE LOWER CABINET
TO THE OFF POSITION.
Turn the pump switch on the head to the off position (to the left ¼ turn). Next you must trip breaker
(down position) inside the lower cabinet electrical assembly as shown below.
Remove 4 screws from pump electrical assembly and remove assembly cover. Retain these 4 screws for
reassembly.

**NOTE: Procedure below may vary with different model pumps. Some have a terminal type
connection instead. If you have a terminal type connection please see photos on page 7 of this handout
for connections.
Take a 7 mm driver and remove nuts securing both the hot and neutral wires. Remove wires from
terminals and replace nuts and tighten (so nuts are not lost). Unscrew ground wire and replace screw
and tighten.
Remove wire gland with an adjustable wrench and pull cable through then replace wire gland and
tighten.
On the bottom of lower assembly unscrew 4 bolts using a 13mm socket. Remove bolts and retain for
reassembly.

Disconnect both inlet and outlet hoses from the pump using an adjustable wrench.
Replace cover of pump electrical assembly along with the 4 screws and tighten.
Remove pump from lower body.
Now you must remove the pump from the mounting bracket. Remove the 4 nuts, bolts, and washers
from the rear of the mounting assembly. Retain nuts, bolts, and washers for reassembly.
Ship pump back to Orbisphere for repair.

Pump Replacement
Mount replacement pump on pump bracket using the 4 bolts, washers, and nuts retained from the
removal procedure.
Remove 4 screws from replacement pump electrical assembly and remove assembly cover. Retain these
4 screws for reassembly.
Place pump in lower assembly of instrument and secure from the bottom using a 13mm socket and the 4
bolts retained from the removal procedure.

Secure the inlet and outlet hoses to the pump using an adjustable wrench and tighten.
Remove cable gland and thread onto the power cord for the pump. Feed the power cord into the pump
electrical assembly as shown below and tighten cable gland.
Remove nuts from the neutral and hot terminals. Place the eyelets for each lead onto the proper
terminals and tighten connections using a 7mm driver.
Remove grounding screw and secure grounding wire to screw and tighten.

Replace pump electrical assembly cover using 4 screws retained earlier and tighten.
Turn breaker back to the on position (up position) inside the lower cabinet electrical assembly. Close
lower cabinet electrical assembly and secure. Turn the pump switch on the head to the on position (to
the right ¼ turn until it stops).
Turn the main power switch located at the left side of the lower cabinet to the ON position.

Terminal Connection Style Pump
Remove the pump electrical assembly cover and lift up capacitor assembly. NOTE: Use caution when
lifting on the capacitor assembly as there are wires running from the pump to this assembly.
Terminal connections are shown below.
NEW STYLE
Jumpers are on V1 & U2 upper. W1 & V2 lower. Motor rotating CCW.
For CW rotation move Jumpers to V1 & W1 left, U2 & V2 lower. See below
