Diese Gebrauchsanleitung betrifft
den folgenden Gehörschutz:
STIHL ADVANCE Vent und STIHL
ADVANCE X-Vent.
Der Gehörschutz soll den Benutzer
vor einer Gefährdung durch Lärm
schützen, vorausgesetzt der
Gehörschutz wird gemäß dieser
Gebrauchsanleitung am Helm
angebaut und verwendet. Eine
andere Verwendung, als wie in dieser
Gebrauchsanleitung beschrieben, ist
nicht zulässig.
Lesen Sie diese Gebrauchsanleitung
sorgfältig durch und bewahren Sie
alle Produktinformationen an einem
sicheren Platz auf, damit Sie auch
später noch darauf zurückgreifen
können.
Dieses Produkt entspricht der PSA-
Richtlinie 89/686 EWG und der PSA-
Verordnung (EU) 2016/425, um die
Anforderungen der CE-
Kennzeichnung zu erfüllen.

Alle Gehörschützer, für die diese
Gebrauchsanleitung gilt, haben
Federarme aus Thermoplast und
schaumstoffgefüllte
Dichtungskissen.
Dieser Gehörschutz darf nur an dem
Helm STIHL ADVANCE Vent oder
STIHL ADVANCE X-Vent angebaut
und verwendet werden.
Der Gehörschutz ist für den Einsatz
bei der Arbeit mit Motorsägen
konzipiert (z. B. Holzernte). Für
andere Verwendungen kann keine
Aussage über das Schutzniveau
getroffen werden.
Um den höchsten Komfort und
Schutz dieses Gehörschutzes zu
gewährleisten, sollten Sie
► Den Gehörschutz gemäß den
untenstehenden Anweisungen
einstellen, benutzen und pflegen.
► Regelmäßig überprüfen, dass der
Gehörschutz keine abgenutzten
Teile oder Risse aufweist. Gewisse
chemische Substanzen können
eine zerstörerische Wirkung auf
diesen Gehörschutz haben.
► Gehörschutz vor jeder Benutzung
auf einwandfreien Zustand
überprüfen (beispielsweise
optischer Zustand des
Gehörschutzes). Bei Schäden oder
Veränderungen den Gehörschutz
unverzüglich entsorgen.
WARNUNG
￭ Falls die Anweisungen dieser
Gebrauchsanleitung nicht beachtet
werden, kann die Schutzwirkung
stark abnehmen.

￭ Die volle Schutzwirkung lässt sich
nur dann erreichen, wenn man in
einer lauten Umgebung den
Gehörschutz ständig trägt.
￭ Sicherstellen, das die Funktion des
Gehörschutzes regelmäßig
überprüft wird.
￭ Jegliche Veränderungen des
Gehörschutzes können die
Schutzwirkung negativ
beeinflussen.
► Deshalb keinesfalls
Veränderungen am Gehörschutz
vornehmen.
► Veränderten Gehörschutz
unverzüglich entsorgen.
￭ Kein Gehörschutz kann absoluten
Schutz vor Gehörschädigungen
bieten. Der Grad der
Schutzwirkung hängt von
verschiedenen Einflüssen ab, wie
z.B. Dauer der Benutzung und
Frequenz der Lärmquelle.
￭ Dieser Gehörschutz ist kein Ersatz
für eine sichere Arbeitstechnik.
Unsachgemäßer Gebrauch des
Motorgerätes kann zu Unfällen
führen.
► Deshalb unbedingt
Sicherheitsbestimmungen der
entsprechenden Behörden
(Berufsgenossenschaften o. a.)
und Sicherheitshinweise in der
Bedienungsanleitung des
benutzen Motorgerätes
beachten.
￭ Bei angelegtem Gehörschutz ist
das Wahrnehmen von Gefahr
ankündigenden Geräuschen
(Schreie, Signaltöne u.a.)
eingeschränkt.
► Mit erhöhter Achtsamkeit und
Umsicht arbeiten.
► Die Verwendung eines Schweiß-
/Hygieneschutz über den
Dichtungskissen kann die
Geräuschdämpfungseigenschaft
en des Gehörschutzes
verringern.
￭Gehörschutzkapseln nach EN 352-
3 sind mittelgroß, klein oder groß.
Gehörschutzkapseln mittlerer
Größe passen den meisten
Benutzern. Gehörschutzkapseln
mit kleiner oder großer Größe sind
für Benutzer geeignet, denen die
mittlere Größe nicht passt.
Gehörschutz einstellen
► Gehörschutzkapseln auf die Ohren
setzen und alle Haare zwischen
Ohr und Dichtungskissen
entfernen.
► Gehörschutzkapseln an die Ohren
drücken, A, bis die Stellung der
Gehörschutzkapseln hörbar
einrastet.
► Um die Ohren muss ein
gleichmäßiger Druck spürbar sein.
► Gehörschutzkapseln so einstellen,
dass sie bequem und sicher sitzen
und die Ohren vollständig
umschließen.

WARNUNG
Dieser am Helm angebaute
Gehörschutz ist geeignet für
Personen mit mittlerem bis großem
Kopfumfang (56-64 cm) und mit
mittlerem bis großem Abstand
zwischen Kopfoberkante und
Gehörgangmitte. Ein geringerer
Abstand kann zu einem
unsachgemäßen Sitz führen und die
Dämpfungseigenschaften des
Gehörschutzes verringern.
Achtung: Die Schutzwirkung ist nicht
voll gegeben, wenn die
Dichtungskissen der
Gehörschutzkapseln nicht direkt am
Kopf anliegen (z. B. durch ein dickes
Brillengestell, einen dichten Bart,
eine Sturmhaube, etc.).
Pflege und Reinigung
► Der Gehörschutz und die
Dichtungskissen werden abgenutzt
und müssen regelmäßig
kontrolliert und ggf. ersetzt
werden.
► Mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel
(Seife) reinigen. Das verwendete
Reinigungsmittel darf die Haut
nicht reizen.
► Unsachgemäße Reinigung und
Pflege kann die Schutzwirkung des
Gehörschutzes negativ
beeinflussen, deshalb nur wie
vorgeschrieben Reinigen und
Pflegen.
Gehörschutz wechseln
► Gehörschutzkapseln abnehmen,
B, und neue
Gehörschutzkapseln einsetzen bis
diese einrasten.

– für ADVANCE Vent:

– für ADVANCE X-Vent:

Dichtungskissen sollten abhängig
von der Nutzungsdauer regelmäßig
ausgetauscht werden.
► Wählen Sie den richtigen
Hygienesatz für Ihren
Gehörschutz.
► Nur Original STIHL Ersatzteile
verwenden.
Hygienesatz wechseln:
►Altes Dichtungskissen abziehen,
C.
► Schaumstoffeinsatz entnehmen,
D, und neuen
Schaumstoffeinsatz einsetzen.
►Neues Dichtungskissen über der
Gehörschutzkapsel positionieren
und ausrichten, E.
►Dichtungskissen an den
Außenkanten fest andrücken,
F, bis er rundum an der
Gehörschutzkapsel anliegt.
Aufbewahrung und Transport
Eine geeignete Verpackung schützt
den Gehörschutz während des
Transports.

► Gehörschutz vorzugsweise in der
Originalverpackung in einem gut
belüfteten, trockenen Raum
aufbewahren.
► Nicht extremen Temperaturen,
Flüssigkeiten oder UV-Strahlung
aussetzen.

following hearing protection:
STIHL ADVANCE Vent and STIHL
ADVANCE X-Vent.
The hearing protector is intended to
protect the wearer from hazardous
noise levels when fitted in
accordance with this Instruction
Manual. Any other uses are not
intended and therefore not allowed.
Read this Instruction Manual through
carefully and keep all the product
information in a safe place so that
you can refer to it at any time.
This product is in compliance with the
PPE Directive 89/686 EEC and the
PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 to
fulfil the requirements of CE marking.

All ear protectors to which this
Instruction Manual applies have
thermoplastic spring arms and foam-
filled pads.
This ear protection may only be
attached to and used with the
STIHL ADVANCE Vent or
STIHL ADVANCE X-Vent helmet.
The ear protection is designed for
use when working with chain saws
(e.g. timber harvesting). The level of
protection in other applications
cannot be predicted.
To ensure maximum comfort and
protection when using this hearing
protection:
► Adjust, use and maintain the
hearing protection in accordance
with the instructions below.
► Check the ear protection regularly
for any worn parts or cracks.
Certain chemicals can have a
destructive effect on this ear
protection.
User Information

► Check each time before using the
ear protection that it is in perfect
condition (for example, visual state
of ear protection). If the ear
protection is damaged or has
altered, it must be disposed of
immediately.
WARNING
￭ The protective effect may be
significantly reduced if the
information and instructions
provided in this Instruction Manual
are not observed.
￭ The full protective effect can only
be achieved if the hear protection
is worn at all times when in a noisy
environment.
￭ Ensure that the hearing protectors
are regularly inspected for
serviceability.
￭ Any modifications to the hearing
protection can impair the protective
effect.
► Therefore do not modify the
hearing protection in any way.
► If the hearing protection has
been modified it must be
disposed of immediately.
￭ No hearing protection can ensure
total protection against hearing
damage. The level of protection
depends on various factors, such
as the duration of use and
frequency of the noise source.
￭ This hearing protection is no
substitute for a safe working
technique. Improper use of a
power tool can result in accidents.
► It is therefore essential to
observe the safety regulations
issued by the respective
authorities (employer’s liability
insurance associations, etc.) and
the safety instructions in the
Instruction Manual of the power
tool being used.
￭ The perception of sounds
indicating potential danger (shouts,
audible warnings, etc.) is restricted
when wearing ear protection.
► Pay increased attention and take
greater care.
► Use of perspiration/hygienic
protection over the sealing rings
can reduce the hearing
protector’s noise attenuation
properties.
￭ Earmuffs complying with EN 352-3
are of medium size range or small
size range or large size range.
Medium size range earmuffs will fit
the majority of wearers. Small size
range or large size range earmuffs
are designed to fit wearers for
whom medium size range earmuffs
are not suitable.
Adjusting the hearing protection
► Place the ear defenders over your
ears and remove all hair between
your ear and the pad of the ear
defender.
► Press the hearing protectors
against your ears, A, until the
hearing protectors audibly engage
in position.

► An even pressure should be felt all
round the ears.
► Adjust the hearing protectors so
that they sit comfortably and
securely and they cover your ears
completely.
WARNING
These helmet mounted hearing
protectors are suitable for persons
with medium to large headsize
circumference (56-64 cm) and with
medium to large height from the top
of the head to the center of the ear
canal. A smaller height may lead to
improper fit and may reduce the
hearing protector’s noise attenuation
properties.
Important: The full protective effect is
not ensured unless the pads of the
ear defenders fit closely against your
head (thick spectacle frames, a
dense beard, balaclava helmet, etc.
can prevent this).
Maintenance and cleaning
► The hearing protection and pads
wear with use and they should be
inspected regularly and replaced if
necessary.
► Clean with a mild detergent (soap).
The detergent used must not
irritate the skin.
► Incorrect cleaning and
maintenance can impair the
protective effect of the ear
protection. Therefore only clean
and maintain it as specified.
Replacing the hearing protection
► Remove the hearing protection,
B, and insert new hearing
protectors until they engage in
position.

– for ADVANCE Vent:

Pads should be replaced regularly,
depending on the duration of use.
► Choose the appropriate hygiene
set for your ear protection.
► Always use original STIHL parts.
Replacing the hygiene set:
► Pull off old pad, C.
► Remove foam insert, D, and
insert new foam insert.
► Position new pad over ear
defender and align, E.
► Press outer edges of pad firmly,
F, until pad lies snugly against
ear defender all the way round.
Storage and transport
Suitable packaging protects the ear
protection during transport.
► The ear protection should
preferably be stored in its original
packaging in a well ventilated, dry
room.
► Do not expose to extreme
temperatures, liquids or UV
radiation.
