CHARGE CONTROL OVERRIDE
Theheaterisequippedwithachargecontroloverridefeaturethatallowstheusertoforcetheheatertotargeta
fullcorechargelevel.Thisoverridecanbeinitiatedorcancelledatanytime.Ifanoverrideisinitiated,theheater
targetsafullcorechargelevelduringthenextoffpeakperiod.Itcontinuestochargeduringoffpeakhoursuntil
theheaterachievesfull(maximum)corechargeoruntiltheoverrideiscancelled.Oncefullchargeisachievedor
theoverrideiscancelled,theheaterchargesaccordingtoitsstandardconfiguration.
InitiatetheChargeControlOverride
Step1 PressandholdtheM,theuparrow,andthedownarrowbuttonsatthesametime.
Step 2 Thefaceplatedisplaywillflash“FULL”and“ON”.Continuetoholdallthreebuttonsuntil“ON”
displayscontinuouslyonthefaceplate.
Step 3 Releasethebuttons.Theoverrideisnowenabled.Thefaceplatewillreturntodisplayingitsstandard
operating mode.
CanceltheChargeControlOverride
Step1 PressandholdtheM,theuparrow,andthedownarrowbuttonsatthesametime.
Step 2 Thefaceplatedisplaywillflash“FULL”and“OFF”.Continuetoholdallthreebuttonsuntil“OFF”
displayscontinuouslyonthefaceplate.
Step 3 Releasethebuttons.Theoverrideisnowcancelled.Thefaceplatewillreturntodisplayingitsstandard
operating mode.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Aswithmostheatingsystems,airborneparticlesandodorsintheroommaybedrawnintotheheatingsystem
andoxidized.SincetheroomairpassesdirectlythroughthehotbrickcoreoftheETSheater,theoxidation
processwillchangethepropertiesoftheseparticlesandodors. Odors canbe amplified; thus, itis recom
mended not to operate the heating system if odors such as those from
paints, varnishes,or chemicals are present in the air. Allow the area to
becompletelyairedoutbeforeoperatingtheheater.
Asforairborneparticles,aftertheyhavebeenoxidizedtheyareexpelled
backintotheroomandmayaccumulateontheheaterorothersurfaces.Over
time,theseparticlesmayappearasablackresidue,commonlyreferredtoas
soot.Highconcentrationsofairborneparticlesfromsuchthingsasaerosols,
dust,candles,incense,pethair,highhumidity,smoke,orcookingcancon
tributetopoorindoorairqualityandacceleratethisprocess.Tominimize
theblackresiduebuildup,cleantheoutersurfaceoftheheateronaregular
basis.Washthecabinet,onlywhencool,withanonabrasivehousehold
cleaner.Donotusescouringpowdersorfurniturepolish.Steffesrecommendsusing"SoftScrubwithBleach"
brandcleanseroranequal.
Regularlyvacuumaroundallsidesoftheheater.Checkthebackoftheheatertomakesurenoobjectshave
fallenbehinditandthegrillareatomakesurethereisn'tanythingobstructingairflow.Checkallsidesofthe
heatertobesuretherequiredclearancesarenotbeingviolated.Objectsshouldneverbeplacedontopofthe
heater.
Noadditionalroutinemaintenanceisrequired;however,havingaprofessionalservicetechniciancleanthe
blowerperiodicallywilldecreasethelikelihoodofundesirableblowernoiseduetodustaccumulation.
