Quick Guide
Programming
A salvo tour is a series of predefined video
switches, displaying on various monitors. Each step
in the tour is a salvo.
In this example, salvo 6 simultaneously displays
camera 2 on monitor 1, camera 11 on monitor 2
and camera 40 on monitor 6, for 1 second. Then
the second salvo runs, displaying the predefined
video on the monitors for 4 seconds, and so forth.
For complete instructions, see Instruction Manual X834.

displaying on a single monitor.
In this example, monitor 1 displays camera 1 for 1 second, then

Quick Guide
Frequently Asked Questions
For complete instructions, see Instruction Manuals X826 and X834.
What is necessary in order to view the on-screen menu system?
Make sure you are viewing the monitor and camera that have been designated as the edit camera and edit monitor (default is
camera 1 and monitor 1). Consult Programming Manual X834 for proper setup of your unit.
How do you get cameras to sequence?
There is no specific camera sequence program in this unit. You must create a tour of the cameras you want to sequence and then
run the tour.
When the F1 and Seq keys are pressed at the same time, a monitor tour is activated instead of the menu
system. Why?
The Seq key is used to run a monitor tour. The F1 key is being ignored and the Seq key is being processed because you have
previously set your system to require a login ID. The correct login ID must be entered in order to program the unit. Enter the ID
and then press the Home key. You may also be required to enter a passcode. Now press and hold the F1 key and then press the
Seq key to display the Main Menu.
If a login ID or passcode is lost or forgotten, what should I do?
Call Vicon Technical Services at 1-800-34-VICON and the technician will assist you by giving you a sequence of special keys to
be pressed. Two lines of code will be displayed which will enable the technician to decipher the code(s).
I have entered a login ID and now wish to manually log off the system. How do I do that?
Back out of the menu system until the Main Menu is displayed. Press and hold the F1 key. Then press the Bypass key.
When I connect a camera to the V1422 and loop that signal to another device, will the Time/Date/Titling
information be overlaid on the video?
No. The Time/Date/Titling information is generated by the V1422 and only appears on the monitor outputs. A loop out signal is
a continuation of the input signal. Be sure that all inputs are terminated at the V1422 or at the final device in the loop.
I have fed a signal from the V1422 to a VCR but do not see a “termination” switch or plug on the VCR.
How do I terminate the signal?
All VCRs automatically terminate the signal fed to them. No termination switch or connector is necessary.
While sequencing cameras on the monitors, the images roll from one to the next before locking in. What
is the problem?
The cameras need to be synchronized to have roll-free switching on the monitors. Refer to the camera instruction manual.
