1.1 Welcome!
Thank you for buying an ASUS 4G-N12 Wireless LTE Router!
ASUS 4G-N12 Wireless LTE Router features a 4G network module,
letting you insert a SIM/USIM card to access and share your 4G LTE
or 3G network connection via a secure wireless network or any of
the four Ethernet ports. It oers a download speed of 100 Mbps
and upload speed of 50 Mbps for fast Internet access, seamless
media streaming, or easy data transfer.

1.3 Your wireless router
LTE signal strength LED 1~4
1 lit LED: Very weak signal;
2 lit LEDs: Weak signal;
3 lit LEDs: Normal signal;
4 lit LEDs: Strong signal.
Power LED
O: No power.
On: Device is ready.
Internet LED
O: No LTE connection.
Flashing: Establishing a LTE/Ethernet WAN connection.
On: Has a proper LTE/Ethernet WAN connection.
Data LED (LTE/Ethernet WAN Trac)
O: No data activity.
On: Data connection is ready.
Wi-Fi LED
O: No 2.4GHz signal.
On:Wireless system is ready.
LAN LED
O: No power or no physical connection.
On: Ethernet connection is established.

NOTES:
• Useonlytheadapterthatcamewithyourpackage.Usingother
adapters may damage the device.
• EnsuretoinserttheSIMcardintothecardslotbeforepoweringon
the router.

USIM Card LED
O: No USIM card is installed.
On: A USIM card is installed properly.
USIM card slot
Install a USIM card into this slot to establish a WAN LTE connection.
Power button
Press this button to power on or off the stystem.
Power (DC-IN) port
Insert the bundled AC adapter into this port and connect your router to a power source.
Reset button
Press this button for 5 seconds or longer to reset or restore the system to its
factory default settings.
WAN/LAN port
Using an Ethernet cable, connect your modem to the WAN/LAN port of your wireless
router.
LAN ports
Connect network cables into these ports to establish LAN connection.
WPS button
This button launches the WPS Wizard.

1.4 Positioning your router
For the best wireless signal transmission between the wireless
router and the devices connected to it, ensure that you:
• PlacetheWirelessLTERouternearawindowtoreceivethebest
LTE signal quality for maximum upstream performance with an
LTE base station.
• Keepthedeviceawayfrommetalobstructionsandawayfrom
direct sunlight.
• DonotplacetheWirelessLTERouterinadustyorwet
environment.
• Keepthedeviceawayfrom802.11gor20MHz-onlyWi-Fi
devices, 2.4GHz computer peripherals, Bluetooth devices,
cordlessphones,transformers,heavy-dutymotors,fluorescent
lights, microwave ovens, refrigerators, and other industrial
equipment to prevent signal interference or loss.
• Alwaysupdatetothelatestfirmware.VisittheASUSwebsiteat
http://www.asus.com to get the latest firmware updates.
• Toensurethebestwirelesssignal,orientthetwoantennasas
shown in the drawing below.

1.5 Setup requirements
To set up your wireless network, you need to meet the following
requirements:
• AminiSIM/USIMcardwithWCDMAandLTEsubscription
• AnADSL/cablemodemwithInternetsubscription
• AcomputerwithEthernetRJ-45(LAN)port(10Base-
T/100Base-TX) or a Wi-Fi-enableddevicewitha2.4 GHz
802.11 b/g/n wireless interface
• WebbrowsersuchasInternetExplorer,Firefox,Safari,or
Google Chrome
NOTE: A standard SIM/USIM card is a standard mini SIM card.
IMPORTANT! Ensure that your SIM/USIM card is subscribed to WCDMA
and LTE services. Contact your mobile service provider about these
services.
CAUTION! Use only a standard SIM/USIM card on your router. Using a
dierent form of SIM card, such a micro or nano SIM card, may damage
your router.

1.6 Router Setup
WARNING!
• AvoidinstallingyourWirelessLTERouterduringanelectricalstorm.
There may be a remote risk of electrical shock caused by lightning.
• Donottrytodisassembleorreassemblethisdevice.Tamperingwith
your Wireless LTE Router might void its warranty.
• Whenmountingorcleaningthedevice,ensuretounplugthepower
cord from your Wireless LTE Router.
• KeepyourhandsdrywhenhandlingyourWirelessLTERouterto
avoid any possible electrical shock.
NOTES:
• Ifyourcomputerdoesnothavebuilt-inwirelesscapabilities,you
may install an IEEE 802.11 b/g/n WLAN adapter to your computer to
connect to the network.
• DonotplugaphonejackintoanRJ-45port.Thismaydamagethe
Wireless LTE Router.
• TheEthernetRJ-45cablesthatwillbeusedtoconnectthenetwork
devices should not exceed 100 meters.
