Overview and Operations
Thank you for purchasing the Tamas Zone Block Module. The
Z-Block is designed for multiple applications:
1) Zoning in a hydronic system for individual or multiple zones. The
maximum amount of connected Z-block modules is 10 in a single
supply to the manifolds.
2) As an injection pump in a Tamas multiple zone application, to
temper the water temperature. You must use optional part #025-
0005 180° End Connection for creating primary/secondary piping
arrangement. Injection pump controller not supplied.
3) As a boiler pump in a Tamas multiple zone application. You must
use optional part #025-0005 180° End Connection for creating
primary/secondary piping arrangement.

Assembly
The Tamas Z-Block is designed to be assembled and installed in
multiple configurations and orientations. This will serve as a guide
for the assembly of the components, but does not cover all of the
applications this unit can be used in.
1) O-Ring Installation
2) Air Vent Installation
Add Silicon Grease
to the O-ring.
Slide O-ring onto
Attachment.
Insert Attachment
into the Z-Block.
Twist to lock.

3) Purge/Drain Valve Installation
3) Install Connection Fittings
Insert Purge Valve
into Z-Block.
(part #025-0014)
1
Push Valve Clip
into
Z-Block to secure
the Valve.
(part #025-0015)
2
Note: Depending on orientation, the Purge Valve can be installed
in one of the End Caps. To do this, drill a 5mm (0.2”) hole through
the center opening on the end cap, and insert Purge valve. Lock with
Valve Clip.
End cap can
also house
sensor fitting.
Line up Z-Blocks and install
both Connection Fittings.

Application Examples
1) Vertical Multi-Zone Installation
The Tamas Z-Block can be installed in a vertical
Configuration. When installing multiple
Z-Block modules vertically, the optional Vent
Fitting (part # 025-0021) must be used for the
air vent or thermistor sensor. This fitting is a
1/8” MPT thread which can house any
manufacturers automatic or manual Air Vent.
When used for venting purposes, it is
required that the user drill a 5mm (0.2”)
hole in the bottom of the fitting. The user
must also drill a 5mm (0.2”) hole in the
bottom of the end cap that the fitting will
be installed in. (Refer to FIG 4. on page 5)
e.g. Vertical Installation with 180° End Connection (#025-0005), and
End Cap Vent Fitting.
180° End Connector
This component can be fitted
with a multitude of optional
accessories, such as Air Vents,
Thermistors and Purge Valves.
Drill 5mm (0.2”) hole
in bottom of fitting.

2) Injection Pump Installation
e.g. Horizontal Installation with Injection Pump and 180° End Connection
(#025-0005).
When using the Z-Block as an Injection Pump, connect the Z-Block
to the manifold in an inverted position. In this position, the Pump
Head (part #025-0010) will need to be inverted 180° as well. To
do this, remove the 4 pump bolts and turn the pump head to the
desired location. Replace the screws when finished. Do not spin
the pump base.
WARNING: Remove Sweat connections from Z-Block BEFORE
attempting to solder to them.
FIG 9.
Remove all 4 Pump
Bolts
1
Flip the Pump Head 180°, so that
the top faces away from the Au-
tovent. Bolt the Pump Head back
into place.
