
Check that the meter needle is near the red mark d ring transmitting. Talk
into the microphone. The meter needle shall move a little. Release the trans
mit b tton and switch the channel selector to channel 1,2 etc. ntil yo
receive a station.
Wait ntil this station stops to transmit and t rn the Sq elch control slowly
to max. Until the backgroun noi.se just isappears. When the station Starts
to transmit again, yo will hear this station, b t yo will not hear the back
-gro nd noise d ring non transmitting periods.
OPERATING INSTRUCTONS
The transceiver is ready to operate when it is installed with an antenna
properly connected. Note that the comm nication range differs depending pon
the environment where the transceiver is operated.
Yo may reach 30 or 40 kilometers where no obstacle exists, b t the range
may be limited to 5 or 6 kilometers in cities where many high b ildings
dist rb the comm nication.
1) T rn the set on by switching the LOW CH-OFF-HIGH CH. snap switch to
the desired channel range and the channel dial will be lighted. T rn
the vol me control clockwise to increase the a dio so nd. Note that the
vol me control knob is only for adj sting the a dio vol me, not to in
crease the transm itting power.
2) Set the DELTA-TUNE for best réception.
3) T rn the sq elch control clockwise ntil incoming noise is eliminated. Do
not t rn it excessively as the sensitivity may be red ced.
4) T rn the sq elch control co nter-clockwise to switch off the ANL
(A tomatic Noise Limiter).
5) T rn the channel selector knob to the desired channel.
6) For transmitting, press the b tton on the microphone and speak into it
normally. Release the b tton for receiving.
METER
The meter reading indicates the signal strength at receiving, and f nctions as
an o tp t indicator at transmitting, and the meter pointer sho ld be within
the red zone nder the normal conditions.
CIRCUIT PROTECTION INDICATION LAMP
The lamp is on when the antenna is mismatched, and the transmitting circ it
will be e t off.
