CORDLESS NUT RIVETER/IMPACT DRIVER
18V 3AH LITHIUM-ION 1 HOUR CHARGER

instructions, and properly maintained, give you years of trouble free performance.

1. SAFETY
1.1. GENERAL SAFETY
9Follow all workshop safety rules, regulations and conditions when using the riveter.
9Remove the battery pack from the riveter before servicing or performing any maintenance.
9Maintain the riveter and battery pack in good condition. Check moving parts for alignment on a regular basis.
9Replace or repair damaged parts. Use an authorised service agent and recommended parts only. Unauthorised parts may be
dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
9Ensure the riveter is ‘locked’ before installing the battery pack.
9Keep the riveter, battery pack and charger clean for optimum performance.
9Keep the work area clean and tidy and free from unrelated materials. Ensure that there is adequate lighting.
9Ensure that battery pack is correctly inserted into the riveter handle and latched in place before operating riveter.
WARNING! When working around vehicle brake systems we recommend that you wear suitable respiratory protection due to the
possible presence of asbestos dust from brake linings.
8Use only the accessories that come with this riveter.
8Avoid unintentional starting.
9Wear approved safety eye/face shield, ear defenders and hand protection.
9Removeill-ttingclothing.Removeties,watches,ringsandotherloosejewelleryandcontainlonghair.
9Maintaincorrectbalanceandfooting.Ensuretheoorisnotslipperyandwearnon-slipshoes.
9Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the work area.
8DO NOToperatetheriveterifanypartsaremissingasthismaycausefailureand/orpersonalinjury.
8DO NOTusetheriveterunlessyouhavebeeninstructedinitsusebyaqualiedperson.
8DO NOToperatetheriveterwheretherearesolventfumesorammablegases,liquidsorsolids.
8DO NOT leave the riveter operating unattended.
8DO NOTcarryriveterwithyourngeronthetrigger.Keepdirectionswitchin‘locked’positionwhennotinuse.
8DO NOT use the riveter for a task it is not designed to perform.
8DO NOToperatetheriveterwhenyouaretiredorundertheinuenceofalcohol,drugsorintoxicatingmedication.
8DO NOT get the riveter or battery charger wet or use in damp or wet locations.
9Keepriveterandchargerinthecaseandstoreinasafe,dry,childproofareawherethetemperaturewillnotexceed40°C(104°F).
1.2. BATTERY SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! The battery pack contains nickel-cadmium, which is dangerous. It must therefore be handled with care.
9Chargethebatterypackpriortorstuse.Thebatterypackwillhavebeenshippedinalowchargestate.
9Use only the charger provided to charge the battery pack.
8DO NOTchargethebatterypackwhenroomtemperatureisbelow10°C(50°F)orabove40°C(104°F).
8DO NOT attempt recharging the pack by means of an engine generator or a DC power source.
8DO NOTshort-circuitthebatterypackbytouchingbothterminalsatthesametimewithametalobject,oryourngersetc.
8DO NOTstorebatterypack(orriveter)inlocationswherethetemperaturemayexceed40°C(104°F)e.g.inoutsidesheds,above
heaters etc.
WARNING! Dispose of spent battery pack correctly.
▲DANGER! DO NOT attempt to disassemble the battery pack. For safety and environmental reasons DO NOT discard in domestic
waste or by burning. ONLY discard or recycle according to local authority regulations.
WARNING! DO NOT allow a leaking battery to contact your person. If you come into contact with battery liquid take the following
immediateaction:a)Skincontact:Washimmediatelywithsoapandwater,thenwashineitherlemonjuiceorvinegar.
b)Eyecontact:Washwithastrongsolutionofboricacidandseekimmediatemedicalattention.
1.3. MAINS POWER ELECTRICAL SAFETY(Inrelationtothebatterycharger)
WARNING! It is the responsibility of the owner and the operator to read, understand and comply with the following:
You must check all electrical products, before use, to ensure that they are safe. You must inspect power cables, plugs, sockets
and any other connectors for wear or damage. You must ensure the risk of electric shock is minimised by the installation of
appropriatesafetydevices.AResidualCurrentCircuitBreaker(RCCB)shouldbeincorporatedinthemaindistributionboard.
WealsorecommendthataResidualCurrentDevice(RCD)beused.ItisparticularlyimportanttouseanRCDwithportableproducts
that are plugged into a supply that is not protected by an RCCB. If in any doubt consult a qualified electrician. You may obtain a

Residual Current Device by contacting your Sealey dealer. You must also read and understand the following instructions concerning
electrical safety.
1.3.1. TheElectricityAtWorkAct1989requiresallportableelectricalappliances,ifusedonbusinesspremises,tobetestedbyaqualied
electrician,usingaPortableApplianceTester(PAT),atleastonceayear.
1.3.2. TheHealth&SafetyatWorkAct1974makesownersofelectricalappliancesresponsibleforthesafeconditionofthoseappliances
andthesafetyoftheapplianceoperator.Ifinanydoubtaboutelectricalsafety,contactaqualiedelectrician.
1.3.3. Ensurethattheinsulationonallcablesandontheapplianceissafebeforeconnectingittothepowersupply.See1.3.1and1.3.2
and use a Portable Appliance Tester.
1.3.4. Ensurethatcablesarealwaysprotectedagainstshortcircuitandoverload.
1.3.5. Regularlyinspectpowersupplycablesandplugsforwearordamageandcheckall
connections to ensure none is loose.
1.3.6. Important:Ensurethatthevoltagemarkedontheappliancematchesthepowersupply
tobeusedandthattheplugisttedwiththecorrectfuse-seefuseratingatright.
1.3.7. DO NOT pull or carry the appliance by the power cable.
1.3.8. DO NOT pull the plug from the socket by the cable.
1.3.9. DO NOT use worn or damage cables, plugs or connectors. Immediately have any faulty
itemrepairedorreplacedbyaqualiedelectrician.WhenanASTA/BSapprovedUK3pin
plugisdamaged,cutthecablejustabovethepluganddisposeoftheplugsafely.
Ensure that the double insulated charger is correctly connected via a three-pin plug, as follows:
a) ConnecttheBrownlivewiretoliveterminal‘L’.
b) ConnecttheBlueneutralwiretotheneutralterminal‘N’.
c) Afterwiring,checkthattherearenobarewires,thatallwireshavebeencorrectly`
connected,thatthecableouterinsulationextendspastthecableclampandthattheclampis
tight. Note that the earth pin ‘E’ remains unconnected.
1.3.10. Ifanextensionreelisuseditshouldbefullyunwoundbeforeconnection.AreelwithanRCDttedispreferredsinceanyappliance
pluggedintoitwillbeprotected.Thecablecoresectionisimportantandshouldbeatleast1.5mm²,buttobeabsolutelysurethat
the capacity of the reel is suitable for this product and for others which may be used in the other output sockets, we recommend the
useof2.5mm²sectioncable.Ifextensionreelistobeusedoutdoors,ensureitismarkedforoutdooruse.
1.4. BATTERY CHARGER SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! DO NOTattempttochargeanybatteryotherthanthatsuppliedfortheriveter.Othertypesofbatteriesmayexplode!
9Allmainselectricalsupplysafetyfeaturesmustbefollowedasdescribedin1.3above.
9Disconnect the charger from the mains supply when not in use.
8DO NOTchargebatteryifroomtemperatureisbelow10°C(50°F)orabove40°C(104°F).
8DO NOTexposethechargertodamporwetconditions.
8DO NOT pull or carry the charger by the power lead.
8DO NOT operate the charger if it has been dropped, or has received a sharp knock, or is damaged. Take the charger to an authorised
agent for repair or obtain a replacement.
8DO NOTdismantlethechargerasthismaycausedamageand/orpersonalinjuryandwillinvalidatethewarranty.
8DO NOTinsertforeignobjectsormaterialintotheholereservedforthebatterypack.
8DO NOTrechargeasecondbatterypackimmediatelyafterchargingtherst.Consecutivechargingwilloverheatthecharger.Allow
theunittocoolfor15minutesbeforechargingthenextpack.
8DO NOT attempt to connect two chargers together.

4. INSTRUCTIONS
4.1. CHARGING
4.1.1. Plug the charger into the mains, the indicator will light green.
4.1.2. Insert the battery into the charger the indicator will turn red.
4.1.3. When the indicator light turns green charging is completed.
4.1.4. Remove battery from the charger and switch off at the mains.

4.2. OPERATING SWITCH Refer to fig.1
4.2.1. Theswitchhasthreepositions:Middleposition-powerisdisconnected,Righthandposition(pushedfullythroughtotheright)the
riveterwillturninaanticlockwisedirection,Lefthandposition(pushedfullythroughtotheright)theriveterwillturninaclockwise
direction.
Note: Make sure the switch is in the middle (off) position before changing puling poles and nosepieces etc.
4.3. CHANGING PULLING POLES AND NOSEPIECES Refer to fig.1
4.3.1. Remove the outer socket by undoing it CLOCKWISE with the spanner supplied.
4.3.2. Removethepullingpoleinstalledandremovethefourwashers(notetheirpositionandorientation).
4.3.3. Usethesmallerendofthespannertoundothenosepiece(turnANTICLOCKWISE),removethenosepiece.
4.3.4. Selecttherequiredsizeofpullingpoleandnosepiece,insertthehexendofthepullingpoleintothehexsocketontheriveter.
4.3.5. Placethewashersontothepullingpoleintheordershowninfig.2.
4.3.6. Refit the outer socket and tighten.
4.3.7. Fit the nosepiece and tighten CLOCKWISE.
4.4. RIVETING
4.4.1. Select and install the required pulling pole and nose piece.
4.4.2. Push the switch to the left.
4.4.3. Screw a rivet nut onto the pulling pole, pull the trigger gently, the pulling pole will rotate into the rivet nut.
4.4.4. Put the rivet nut into the hole in the metal sheet etc. P
4.4.5. Pullthetriggeruntiltherivetnutisfixedintothemetalsheet.
4.4.6. Push the switch to the right, gently pull the trigger and the pulling pole will rotate out of the rivet nut.
4.5. DRILL
4.5.1. Remove the outer socket and the pulling pole.
4.5.2. Pull the head cap, see fig.3, forward and insert the drill bit into the drive socket.
4.5.3. To change the drill bit pull the head cap forward to remove.
4.5.4. Push the switch through to the left hand side to drill a hole. Push the switch through to the right side to reverse the drill out of the hole.
Note: Only use the drill bits supplied in the kit.
4.6. SCREWDRIVER/IMPACTDRIVER
4.6.1. Pull the head cap forward to insert the desired tool.
4.6.2. Push the switch through to the left and pull the trigger gently to drive a screw etc. and push the switch through to the right to remove a
screw etc.

Environmental Protection
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be
sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment.
When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain off any fluids (if applicable)
into approved containers and dispose of the product and the fluids according to local regulations.
