1. Unpacking
You will nd the following items in the package:

2. Turning On/O the Speaker
Slightly push the speaker down from the top
to reveal the control panel of the speaker. The
speaker is then automatically turned on with the
blue LED indicator activated.
To turn o the speaker – push the speaker
down from the top to hide the control panel.

4. Charging
Plug the small end of the USB cable into the mini
USB port of the speaker and the wide end into a
USB port of your computer or an AC adapter (not
provided) to start charging.

Charging indicator
During charging, the red charging indicator
stays lit. The charging is complete when the
red charging indicator turns blue. It takes
approximately 2-3 hours for full charging.

Low Battery
You hear beeping sounds during music playback
and the red LED indicator blink when the battery
is low. When there is no Bluetooth connection,
the red and blue indicators blink alternately.
5. Bluetooth Pairing
5.1 Standard Bluetooth Pairing
1. Slightly push the speaker down from the
top to reveal the control panel and turn on
the speaker.
• TheblueLEDindicatorofthespeakerblinks
quickly. The speaker is ready for pairing.
2. Turn on the Bluetooth feature of the device
you want to connect with the speaker.
• Select“FranklinTyphoon”onyourdevicefor
pairing.
• Nopasscodeisrequired.
• Whenpairingissuccessful,youhearabeep
sound and the blue LED indicator stays lit.
• Youcanalsopairwithacomputerforinternet
calls (e.g. Skype).
5.2 NFC Fast Pairing
IfyourphoneisequippedwithNFC(NearField
Communication), you can pair with the speaker
in a quick manner.
1. Slightly push the speaker down from the
top to reveal the control panel and turn on
the speaker.

quickly. The speaker is ready for pairing.
2. Locate the NFC antenna and turn on the
NFC feature of your phone.
3. Place the phone on top of the speaker.
Align the NFC antennas as close as
possible. You hear a “cling” sound when
they match.
•Note: Foreasypairing,pleasecheckthe
exactNFCmoduleinstallationpositionin
your phone and place the module exactly
abovethecenter(NFClogo)ofthespeaker.
Otherwise, move your phone around to
locatetheNFCmodule.
• ThiswillactivatetheBluetoothfeatureofyour
phone and start pairing. You may have to
conrm Bluetooth pairing on your phone to
complete pairing.
• Whenpairingissuccessful,youhearabeep
sound and the blue LED indicator stays lit.
5.3 Disconnecting Bluetooth Connection
1. Turn o the Bluetooth feature on your
phone.
• TheblueLEDindicatorofthespeakerstarts
blinking slowly.
2. Turn o the speaker by pushing slightly
from the top of the speaker to hide the

control panel.
• Thepairingmemorywithyourphoneiskept.
Next time when you turn on the speaker, it
will automatically connect to your phone
(with the Bluetooth feature turned on) again.
5.4 Pairing a New Device
1. Turn o the Bluetooth feature on your
phone.
2. Turn on the Bluetooth feature on your new
device to be paired.
3. Turn o and then on the speaker to restart
Bluetooth pairing.
• Youmayalsopressandhold to restart
Bluetooth pairing.

6. Listening to Music
Start music playback after the speaker is
connected with your device.
• Press once to start or pause playback.
• Press or once to skip to the previous or
next track.
• Pressandhold or to fast rewind or
forward within a track.
• Press or to decrease or increase the
volume.
• Note: Your phone must support AVRCP
(Audio Video Remote Control Prole) for
remote playback controls.
7. Answering Calls
1. When there is an incoming call, press
once to answer it.

2. Speak to the microphone during a call.
3. Press or to decrease or increase the
volume.
4. Press and hold to switch the call back
to the phone. Press to resume call from
the speaker.
5. Press once to end the call.
8. External Audio Input
1. Plug the two ends of the audio cable into
the AUX jack (3.5 mm) of the speaker and
the earphones jack of an external audio
device.
• Theprovidedaudiocableis3.5mmatboth
ends.
2. Start playback on the external audio
device.
• Note: The Bluetooth feature is disabled when
an audio cable is connected with the speaker.

11. Troubleshooting Tips
1. I cannot connect the speaker with my
device via Bluetooth connection.
• MakesureyouhaveturnedontheBluetooth
feature on your device.
• Makesurethebatterylevelofthespeakeris
not too low.
• Makesurethespeakerisnotconnectedwith
an audio cable.
• Pressandhold to restart Bluetooth pairing.
2. There is no sound or distorted sound when
using the Bluetooth connection.
• Makesurethatthespeakerisnottoofar
(within 33 feet or 10 meters) visible from your
paired device, or the speaker is not having
interference from wireless LAN, other 2.4 GHz
wireless device, or microwave oven.
