Images will not be protected if you switch to Shooting mode or turn

the camera off before finishing the setup process in step 3.

Protecting images

Protect the images.

Press the v button to choose [Protect], and

then press the @ button.

You can choose and erase unneeded images one by one. Be careful when

erasing images, because they cannot be recovered.

Choose an image to erase.

Press the _F buttons or turn the ;_ii_ dial to

choose an image.

Erase the image.

Press the v button.

After [Erase?] is displayed, press the 4),

buttons or turn the _' _: dial to choose [Erase],

and then press the @ button.

The current image is now erased.

To cancel erasure, press the _ buttons or

turn the _i_,ii_dial to choose [Cancel], and then

press the'_ button.

_J Erasing images

All

You can erase all images at once. Be careful when erasing images, because

they cannot be recovered. Protected images (p. 159) cannot be erased.

® Choosing a Selection Method

Access the setting screen.

Press the MENUbutton, and then choose

[Erase] on the [] tab (p. 40).

Choose aselection method.

Choose a menu item and a setting as desired

(p. 40).

To return to the menu screen, press the MENU

button.

Choose [Select].

Following step 2 on p. 163, choose [Select]

and press the @ button.

Choose an image.

Once you follow step 2 on p. 160 to choose

an image, _/ is displayed.

To cancel erasure, press the @ button

again. _/ is no longer displayed.

Repeat this process to specify other images.

Erase the image.

Press the MENUbutton. A confirmation

message is displayed.

........Press the 4_' buttons or turn the _!_i_:dial to

choose [OK], and then press the @ button.

@Selecting aRange

: Choose [Select Range].

Following step 2 on p. 163, choose [Select

Range] and press the @ button.

Follow steps 2 - 3 on p. 161 to specify

images.

Erase the images.

Press the v button to choose [Erase], and

then press the @ button.

Rotating images

@Specifying All images at Once

Choose [Select All images].

Following step 2 on p. 163, choose [Select All

Images] and press the @ button.

Erase the images.

Press the 4_ buttons or turn the _iii dial to

choose [OK], and then press the @ button.

Change the orientation of images and save them as follows.

;;:; Choose 9.

Press the @ button, and then choose _ in

the menu (p. 39).

Rotate the image.

Press the _ or _ button, depending on the

desired direction. Each time you press the

button, the image is rotated 90 °. Press the

@ button to complete the setting.

Choose [Rotate].

Press the MENU button, and then choose

[Rotate] on the [] tab (p. 40).

Rotate the image.

Press the {_ buttons or turn the _ii_i dial to

choose an image.

The image is rotated 90 ° each time you press

the @ button.

To return to the menu screen, press the MENU

button.

(_) Movies with an image quality of _ or _'_ cannot be rotated.

Rotation is not possible when [Auto Rotate] is set to [Off] (see below).

Follow these steps to deactivate automatic rotation by the camera, which

rotates images shot in vertical orientation so they are displayed vertically on

the camera.

Press the MENU button, choose [Auto

Rotate] on the [] tab, and then choose [Off]

(p. 40).

image Categories

(_ Images cannot be rotated (p. 165) when you set [Auto Rotate] to

[Off]. Additionally, images already rotated wi[[ be displayed in the

original orientation.

In Smart Shuffle (p. 158) mode, even if [Auto Rotate] is set to [Off],

images shot vertically will be displayed vertically, and rotated images

will be displayed in the rotated orientation.

You can tag images as favorites and assign them to My Category (p. 168). By

choosing a category in image search, you can restrict the following operations

to all of those images.

Viewing (p. 91), Viewing Slideshows (p. 156), Protecting Images (p. 159),

Erasing Images (p. 163), Adding Images to the Print List (DPOF) (p. 210),

Adding Images to a Photobook (p. 214)

Favorites

Press the @ button, and then choose "_r in

the menu (p. 39).

[Tagged as Favorite] is displayed.

To untag the image, repeat this process and

choose _" again, and then press the @

button.
