RemovetheMotherboardfromitsanti-staticpackaging.Holdthemotherboardbythe

edgesandavoidtouchingitscomponents.

ChecktheMotherboardfordamage.Ifanychipappearstobeloosened,press

carefullytoseatitfirmlyinitssocket.

Step 1. CPU Installation

Mark your CPU Frequency:

RecordtheworkingfrequencyofyourCPU

thatshouldbeclearlymarkedontheCPUcover.

300MHz(66x4.5) 333MHz(66x5.0) 366MHz(66x5.5) 400MHz(66x6.0)

433MHz(66x6.5) 466MHz(66x7..0) 500MHz(66x7.5)

ThisMotherboardisdesignedtosupportprocessorswith100MHzFSB.However,Socket

370processorswith100MHzFSBarenotavailableatpresent.

CPU Mount Procedure:

TomounttheCeleron

processorthatyouhave

purchasedseparately,followtheseinstructions.

Liftthesockethandleuptoaverticalposition.

AlignthebluntedgeoftheCPUwiththematchingpinholedistinctiveedgeonthe

socket.

Seattheprocessorinthesocketcompletelyandwithoutforcing.

ThenclosethesockethandletosecuretheCPUinplace.

RemembertoconnecttheCPUCoolingFantotheappropriatepower

connectorontheMotherboard. Thefanis akeycomponentthatstabilizethe

system.Itpreventstheequipmentfromoverheatingandprolongsthelifeof

yourCPU.

Step 3. Configure Memory

YourboardcomeswiththreeDIMMsockets,andprovidessupportupto512MBmain

memoryusingPC100DIMMmodulesfrom8MBto256MB.

Note: 1. PC100 Compliant DIMM module is required regardless of 66 or 100

MHz FSB speed.

2. If you want to use DIMM3, DIMM2 must be used as well to let the

system work properly. Just plugging a memory module into DIMM3

with DIMM2 left empty, will make the system not working.

Step 4. Set J6 &JP2 to configure CPU FSB Frequency

IftheuserwantstousetheCPUatitsstandardFSB(FrontSideBus)Frequency,J6hasto

beclosed.ThiswillmakesurethesystemwillprovidetheCPUwiththeFSBFrequencyit

wasspecifiedtorunat.MakesurethatJP2isopenwhenusingthissetting.

IftheuserwantstoruntheCPUatanother(higher)FSBfrequencyhowever,J6hastobe

open.InthiscaseuseJP2tosettheFSBfrequency.

Step 5. Set the CPU Frequency

ThisMotherboarddoesnotuseanyjumperstosettheCPUoperatingfrequency; theCPU

settingscanbechangedthroughtheBIOS[SOYOCOMBOSETUP].Pleasereferto

Chapter3“QuickBIOSSetup”fordetailsonsettingthe

Celeron

processorfrequency.

Step 6. Set for JP9 FWH Boot Block Write-Protect

SettingthisjumpertoopenwillpreventthebootblockareaoftheFWH(FirmWareHub)chip

frombeingwrittendataintosuchthatitiswrite-protectedfromunwantedorabnormalwrite

activity.

Note

:Insomerarecases,thebootblockareawillneedto beflashedtocompletetheBIOS

upgradeprocedure.SettingJP9toopenwillcauseincompleteBIOSupdateinthatcase.
