Introduction
With Sandberg Wireless Multimedia Link you can transfer sound and images wirelessly from your computer
to your television. No more cable mess! The kit consists of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter
connects to your computer's TV and audio output, while the receiver connects to your television's AV input
with the cables supplied. You can select the transmission frequency to avoid signal interference from other
wireless equipment in your home. You can also connect the transmitter to other video and audio sources
such as a satellite dish or DVD player. The built-in infrared signal amplifier makes it possible to remote
control the transmission source even while you are sitting in front of your television.
The Wireless Multimedia Kit Link contains:

Before you start
Before you start connecting the relevant cables, we recommend checking the connectors available on your
television and the device that will be transmitting the signal, e.g. your computer, DVD player, video re-
corder or satellite receiver.
Connecting the transmitter
Below we show the four most common ways of connecting the transmitter.
Phono (Composite) on your computer
1. Connect the stereo adapter to your computer's sound output port (typically green), and
then the white and red connectors of a stereo/video cable.
2. Connect the yellow connector of the stereo/video cable to your computer's TV out port.
3. Connect the other end of the stereo/video cable to the transmitter, making sure that the
colours match up.
NB: Some graphics cards are supplied with an adapter for connecting to a Composite cable.

2. Connect the S-Video to Composite adapter to your computer's TV out port, and then the
yellow connector of the stereo/video cable.
3. Connect the other end of the stereo/video cable to the transmitter, making sure that the
colours match up.
NB: Some graphics cards are supplied with an adapter for connecting to an S-Video cable.
SCART socket on DVD player, video recorder, satellite receiver or other device
1. Connect a Stereo/video cable to the SCART adapter, making sure that the colours match
up.
2. Set the SCART adapter signal slider to OUT.
3. Connect the SCART adapter to your DVD player, video recorder, satellite receiver or other
device.
4. Connect the other end of the stereo/video cable to the transmitter, making sure that the

1. Connect a stereo/video cable to your DVD player, video recorder, satellite receiver or
other device, making sure that the colours match up.
2. Connect the other end of the stereo/video cable to the transmitter, making sure that the
colours match up.
Connecting an infrared signal amplifier
The infrared signal amplifier supplied enables you to remotely control the device to which the
transmitter is connected, even if the receiver is located in a different room. If the transmitter
is connected to a computer, you can remotely control the computer using appropriate hard-
ware such as Sandberg PC Remote, product code 135-55.
1. Connect the infrared signal amplifier to the "IR Ext." port on top
of the transmitter.
2. Use the adhesive pad supplied to fit the IR diode (the small
hexagonal tab) as close as possible to the infrared sensor of the
device you wish to remote control. Infrared sensors are typically
located on the front of DVD players, video recorders, satellite
receivers or other devices.

Instructions for use
Switch on the transmitter and receiver, tune your television to display the AV channel for the
socket you have connected the receiver to.
When connecting a computer you may have to switch on the computer's TV out function.
Refer to the instructions supplied with your graphics card or computer if necessary.
NB: In order to achieve the fastest possible transmission speed, the signal is converted to
Composite before being sent, even if the transmitter is connected to a SCART or S-Video
socket. Composite does not provide nearly as good picture quality as SCART or S-Video, so
you should expect a lower image quality than when using a SCART or S-Video cable connec-
tion.
Transmission channels
There are four small switches on the bottom of both the transmitter and receiver. These
allow you to set the transmission channel you want to use. There are four available channels.
If you experience signal interference from other wireless devices in your house, it may help
to change the channel.
The switch positions for the various channels are shown below.
Note that the transmitter and receiver must be set to the same channel.

Troubleshooting
• No picture or sound
- Check that the transmitter and receiver are correctly connected and that they are
switched on.
- Make sure that your television is set to display the AV channel for the socket used. Refer
to the user manual for your television if necessary.
- Check that they are both set to the same transmission channel.
• There is a good picture on the television, but there is no sound.
- Check that the stereo adapter is connected to the correct output port on the computer. If
using a direct S-video cable, it may be necessary to use an extra cable for the sound.
- If the sound and video are connected separately to the television, check that all the con-
nectors used in the television belong to the same AV channel.
• Picture or sound interference
- Try moving the transmitter and receiver a little bit. Try different locations to find the best
signal conditions.
- Appliances using electromagnetic waves such as microwave ovens may cause signal inter-
ference, so make sure that the transmitter and receiver are not placed too close to such
appliances.
- Try another transmission channel

Introduktion
