Before using your new Relay kit, please make sure to read this
instruction manual in order to avoid any malfunctions or misuse.
Please keep this manual for future reference.
IMPORTANT
In order to program this kit, you will require a parallel port interface
(K-400)
Do not expose this device to direct sunlight or to extreme
temperatures.
Do not use or store the kit anywhere it might get wet as this could
cause a malfunction.
This kit contains small parts. Do not leave it within the reach of
children.
Adult supervision is recommended when the kit is being assembled
because it requires soldering.
Always use a soft dry cloth in order to clean.
You must have circuit soldering skills to avoid damages in the
printed circuit.
Use a 30W soldering pen.

FEATURES
This kit is ideal for electronic students or hobbyists because it allows
them to develop creativity in the programming of this prototype of a
mechanical system.
This kit includes all the components necessary for building this
prototype.
Your new relay kit allows you to program, in different ways, the function
of four devices connected to the relay.
In the “Manual ABC de la Mecatrónica” you will nd examples for
programming the operation of one or several relays and the generation
of a sequence.

In order to install the transistors, pay special attention to the
numbering of the pins locating the collector pin.

INSTALLATION
Before beginning the assembly of this kit, it is necessary to have a
pencil type soldering iron and soldering solution. Adult supervision is
recommended during assembly
Place the resistances in their respective positions (R1-R4). Solder
the terminals on their underside and cut off the excess metal.
Place the diodes in their respective positions (D1-D4). Solder the
terminals on their underside and cut off the excess metal.
Place the DB9 connectors in their respective positions (J1-J2).
Make sure that the J1 is the jack and J2 the plug. Solder the
terminals on their underside and cut off the excess metal
Place the relays in their respective positions (K1-K4). Solder the
terminals on their underside and cut off the excess metal.
Place the transistors in their respective positions (Q1-Q4). Solder
the terminals on their underside and cut off the excess metal
Solder the power cables in their respective positions (BT1). The
power input voltage is 5 volts.

OPERATION OF THE RELAY KIT K-415
1. Never connect the relay kit K-415 to the computer if the relay kit
K-415 is connected to the power source.
2. Make sure the relay kit K-415 is powered off.
3. Once the relay kit K-415 is connected, make sure its supported by a
non-conducive surface and that this surface is free of any elements that
may cause a short circuit in the PCB circuit.
4. Make sure that the power cables are well connected and that the
power source is correct at 5 regulated volts.

WARRANTY
This Steren product is warranted under normal usage against defects in workmanship and
materials to the original purchaser for one year from the date of purchase.
CONDITIONS
1.- This warranty card with all the required information, invoice or purchase ticket, product
box or package, and product, must be presented when warranty service is required.
2.- If the product stills on the warranty time, the company will repair it free of charge.
3.- The repairing time will not exceed 30 natural days, from the day the claim was received.
4.- Steren sell parts, components, consumables and accessories to customer, as well as
warranty service, at any of the addresses mentioned later.
THIS WARRANTY IS VOID IN THE NEXT CASES:
If the product has been damaged by an accident, acts of God, mishandling, leaky batteries,
failure to follow enclosed instructions, improper repair by unauthorized personnel, improper
safe keeping, among others.
a) The consumer can also claim the warranty service in the purchase establishment.
b) If you lose the warranty card, we can reissue it, if you show the invoice or purchase ticket.
