1. Refertothevehicle’sservicemanualforanyspecificradiatorpressuretestinginstructions.
2. Loosenthevehicle’sradiatorcapslowlytorelieveanyexcesspressurebeforeremovingthecapcompletely.NEVEROPEN
THESYSTEMWHILEHOT,asthismaycausepersonalinjury.
3. Selecttheproperadapterandconfigurationofthestationaryseataccessories.Securelyattachtheadaptertothefiller
neckoftheradiatororexpansiontank.
4. Attachthequickconnectorofthehandpumpontotheadapter.
5. Rapidlypumpthehandpumphandleusingstraightforceasshowninfigure1whilewatchingthepressuregauge.
Pressurizetheradiatoruptotheoptimalpressureonly‐DONOTOVERPRESSURIZETHERADIATOR.Idealreadings
shouldrangebetween15‐20PSI(1.03‐1.37BAR).
•Needleholdssteady–Ifgaugehandholdsatthesamepressurenumberfor2minutes,therearenoseriousleaksin
thesystem.
•Needledropsslowly–Indicatesthepresenceofthesmallleaksorseepage.
•Needledropsquickly–Indicatesseriousleakageispresent.
6. Oncethetestiscomplete,releasetheairpressurebydepressingthepressurereleasevalveonthehandpump.Then
disconnectthequickcouplerandadapterassembly.
7. Maintenances–AftertestingprocessinRadiatorTest:
•Keeptheadaptorconnectedtothepumpasyouhadsetupwhileperformingtheactualtest.Operatethepump
severaltimestodissipatemoistureand/orcoolantthatmayhaveremainedintheadaptorandpump.
•Oilthehandpumpinordertolubricatethepistonandpreventcorrosionandinternaldamage.
8. Storetheradiatorpressuretesterkitinitscarryingcaseandkeepthekitinaclean,dry,safelocationoutofreachof
childrenandotherunauthorizedpersons.
TOTESTFORLEAKSINORIGINALRADIATORCAP:
1. Choosethecorrectradiatorcapconnector(5Aor5B)andcorrectsteelradiatorcap(#02,#03,or#04)forthecorrect
vehiclebeingtestedfromthetestkit.Fastentheoriginalradiatorcaptotheradiatorcapconnector(5Aor5B)andthen
fastenthesteelradiatorcap(#02,#03,or#04)fromthetestkittotheotherendoftheradiatorcapconnector(5Aor5B).
2. Removethehandpumpassembly(#1)fromthetestkitandfastenthequickcouplerattheendofthehosetotheradiator
cap(#02,#03,or#04)securely.Operatethehandpumpuntilreachingthepressurerecommendedbythevehicle
manufacturer.‐DONOTOVERPRESSURIZE.Idealreadingsshouldrangebetween15‐20PSI(1.03‐1.37BAR).
3. Checkthepressurereadingonthegaugeimmediatelyafterreachingthevehiclemanufacturer’srecommendedpressure.
Ifthepressuredrops,thereisaleakintheradiatorcap.Afterpressuretestingiscompleted,pressthereleasebuttonon
thequickcoupleruntilthereadingonthegaugereads0.Removequickcouplerfromradiatorcapandthenremovethe
originalradiatorcapfromtheoriginalradiatorcapconnector.Discardoriginalradiatorcapandreplacewithnewcapif
leakingorifitdoesnotmeetvehiclemanufacturer’srecommendations.
