1. DESCRIPTION
1.1. The DAB2008C01
The DAB2008C01 is a module from the TL2000 family that extracts eight channels of
analog audio from the AUDIOFLEX bus.
AUDIOFLEX is an internal bus provided by the UR2000 mounting frame that is formed by
two lines: M2S (Master to Slave) and S2M (Slave to Master), that interconnect all the
slots of the frame. Each of the two lines can multiplex up to 64 channels of audio
sampled at 24 bits, 48kHz grouped in eight time slots, each of which contains eight
audio channels.
The DAB2008C01 de-multiplexes eight audio channels from one of the AUDIOFLEX bus
lines and converts them to analog with a full scale level of 22dBu. It employs 24 bit
converters operating at the 48kHz sampling frequency of the AUDIOFLEX bus.
The ADB2008C01, DAB2008C01, DDB2008C01, DEB2008C01 and IMB2000C01 were all
designed to operate together using the two lines of the AUDIOFLEX bus such that when
they are properly configured they create a multiple audio format audio switching matrix
compatible with analog audio, AES/EBU, AES67 and MADI.
The module includes an audio processing unit between the AUDIOFLEX bus and the
external connections that permits adjustment of the level and phase reversal for each of
the audio channels. The gain adjustment runs from 24 to -39dB in 0.5dB steps and can
also be muted.
In order to operate properly, the DAB2008C01 module requires a reference signal that it
takes from the internal 13.5MHz synchronization bus of the UR2000 mounting frame.
This signal can be generated by a GNSS receiver module such as the GPS2000C01 if one
is installed in the same frame or the module itself can function as the AUDIOFLEX bus
master, which is usually the case for the IMB2000C01.
It is possible to monitor the DAB2008C01 status remotely using a communications
controller module installed in the same mounting frame. In addition, certain controller
modules provide SNMP management and the ability to record events in a file including
date and time information for further analysis.
The DAB2008C01 is a TL2000 terminal line module and can be housed in a two rack unit
(2 RU) UR2000 mounting frame.

1.2. Features
•Analog audio output interface for the AUDIOFLEX bus of the UR2000 mounting frame
from the TL2000 family.
•AUDIOFLEX is a data bus that is formed by two lines: M2S (Master to Slave) and S2M
(Slave to Master), that interconnect all the slots of a UR2000 mounting frame. Each of
the two lines can multiplex up to 64 channels of audio sampled at 24 bits, 48kHz
grouped in eight time slots, each of which contains eight audio channels.
• The module includes eight balanced analog audio outputs.
•The analog audio outputs are obtained by de-multiplexing eight audio channels from a
time slot of the AUDIOFLEX M2S line and converting them the analog with a full scale
level of 22dBu.
•The module includes an audio processing unit that can adjust the level and reverse the
phase of any of the audio channels.
•The module supervises the signal level of all the audio channels that it uses.
Furthermore, an overload threshold can be set so that an alarm is generated is any of
the channels surpasses the set threshold.
• Provides 16 presets for storing the module's configuration.
•Module control and supervision can be done remotely when the mounting frame is
equipped with a communications controller module.
• Low power.
