LoopStar®750

Cost-Effective Ethernet/TDM Services at the Metro Edge

With customers demanding higher speed Ethernet services at lower price points, carriers are

looking for ways to offer new services while maintaining the current revenue streams from existing

services. In addition, service providers would like to extend the life of current infrastructures and

be able to migrate to the next generation of networks at the appropriate time. ADC’s LoopStar®

700 product family addresses all of these requirements with a cost-effective, multiservice access

platform designed specifically to enable new customer edge applications while maintaining the

viability of current services and infrastructures.

The LoopStar 750 is optimized for medium to large enterprises, multi-tenant buildings or service

aggregation. This powerful unit is NEBS 3 certified and accommodates up to four plug-in interface

cards with a full range of Ethernet and TDM interfaces to support a variety of

multiservice applications:

• Ethernet services over DS1, DS3 and SONET/SDH

• Multiservice Gigabit Ethernet

• T1, E1 or J1 transport over packet networks

• Transparent LAN service

• Supports Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)

• Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS)

Benefits

• Reduces capital, operational and

provisioning expenses

• Increases revenue through new data services

• Achieves quick return on investment

• Extends life of existing network investments

• Provides migration path to next generation

IP/MPLS networks

• Transports ILEC-quality T1/E1/J1 services

without compromise

• Low cost, flexible, easy to manage

and faster to provision

• Compact, reliable stackable solution

• Centralized management and provisioning

saves significant time and money

LoopStar®750

Cost-Effective Ethernet/TDM Services at the Metro Edge

Innovation for Next Generation Ethernet and IP Services

Based on a flexible, IP-centric architecture, the LoopStar 750 uses programmable processors to support

new protocols, interfaces and features as they emerge. Incorporating ADC’s suite of management tools,

the LoopStar 750 can support diverse topologies, scale quickly and easily as the network evolves, and

deliver differentiated services on a per-customer basis.

With this versatile platform, the LoopStar 750 enables service providers to:

• Deliver high-speed, business-class Ethernet services (such as Internet access, transparent LAN, storage,

VLANs and tag stacking for traffic management, and VPLS).

• Support traditional T1 (E1 or J1) circuit-based voice/data/video services over Ethernet/IP with the same

no compromise quality and robustness as a circuit delivered in native TDM over SONET/SDH.

• Use their installed SONET/SDH or Ethernet networks to support traditional voice and leased-

line traffic, while moving toward a data-optimized network that can keep pace with customers’

bandwidth needs.

• Transport multiservice traffic efficiently across a single network to reach all customers with the same

services and the same service levels.

With the management suite’s full range of performance statistics, fault indication, loopback diagnostics,

and differentiated service provisioning and definition, the LoopStar 750 allows service providers to

create a secure, reliable network that resolves today’s multiservice challenges while setting the stage for

migration to next-generation networking.
