Shooting with Easy Panorama

• When the camera is readied in the horizontal position, the I I

image size (width × height) is as follows,

Normal (180°): 4800 x 920 when moved horizontally, I I

1536 X 4800 when moved vertically I I

Wide (360°): 9600 x 920 when moved horizontally, 1536 x [ J

9600 when moved vertically

When the camera is readied in the vertical position, the direction and the width and height

are switched.

2 Frame the first edge of the panorama scene,

and then press the shutter-release button

halfway to focus.

• The zoom position is fixed at the maximum wide angle

position.

• A grid is displayed in the monitor,

• The camera focuses on the area in the center of the frame.

• Exposure compensation (_64) can be set.

Example of camera movement

•The operator, without shifting position, moves the camera horizontally or vertically in an

arc so that the guide travels from one edge to the other.

• Shooting stops ifthe guide does not reach the edge within about 1Sseconds (when

Normal (180 °) is selected) or within about 30 seconds (when Wide (360 °) is selected)

after shooting starts. _-B3

_1_ Notes About Easy Panorama Shooting

•The range of the image seen in the saved image will be narrower than that seen in the monitor at

the time of shooting,

• If the camera is moved too quickly or shaken too much, or if the subject is too uniform (e,g. walls or

darkness), an error may occur.

• if shooting is stopped before the camera reaches the halfway point in the panorama range, a

panorama image is not saved,

• if more than half of the panorama range is captured but shooting ends before reaching the edge

of the range, the range not captured is recorded and displayed in gray.

Viewing Images Captured with Easy Panorama

Switch to playback mode ([_]]32), display an image captured

using easy panorama in full-frame playback mode, and then

press the _) button to display the short edge of the image

using the entire monitor and automatically move (scroll) the

displayed area.

• The image scrolls in the direction that was used when

shooting.

Playback controls are displayed at the top of the monitor

during playback. Press the multi selector _ or _ to choose a

control, and then press the _) button to perform the following

operations.

paused using the controls displayed at the top in the monitor.

_1_ Notes About Easy Panorama Scroll Playback

The COOLPIX$6500 may not be able to scroll the playback of, or zoom in on, easy panorama images

captured with another make or model of digital camera.

Youcansortyourimages(exceptmovies)intoninealbumsandaddthemasfavoritepictures

(addedimagesarenotcopiedormoved).Afteryouaddimagestoalbums,youcanchooseto

playbackonlytheaddedimagesbyusingfavoritepicturesmode.

• Bycreatingalbumsforcertainsubjectsorevents,youcanfindyourfavoriteimageseasily.

• Thesameimagecanbeaddedtomultiplealbums.

• Upto200imagescanbeaddedtoeachalbum.

Adding Images to Albums

Press the ]-_'1button (playback nqode) _ MEN[Jbutton -_ Favorite pictures -_ _) button

• Images cannot be added to albums in favorite pictures playback mode.

1Press the multi selector _ or i_ to choose an

image and press • to display t_11,

• You can add D to multiple images.To remove 1_1,press

• Rotate the zoom control (_3) to 1" (C{)to switch back to

full frame playback or W (_;;_ to six image thumbnail

display,

• Pressthe _) button to display the album selection screen,

_I Use the multi selector to select the desired

album and press the _ button.

• The selected images ate added and the camera switches to

the playback menu,

• To add the same image to multiple albums, repeat from

step l,

Playing Back Images in Albums

Press the I_] button mode) --_ [] button -_ _ Favorite

(playback

Use the multi selector to select an album and then press the

_) button to play back the images that have been added to

tile selected album.

• Tile following operations are available from tile album

selection screen.

MENU button: Changes tile album icon (_g).

"_ button: Deletes all images in tile selected album.

• When viewing images in fu]Pframe playback mode or

thumbnail playback mode, press tile MENUbutton to select a

feature from tile favorite pictures menu (_84).

_1_ NotesAbout Deletion

If an image is deleted while using favorite pictures mode, the image will not only be removed from

the album, but the corresponding image file will also be permanently deleted from the internal

memory or the memory card.

Removing Images from Albums

Enter _ Favorite pictures mode -) select tile album containing the image you want to

remove -_ _) button -_ MENU button -) Remove from favorites -) _) button

1Press the multi selector _ or i_ to choose an

image and press • to hide t_11.

• You can hide the D icons for multiple images. To display

the icons again, press V.

• Rotate the zoom control (_3) to T (% to switch back to

full frame playback or W(_;i_ to six image thumbnail

display,

• Press the _) button to display a removal confirmation

screen.

2Select Yes and press the _ button.

• To cancel removal, select No.

Changing the Favorites Album Icon

Press the I%'1 button (playback nqode) -_ F_l button -_ L_II Favorite pictures -_ _ button 1

1 Usethe multi selector to select an album and pressthe MENUbutton.

2Press _ or _ to select an icon color and press

the _) button.

3Press A, V, 4, or i_ to select an icon and

press the I_) button.

• The icon changes and the monitor display returns to the

list of albums screen,

• Set the album icons separately for the internal memory and for the memory card,

• To change the album icons for the internal memory, first remove the memory card from the

camera,

• The default setting for the icon is the number icon (black),
