Powerline VANTAGE VSL Manuale utente

Read this manual thoroughly before uncrating your lift.
It is important that the installer and operator read this
manual before installing and/or operating the Vantage
Storage Lift. This product manual should be kept close
to the Vantage Storage Lift for reference and should be
included with the lift if it is re-sold.
There are four (4) diff erent platform confi gurations. This
manual focuses on the assembly of the VSL platform
confi guration. The other platform confi gurations are assembled in a similar fashion.
Important Safety Precautions:
Do not stand on the platform while it is being raised or lowered.
(Exception:) If the lifting cable needs to be re-spooled correctly on the motor drum, it is okay
to stand on the plywood decking to complete this procedure. The platform should not need to
be raised more than 24 inches off of the fl oor to complete the procedure.
The weight of the payload on the platform should be evenly distributed. Heavier items should
be closer to the column.
The total payload weight (including the decking) must not exceed 1500 lbs.
Do not stand (or lie) under the raised platform unless the platform is supported with
mechanical support legs. These support legs must have a combined rated capacity of no less
than 2,000 lbs.
Unauthorized changes and/or modifi cations to any part of the Vantage Storage Lift will void
the warranty and will exempt the manufacturer from liability issues.
Do not operate the Vantage Storage Lift if under the infl uence of drugs or alcohol.
The power cord should be unplugged if the lift will not be used for an extended period of time.
Operation of the lift is limited to persons 18 years and older.
The manufacturer has made every eff ort to ensure that the information in this manual is
correct. The manufacturer reserves the right to make improvement changes to the Vantage
Storage Lift that may be not be shown in this manual. The manufacturer will make every
eff ort to identify changes to the lift in future manuals and on the website.

The Vantage Storage Lift is packaged in a
plywood crate.
The plywood crate is NOT evenly balanced.
The heavy end (the carriage is located here)
is identifi ed on the outside of the crate.
If you are unloading, loading, or transporting
the crate from one end, make sure that the
heavy end is closest to the forklift.
You will need extra long forks to safely
support the plywood crate if the crate if
positioned length-wise on the forks.
When lifting the crate from the side, be aware that
one end is heavier than the other.
Check the plywood crate for damage and make
notes if the crate has been compromised.
Long forks should be
positioned at the heavy
end (carriage) of crate.

* Total depth is calculated from front of platform to back of the support plate on column base. It does NOT include
approach ramps. Add 18” for approach ramps when extended on all models except for VSLS (instead add 13.5”).
Lifting times calculated with no weight on platform.
The servo-motor on all Vantage Storage lift models operates on either 110V (15 amp) or
220V (single phase) current. There is no motor modifi cation necessary. The motor speed is
increased signifi cantly when using single phase 220V (see chart).
Please use 110V power when installing and testing your lift. After you complete the installation
and have successfully tested the operation of the lift, you have the option to use 220V (single
phase) power. If you decide to “hardwire” the power source to the motor, you will need to
have an emergency disconnect nearby. Please consult your local electrical codes for more
information. 220 V step-up transformers (minimum of 3000 watt capacity) can be used to
increase power from 110V to single phase 220V.

Please read this installation manual before you begin to install your Vantage Storage
Lift. Installing your lift requires two (2) able-bodied individuals. There are several heavy
component parts to this lift.
Foundation Requirements
Do not pre-drill the holes for the wedge anchors. The holes in the column base and column
support brace will be used as a template.
Note that when you see “Hand-Tighten” used in this manual a hand wrench is okay. The goal
is for the assembly to be completed with the nuts/bolts being hand tight in the beginning before
fi nal adjustments are made….and then it is ok to use an impact wrench to tighten. Do not
overtighten connections.
This lift is to be installed on a level concrete fl oor with a minimum thickness of 3.5 inches and
3500 PSI. If the lift is being installed on new concrete, the concrete needs a curing time of one
week (minimum).

Foundation Diagram

1. Place the crate as close as possible to the installation site.
2. Open the metal tabs with a large screwdriver and hammer or some type of pry bar.
3. Remove the sides of the crate. Leave the column lying on the crate fl oor.
4. Remove all packages from the crate except the column.
Move these parts to a location that will not interfere with positioning the column.

5. Remove the two Fixed Position Bolts
from the bottom of the carriage.
They were used to secure the
carriage and prevent its movement
during shipment. These bolts will
not be used again so remove them
from the installation site to avoid
future confusion.
6. Stand the column up (this is a two-person job!)
and move it to the installation location.
Place a piece of heavy cardboard under the
column base to make it easier to slide. Be very
careful when standing the column from the crate.
Make sure that your concrete fl oor is 3.5
inches thick and 3500 PSI. Do not install the
column over any concrete control joints.
The back of the column base should be at
least eight (8) inches from the wall. Make sure
that the column base is “square” to the wall.

7. Unwrap the rest of the parts and lay them
out in front of the column to visualize the
footprint. Place the rear column support
near the column.
Note that all the
nuts and bolts come
pre-assembled in
their proper location.
Anchoring the Column
Two (2) of the corner anchor bolt holes are accessible without raising the carriage. (See circled
holes.) However, to access and drill the rest of the column base anchor bolt holes, you must
raise the carriage to about 18-24 inches.
Before the carriage is
raised, two anchor bolts
will need to be installed
to support the column
when the carriage is
slightly raised. These
two (circled) holes in the
steel column base plate
will be the template.
Make sure that the
column base is “square”
to the wall.

1. Use a 5/8-inch (16mm) masonry bit to drill these back corner column support holes. Drilled
holes must be at least 4 inches deep. It is okay to drill all the way through the concrete.
2. Clean the holes and install two
of the 7.5 inch (190mm) wedge
anchor bolts through the column
base holes. Leave at least three
(3) inches of the thread exposed
above the metal column base.
Tighten the nuts to be FIRM
ONLY. Do not over tighten. You
will be removing these nuts and
washers to install the column
base support.
The weight of the carriage at the bottom of the column allows the column to stand
upright on a level concrete fl oor. However, the carriage must be slightly raised to access
(and drill) all of the column base holes needed to support the column.
As the carriage is raised, the vertical column becomes less stable. This is why
anchoring the column base to the concrete before raising the carriage is necessary. These
two (2) column base anchors will provide the needed column support when the carriage is
raised to access and drill the remaining support holes.
