M3X ASSEMBLY
ASSEMBLING MAIN FRAME TO BASE FRAME
Step 1: Carefully lower the main frame onto the base frame over the base screws, with the front
of the bike facing the transport wheels on the base frame. (Fig. 1)
Step 2: Insert one washer on each of the four base frame studs. (Fig. 1)
Step 3: Install the acorn nuts on the studs and hand tighten. Torque the acorn nuts with a 16mm
or 5/8” crowfoot and torque wrench to 47 Nm (35 ft-lbs) using a 16mm, or 5/8 inch open-end
wrench to hold in position. (Fig. 2)
ASSEMBLING FLYWHEEL, HUB, AND HUB CAP
Step 1: Before starting the assembly of the flywheel, hub, and hub cap, make sure that the shifter
lever is in the downward position. (Fig. 3)
NOTE: Not following this step may scratch the flywheel.
Step 2: Remove the plastic wrapping from around the axle, hub, and hub cap. Remove the hub
cap. Obtain the 5 socket head cap screws (M6x1 X 20 SS) and 5mm Allen wrench. (Fig. 4)
Remove the flywheel from its foam envelope.

NOTE: Use the foam envelope to handle the flywheel during assembly.
Step 3: Carefully slide the flywheel between the two magnets (Fig 4. & Fig. 5) and onto the hub
at the same time. Make sure that the flywheel is flush against the hub and align the screw holes.
Step 4: Holding the flywheel in position with one hand, install the hubcap and align the screw
holes. Install the socket head cap screws (M6x1 X 20 SS). Using the 5mm Allen wrench, tighten
the screws in a star pattern until snug (as shown in Fig. 6).
ASSEMBLING PEDAL TO CRANK ARM
Step 1: Unwrap the pedal set and Loctite 242, obtain the Torque wrench, 15mm crowfoot, 4”
extension, and 15mm open-end wrench.
Step 2: With a clean cloth, wipe the threaded area of the pedals. Apply Loctite 242 to the pedal
threads. Install the pedals into the crank arms, use the 15mm open-end wrench to tighten. Finish
with the torque wrench, 15mm crowfoot, and 4” extension. Torque pedals to 45 Nm (35 ft-lbs) (Fig. 7).
NOTE: Left pedal is LH threads and right pedal is RH threads.
!
!
WARNING: Failing to install the pedals with Loctite 242, or crossing the threads will damage
them, and could result in serious injury to the user.

MOUNTING X-BAR
Step 1: Unpack the X-Bar from the cardboard box and carefully lay it out on a clean soft surface.
Step 2: Loose front cover screws with a 4mm Allen wrench and remove front cover carefully (Fig.
8). Keep the cover and screws aside for reassembling.
Step 3: Loose lower cover screws with a 2.5mm or 4mm Allen wrench and remove lower cover
carefully (Fig. 9). Keep the cover and screws aside for reassembling.
Step 4: Obtain the 4 socket head cap screws M8x1.25 X 20 SS, 4 aircraft washers 5/16, and 4
hex elastic lock nuts M8x1.25 SS.
Step
5: Unplug the modular connector coupler from the computer wire. Pull out the modular
connector from the mounting bracket and plug it into the coupler (Fig. 10). Hold the X-Bar close to
the mounting bracket and feed the coupler through the round hole on the X-Bar casting (Fig. 11).
Step 6: Hold the X-Bar and align the mounting holes of the X-Bar to the holes of the mounting
bracket. Set in the screws, washers and nuts and hand tighten as shown (Fig. 12).
Step 7: Tighten all four nuts with the 13mm combination wrench while holding the screws with
the 6mm Allen wrench (Fig. 13).
Step 8:
Set the coupler back in the hole as shown (Fig. 14). Do not push it deep into the mounting hole.

FEEDING THE COMPUTER ASSEMBLY WIRE
Step 1: Obtain the computer assembly. Locate the X-Bar sweat seal (Fig. 15).
Step 2: Feed the modular connector through the sweat seal while pulling the sweat seal away
from the aluminum casting (Fig. 16).
Step 3: Let the computer hang on the X-Bar by the sweat seal (Fig. 17). Be careful not to scratch
the computer.
MOUNTING M3X HANDLEBAR ASSEMBLY
Step 1: Obtain the handlebar assembly, 10mm Socket, Ratchet, and the 4 dome hex head
screws. Place the handlebar assembly on the X-Bar and align the holes (Fig. 18).
Step 2:
Tighten all 4 screws while making sure the handlebar assembly is sitting firmly on the X-Bar
(Fig. 19).

MOUNTING COMPUTER
Step 1: Obtain the 3mm Allen wrench and remove the computer mounting screw from the
handlebar casting (Fig. 20). Keep the mounting screw.
Step 2: Slide the computer up into the two locking ears. Fit the computer wire into the slot on the
handlebar casting (Fig. 21). Insert and tighten the screw removed in Step 1 using the 3mm Allen
wrench (Fig. 22).
ROUTING THE COMPUTER ASSEMBLY WIRE
Step 1: Ensure the computer assembly wire is fed through the slot of the sweat seal (Fig. 23).
Step 2: Plug in the modular connector to the coupler sitting on the X-Bar hole (Fig. 24)
Step 3: Turn the X-Bar resistance to the lowest level by turning the knob to the minus side until
stop (Fig. 25).
Step 4: Shift the X-Bar to the right most position facing the X-Bar by pulling the handlebar as
shown (Fig. 26).
Step 5: Fit the computer wire into the wire clip while ensuring the computer wire is about 3/4” or
19mm away from the X-Bar center linkage (Fig. 27 & 28).
Step 6: Shift the X-Bar to both side multiple times to ensure the computer wire is not hitting sharp
corners or being stretched too tight.
