Verbindung des Erweiterungsmoduls A-127BOM mit dem Hauptmodul A-127
•Schalten Sie die Stromversorgung des A-100-Rahmens ab, in dem das Hauptmodul A-127 eingebaut ist.
•Bauen Sie das Modul A-127 aus dem Rahmen aus und ziehen Sie das Busverbindungskabel ab.
•Ziehen Sie die zu JP1 jeder der 3 LFO/Filter-Platinen führenden 10-poligen Kabel (Stromversorgung) ab, damit man
besser die Steckverbinder JP4 erreicht, über die die Verbindung zu der Erweiterungsplatine hergestellt wird.
•Entfernen Sie die auf JP4 jeder A-127-LFO/Filter-Platine aufgesteckte Steckbrücke (Jumper). Normalerweise steckt
diese auf der Position B (Bandpass).
•Verbinden Sie die drei 10-poligen von dem Modul A-127BOM kommenden kurzen Flachbandkabel mit JP4 der
LFO/Filter-Platinen:
•das von JP3 (A-127BOM) kommende Kabel mit JP4 der oberen LFO/Filter-Platine
•das von JP5 (A-127BOM) kommende Kabel mit JP4 der mittleren LFO/Filter-Platine
•das von JP7 (A-127BOM) kommende Kabel mit JP4 der unteren LFO/Filter-Platine
•Achten Sie auf die richtige Ausrichtung der farbig markierten Ader jedes Flachbandkabels:
•bei JP4 auf den A-127 LFO/Filter-Platinen muss die farbig markierte Ader zum rechten Platinenrand hin weisen
(siehe Skizzen und Fotos)
•bei JP3/JP5/JP7 auf der A-127BOM-Platine müssen die farbig markierten Adern zur rechten Seite hin weisen
(siehe Skizzen und Fotos)
•Stecken Sie die drei zuvor abgezogenen Stromversorgungskabel auf JP1 jeder LFO/Filter-Platine des Hauptmoduls A-
127 wieder auf (diese wurden zuvor abgezogen, um die Steckverbinder JP4 besser zu erreichen).
•Stecken Sie die Steckbrücke auf die gewünschte Position von JP2/JP4/JP6 der Platine A-127BOM, je nachdem
welcher Filtertyp (Tiefpass, Hochpass, Bandpass, Kerbfilter/Notch) dem Mischausgang des Hauptmoduls A-127
zugeführt werden soll. Ab Werk ist die Steckbrücke in der Position Bandpass aufgesteckt.
•Verbinden Sie die Busverbindungskabel des Hauptmoduls A-127 und des Erweiterungsmoduls A-127BOM mit der
Busplatine (die Stromversorgung bleibt dabei noch immer ausgeschaltet !).
•Montieren Sie das Hauptmodul A-127 und direkt rechts daneben das Erweiterungsmodul in dem A-100 Rahmen.
•Schalten Sie die Stromversorgung ein und prüfen Sie die einwandfreie Funktion beider Module.
Hinweis: Diese Art der Verbindung funktioniert erst ab der Version 4/2012 des A-127 Hauptmoduls. Die Verbindung zu
älteren Versionen des Moduls erfordert Lötarbeiten. Fordern Sie ggf. nähere Unterlagen hierzu bei uns an oder senden Sie
uns Ihr Modul A-127 ein, damit die Anpassung bei uns erfolgen kann. Die Kosten hierfür werden nach Zeitaufwand in
Rechnung gestellt. Bei den Versionen 1 (produziert bis 1998) und 2 (produziert bis 2001) ist der Anschluss nicht, bzw. nur
mit Einschränkungen möglich, da hier der Hochpass und damit auch das Kerbfilter/Notch nicht verfügbar sind. Bei Version
3 sind Tiefpass, Bandpass und Filter-Rückführung an einer 3-poligen Stiftleiste verfügbar, an die 3 Adern des vom A-
127BOM kommenden Flachbandkabels angelötet werden müssen. Auch der Hochpass ist in der Schaltung vorhanden, der
betreffende Lötpunkt muss aber identifiziert und dort eine weitere Ader des Flachbandkabels angelötet werden.

Connecting the breakout module A-127BOM to the main module A-127
•Switch off the power supply of the A-100 case which holds the main module A-127
•Disassemble the A-127 main module from the A-100 case and disconnect the bus cable from the A-100 bus board
•Disconnect the three 10 wire power supply ribbon cable which leads to the pin header JP1 of each of the three
LFO/filter boards of the A-127 main module. That way you have easier access to the pin headers JP4 which are used
to connect the A-127BOM module to the A-127 main module
•Remove the jumpers that are installed on the pin headers JP4 of the three LFO/filter boards of the A-127 main module.
Usually they are in position B (bandpass) unless the factory setting has been changed.
•Connect the three 10 wire ribbon cables coming from the breakout module A-127BOM to JP4 of the three LFO/filter
boards of the A-127 main module:
•Connect the cable coming from JP3 of A-127BOM to JP4 of the upper LFO/filter board of the A-127 main module
•Connect the cable coming from JP5 of A-127BOM to JP4 of the middle LFO/filter board of the A-127 main module
•Connect the cable coming from JP7 of A-127BOM to JP4 of the bottom LFO/filter board of the A-127 main module
•Pay attention to the correct polarity of each ribbon cable (correct position of the red wire):
•JP4 A-127 LFO/filter boards: the red wire has to be aligned to the right side of the filter board (see sketches and
pictures)
•JP3/JP5/JP7 A-127BOM board: the red wire has to be aligned to the right side (see sketches and pictures)
•Reinstall the three 10 wire power supply ribbon cables to JP1 of each LFO/filter board (these have been removed
earlier for easier access to the pin headers JP4).
•Change the position of the jumper installed to JP2/JP4/JP6 of the A-127BOM board if required. The factory setting is
bandpass. If another filter type has to be used for the mix signal of the A-127 main module the jumper has to be moved
to the position in question (lowpass, highpass, notch).
•Connect the bus cables of the A-127 main module and the breakout module A-127BOM to the A-100 bus board in the
right way (i.e. red wire to the bottom, all 16 pins have align exactly to the female connector without horizontal or vertical
displacement). The power supply of the A-100 case still turned off !
•Assemble the A-127 main module and next to it at the right side the breakout module A-127BOM. Pay attention not to
damage or pinch the ribbon cables between the main module and the breakout module.
•Turn on the power of the A-100 case and check the correct function of both modules.
Note: This kind of connection works only from version 4/2012 of the A-127 main module. Connecting older versions of the
A-127 main module requires electronic experience because soldering is required. In this case please contact us for detailed
information about the connections between older version of the A-127 main module and the breakout module. You may
also send in the module for modification. In this case the working time required to carry out the modification will be charged.
For version 1 (manufactured until 1998) and version 2 (manufactured until 2001) of the A-127 main module not all features
of the breakout module are available. The reason is the missing highpass output for these early versions. The highpass is
also required for the notch filter. Consequently only lowpass and bandpass are available for these versions. From version 3
the highpass is available on the pc board but has to be identified and wired manually.

Connecting older versions of A-127 to the breakout module A-127BOM
Bei den älteren Version des A-127 ist die Steckverbindung JP4 auf den Filterplatinen nicht vorhanden. Die Verbindungen
zwischen A-127 und A-127BOM müssen daher frei verdrahtet werden. Hierzu schneidet man das 10-polige
Flachbandkabel knapp an der Buchsenleiste ab, trennt das Flachbandkabel auf und isoliert jede Ader einzeln ab. Dann
verbindet man die entsprechende Ader mit dem Anschlusspunkt L, B, H oder R auf der Filterplatine. Die Verbindung der
Masse (G) ist nicht unbedingt nötig, da die Masseverbindung beider Module auch über den Bus hergestellt wird.
Auf den folgenden Seiten sind die älteren Filterplatinen abgebildet und die betreffenden Anschlusspunkte markiert. Bei den
Versionen 1 und 2 fehlt er Hochpass (H). Bei diesen Versionen sind daher die Ausgänge Hochpass und Notch nicht
verfügbar.
The older versions of A-127 do not yet have the connector JP4 on the filter boards available. The connections between the
filter boards and the A-127BOM module have to be made manually by soldering. For this the 10 pin ribbon cable is cut near
the second female connector. The wires with the functions B, L, H and R have to be connected to the corresponding point
at the filter boards manually. It is not necessary to connect GND (G) because this connection is already available via the A-
100 bus. The high pass (H) is not available for the very first versions 1 and 2 of the A-127. Consequently the outputs
highpass and notch are not available. On the following pages the corresponding points are shown for the older filter boards.
