IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON
BODY TEMPERATURE AND ITS
MEASUREMENT
About Normal Body Temperature & Fever
The temperature in the forehead and temple areas diers from
the internal body temperature, which is taken orally or rectally.
Vasoconstriction, an eect which narrows the blood vessels
and cools the skin, can occur during the early stages of a fever.
Therefore, if the reading does not match the patient’s own per-
ception or is unusually low, repeat the measurement every 15
minutes. As a reference, you can also measure the internal body
temperature using a conventional oral or rectal thermometer.
Body temperature can vary from one individual/person to anoth-
er. It also varies by location on the body and time of day. The
charts below show the statistical normal ranges from dierent
sites and in dierent ages. Please keep in mind that tempera-
tures measured in dierent places, even at the same time,
should not be directly compared. Fever indicates that body tem-
perature is higher than normal. This symptom may be caused by
infection, overdressing or immunization. Some people may not
experience fever even when they are ill. These cases include
but are not limited to infants younger than 3 months old, people
with compromised immune systems, people taking antibiotics,
steroids or antipyretics (aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen), or
people with certain chronic illnesses. Please consult your physi-
cian when you feel ill even if you do not have fever.
Normal Temperature Ranges in Dierent Ages
0-2 years old 36.4°C-38°C
3-10 years old 36.1°C-37.8°C
11-65 years old 35.9°C-37.6°C
Above 65 years old 35.8°C-37.7°C
Normal Temperature Ranges for Dierent Sites
Ear temperature 35.8°C-38°C
Oral temperature 35.5°C-37.5°C
Forehead temperature 34.5°C-38°C
Axillary temperature 34.7°C-37.3°C
Rectal temperature 36.6°C-38°C

ADVANTAGES OF INFRARED
FOREHEAD THERMOMETER,
MODEL MI-200
Important Information
This thermometer is clinically proven to produce accurate tem-
perature measurements. It is intended for home use as a tool for
measuring and monitoring human body temperature. This ther-
mometer uses infrared rays and measures the heat generated by
the surface of the skin over the temporal artery in the forehead
and its surrounding tissue. The thermometer then converts ter-
mal data into a temperature reading displayed on the screen.
• Non-contact measuring method automatically reduces the
chances of infection and transferable diseases.
• Memory function allows you to store 6 most recent body
temperature results.
• Easy to read LCD with backlight to use in a dark environment.
• Protective probe cap to keep the device clean.
• Can be used for monitoring the temperature of both bodies
and objects.
• A one-touch button for easy operation.
A control measurement using a conventional thermometer is rec-
ommended in the following cases:
1. If the reading is surprisingly low.
2. For new-born infants up to 100 days old.
3. For children under three years of age who have a weakened
immune system or who react unusually in the presence or
absence of fever.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Cautions and Warnings
1. Do not place this device near strong electric power sources to
avoid electric shock.
NOTE:
Please be advised that the accuracy cannot be ensured
when the thermometer is not clean. Check that the detect-
ing sensor is clean before taking a measurement

2. Do not expose this device to the direct sunlight and do not
place it next to a stove, cooker, and other sources of heat.
3. Do not submerge the device in water or other liquids.
4. Do not violently strike the device. If it is damaged stop using it.
5. The optimal range of ambient temperature of this device is
between 5°C and 40°C, the operating temperature is 25 °C.
6. Do not use this device in the environment with relative humid-
ity exceeding 85%.
7. Please contact the manufacturer or service centre if the device
doesn’t work properly.
8. Keep measuring distance < 2.5cm to get the best measure-
ment result.
9. To ensure the best measurement result, the thermometer
should be placed in the measuring environment for 30 minutes
before being used. Drastic changes of the measurement envi-
ronment (such as from outdoor high-temperature environment
to indoor low-temperature environment or vice versa) will lead to
the measuring error.
10. To ensure the best measurement result, the test object needs
to be kept in the measuring environment for 15 minutes before
measuring.
11. Since many factors may aect the measurement accuracy,
this device cannot replace the doctor’s diagnosis. If there is any
abnormality, timely consult a doctor.
12. Store the thermometer in a sun-free and dust-free dry area.
