T ank you for purc asing t e RMBS, t is is a 19inc rack-mounted unit specifically designed to allow iso-
lation and removal UPS equipment, wit out causing interruption to t e supply of power to connected
loads.
Please read t is manual t oroug ly and follow t e instructions carefully. Before attempting to install or
use t e RMBS, familiarize yourself wit t e RMBS and its operation.
Warning exposure to azardous voltages may occur if t e installation procedure is not followed.
It is recommended t at installation of t is product is carried out by a qualified electrician

Connection of Mains Supply
Feed t e Mains Supply cable t roug t e gland on t e rear cover and secure. Terminate t e cables in t e
terminals marked Mains on t e cover plate
Connection of t e Input to t e UPS
Feed t e UPS Input cable t roug t e gland on t e rear cover and secure. Terminate t e cables in t e
terminals marked UPS In on t e cover plate
Connection of t e Output from t e UPS
Feed t e UPS Output cable t roug t e gland on t e rear cover and secure. Terminate t e cables in t e
terminals marked UPS Out on t e cover plate
Connection of t e Load Equipment
Feed t e Load cable t roug t e gland on t e rear cover and secure. Terminate t e cables in t e
terminals marked Load on t e cover plate

Transfer From UPS o Bypass Opera ion For Main enance and Tes ing
Remove t e rotary switc cover plate using t e two t umb screws
If t e interlock connections ave been installed t e UPS s ould automatically transfer to internal UPS by-
pass. If owever t ey ave not been installed, t en follow t e UPS instructions to transfer t e UPS to in-
ternal bypass operation.
C eck t e UPS display to ensure t e unit is in internal bypass operation
Rotate t e switc to t e 'UPS + Bypass' position, t e load is now powered by t e RMBS
T e UPS still as mains supply voltage present for testing purposes

Ini ial Swi ch On
Ensure all connections are correct
Ensure t e rotary switc in t e 'NORMAL' position
Ensure t e rotary switc cover plate is attac ed firmly in place
Switc on t e AC supply to t e RMBS
T e UPS s ould now begin its start-up procedure
Follow t e instructions detailed in t e UPS user manual to confirm UPS is operating correctly
WARNING
ENSURE THE UPS IS IN NORMAL OPERATION AND NOT IN BATTERY MODE

Transfer From Bypass o UPS Opera ion
Remove t e rotary switc cover plate using t e two t umb screws
Rotate t e switc from ‘Bypass’ position to ‘Bypass + UPS’ position
T e UPS S ould now begin start-up procedure (refer to UPS user manual for switc on instructions)
ENSURE t e UPS is in internal bypass operation
Rotate t e switc to t e 'UPS’ position
Transfer t e UPS to normal online operation (refer to UPS user manual)
T e load is now supplied by t e UPS

To isolate t e UPS rotate t e switc to t e 'Bypass' position, t e UPS input/output connections are now
isolated
WARNING
LOAD IS ONLY FULLY PROTECTED WHEN THE ROTARY SWITCH IS IN THE UPS
POSITION AND THE UPS IN IN NORMAL ONLINE OPERATION
