Congratulations and thank you for purchasing the FireWire
800 ExpressCard (the ExpressCard) from Belkin. This
ExpressCard offers notebook users a fast and convenient
way to add a FireWire
®
port that can take advantage of the
increased bandwidth and features the new ExpressCard I/O
interconnection standard delivers.
Why ExpressCard?
ExpressCard, the standard destined to replace CardBus,
quadruples your computing bandwidth. This results in faster
music downloads, smoother streaming video, and
lightning-fast access to mass-storage devices.
The ExpressCard provides the perfect solution for
simultaneously streaming movies and downloading video
from your camcorder to your hard drive—without risking
that your computer will freeze, crash, or slow to a trickle.
ExpressCard future-proofs your computer with technology
so advanced that it exceeds the processing speed of many
devices currently on the market. This means that installing
the ExpressCard now assures you of device-upgrade
expansion room for many years to come.
Please carefully review this User Manual so that you can
take full advantage of all the capabilities the Belkin FireWire
800 ExpressCard offers.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must install the FireWire 800
ExpressCard drivers prior to installing the hardware to
your computer.
1.
Insert the FireWire 800 ExpressCard installation CD into
your CD-ROM drive. After a few moments, the main menu
automatically starts.
Note:
If the main CD does not auto-start, click the “Start”
button and select “Run”. From the “Run” dialog box,
enter “<driver>:\setup_xp2.exe” and click “OK” (where
“<driver>” represents the letter driver that identifies your
CD-ROM drive under “My Computer”—e.g., if the CD is in
drive D, enter “D:\setup_xp2.exe”).
2.
Select “FireWire 800 Driver”. The Software Installation
Wizard appears and begins to download the drivers.
3.
If you receive the following “Software Installation”
notice, click on “Continue Anyway” to continue with the
installation process.
4.
After the files successfully copy over, you are ready to
