Keep these instructions with the product for future reference. Ensure all people who use this product
are fully acquainted with these safety instructions.The visor and ear defenders are for adult use only
and do not provide unlimited face and ear protection.
WARNING: The visor and ear protectors are designed for your personal safety and must be worn
for the duration of the exposure to hazards.
Please ensure that visor and ear defenders are appropriate for intended use.Inspect before use to
ensure products are in good condition and are not damaged in any way.Assemble all parts prior to
tting. Visor and ear defenders may be used in combination or individually. This equipment should
be tted, adjusted and maintained in accordance with these instructions.
WARNING: If the recommendations given in these instructions are not adhered to,the
protection afforded by this equipment will be severely impaired
The ear defenders are meant for ear protection but are not unbreakable.This mesh visor is meant
for face protection against moderate impact hazards but is not unbreakable.Never alter or modify
the ear defenders and visor.A damaged ear defender reduces protection and should be replaced
immediately.Ear muffs, and in particular cushions,may deteriorate with use and should be
examined at frequent intervals for cracking and leakage for example. The tting of hygiene covers to
the cushions may affect the acoustic performance of the ear muffs.
It is the responsibility of the user to acquaint themselves with the hazards to be encountered and
select the correct level of protection for use in the hazardous area.A damaged visor reduces both
protection and vision and should be replaced immediately. This visor does not have any ltering
action and does not protect against molten metal splash, hot solids or electrical hazards.
The materials which come into contact with skin may cause allergic reactions to susceptible
individuals. If a reaction occurs, leave the area and remove the visor and seek medical advice.
This product may be adversely affected by certain chemical substances.Further information should
be sought from the manufacturer.
WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions and warnings on the use of this item during all
times of exposure can reduce its effectiveness and could result in illness or disability.
WARNING: The mesh eye and face protector does not protect against liquid splash (including
molten metal), hot solids, electrical hazards, infrared and ultra violet radiation. This mesh visor does
not have any ltering action.

Product Familiarisation
Intended Use
Impact-resistant helmet with integral ear defenders and visor for home use when operating
chainsaws, brush cutters and hedge trimmers.
Assembly and Fitting
WARNING: These ear muffs are of ’large size range’. Ear muffs complying with EN352-1 are of
‘medium size range’ or ‘small size range’ or ‘large size range’. ‘Medium size range’ ear muffs will t
the majority of wearers. ‘Small size range’ or ‘large size range’ ear-muffs are designed to t wearers
for whom ‘medium size range’ ear muffs are not suitable.
Ear-muffs have been supplied as part of this product. These ear-muffs should be tted to, and used
only with, the following industrial safety helmets: BBS model number B204.
Helmet and Ear Muff Fitting Instructions
IMPORTANT: The Peak (2) of the Helmet (3) must be worn forward-facing at all times.
1. To t the Ear Muffs (7) hold one cup in each hand and pull them apart. Place Ear Muffs over ears,
moving hair away from the ears where necessary.
2. To adjust the Helmet Harness (8) turn the Adjustment Wheel (9) until you achieve a comfortable,
secure t on the head and ears.
3. Increase the pressure of the ear defenders as needed by bending Wire Brackets (4) to ensure an
effective noise seal. Make sure the ear defenders are a comfortable t before entering an area
with excessive noise

Standby Position
To put Ear Muffs in standby position when not in use,swing Ear Muffs over the back of the Helmet.
Mesh Visor Installation Instructions
To install the Mesh Visor (1), push the Latches (6) through the Holes (5) and turn the latches to lock
the visor into place, see Fig.1
Removing and Replacing Ear Muffs
To remove or replace the Ear Muffs see Fig 2.

WARNING: Mesh oculars and visors marked ‘S’ should not be used when there is a foreseeable risk
of any hard or sharp ying particles.
Storage and Maintenance
When not in use, the Forestry Hat must be stored in a clean and dry environment.Any part which
comes into contact with the wearer should be disinfected with agents not know to be harmful to
the user.Clean with warm soapy water and dry with soft cloth. Do not clean with abrasive materials,
organic solvents or alcohol. Ear defenders should be disinfected every 3 months.

Registering your purchase
Registration is made at silverlinetools.com by selecting the Guarantee Registration button. You
will need to enter:-

• Details of the product and purchase information
Once this information is entered your guarantee certicate will be created in PDF format for you
to print out and keep with your purchase.
Guarantee period becomes effective from the date of retail purchase as detailed on your sales
receipt.

If this product develops a fault within 30 days of purchase, return it to the stockist where it
was purchased, with your receipt,stating details of the fault. You will receive a replacement
or refund.

The guarantee claim must be submitted during the guarantee period.
You must provide the original sales receipt indicating the purchase date, your name,address
and place of purchase before any work can be
carried out.
You must provide precise details of the fault requiring correction.
Claims made within the guarantee period will be veried by Silverline Tools to establish if the
deciencies are related to material or manufacturing of the product.
Carriage will not be refunded.Items for return must be in a suitably clean and safe state for
repair, and should be packaged carefully to prevent damage or injury during transportation. We
may reject unsuitable or
unsafe deliveries.
All work will be carried out by Silverline Tools or its authorized
repair agents.
The repair or replacement of the product will not extend the period
of guarantee
Defects recognised by us as being covered by the guarantee shall be corrected by means of
repair of the tool, free of charge (excluding carriage charges) or by replacement with a tool in
perfect working order.
Retained tools, or parts,for which a replacement has been issued, will become the property of
Silverline Tools.
The repair or replacement of your product under guarantee provides benets which are
additional to and do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
What is covered:
The repair of the product, if it can be veried to the satisfaction of Silverline Tools that the
deciencies were due to faulty materials or workmanship within the guarantee period.
If any part is no longer available or out of manufacture, Silverline Tools will replace it with a
functional replacement part.
Use of this product in the EU.
What is not covered:
Silverline Tools does not guarantee repairs required as a result of:
Normal wear and tear caused by use in accordance with the operating instructions eg blades,
brushes, belts, bulbs, batteries etc.
The replacement of any provided accessories drill bits, blades,sanding sheets, cutting discs and
other related items.
Accidental damage, faults caused by negligent use or care,misuse, neglect, careless operation
or handling of the product.
Use of the product for anything other than normal domestic purposes.
Change or modication of the product in any way.
Use of parts and accessories which are not genuine Silverline Tools components.
Faulty installation (except installed by Silverline Tools).
Repairs or alterations carried out by parties other than Silverline Tools or its authorized repair
agents.
Claims other than the right to correction of faults on the tool named in these guarantee
conditions are not covered by the guarantee.
