TheLBC-HBT-Tx/Rxwith HDMIvideo andRS-232over SingleCAT5e/6
transmitterand receiver set can send uncompressed audio/video over
asinglerun of CAT5e/6 cable up to 100mwithPoC (Power over cable)
featureand the added benefitofcontrol through the built-inRS-232and
IR ports and a bi-directional LAN connection.

2.0 OPERATION CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS
2.1 Transmitter Front and Rear Panels
1. HDMI In: ConnecttoHDMI sourceequipmentsuchasa DVDor
Blu-rayplayer.
2. LAN: Connectto an internetornetworkconnection.
3. RS-232 In: Connect to a PC or laptop with D-Sub 9 pin male
cableforthe transmission of RS-232 commands.
4. Power LED: This blue LED will illuminate when the device is
connected to a power supply.
5. DC 24V:Plugthe24VDCpower supplyintotheunitandconnect
theadaptor to anAC outlet.Onlyone side ofpowerneeds to be
connectedto activate both transmitterandreceiver.
6. IR 1 Blaster: Connect to the supplied IR blaster cable for IR
signaltransmission. PlacetheIR blaster indirect line-of-sight of
theequipmentto be controlled.
7. IR 2 Extender: Connect tothe suppliedIRreceivercablesforIR
signal reception. Ensure that remote being used is within the
directline-of-sight of the IRextender.

8. Link LED: The yellow LED will illuminate when both the input
andoutputsignals are connected.
9. CAT5e/6Out:Connectto therecieverunitwithaSingle CAT5e/6
cable for tranmission of all data signals.
2.2 Receiver Front and Rear Panels
1. HDMI Out: Connecttoa HDMI equippedTV/monitor for display
of the HDMI input source signal.
2. LAN: Connect to a PC or Laptop to the Internet or network
connection.
3. RS-232 Out: Connect to the device that is to be controlled (via
D-Sub9 pin female cable) by RS-232 commands.
4. Power LED: This blue LED will illuminate when the device is
connected to a power supply.
5. DC 24V:Plugthe24VDCpower supplyintotheunitandconnect
theadaptor to anAC outlet.Onlyone side ofpowerneeds to be
connectedtoactivate both transmitter and receiver.
6. IR 2 Blaster: Connect to the supplied IR blaster cable for IR
signal transmission. Place the IR blaster in direct line of sight
of the equipment to be controlled.

7. IR 1 Extender: Connect to the supplied IR receiver cables for
IRsignal reception. Ensurethatremote being used iswithin the
directline-of-sightoftheIRextender.

9. CAT5e/6 In: Connect to the transmitter unit with a Single
CAT5e/6 cable for tranmission of all data signals.

4.0 MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING
4.1 Maintenance
Thereisno operator maintenance other then keeping theunits
clean. However, observe the following light indicators tomake
sure that the unit is working properly:
4.2 Troubleshooting
Ifthe LBC-HDBTunitsdo notoperateproperly afterinstallation,
check for possible cable breaks, loose connections, and
incorrect cable connections. If problems persist that may be
fiber related, contact BCI at 1-800-214-0222 for further
assistance.
For electrical problems, perform the following troubleshooting
procedures:
1. If the POWER indicator is OFF, check for the following:
a. The line cord is plugged into the unit and your outlet
haspower.
2. If the POWER indicator is ON, but the Link indicator is
OFF, check for the following:
a. Makesure the appropriate cables are beingused.
b. Cableand cable connectors are notbroken.
c. For each unit, the transmit (TX) cable is connected to
theother unit’s receiver (RX).

3. If the POWER indicator and Link indicator are ON, but
the channels are not operating, then:
a. Checkto seethatthe attacheduserequipmentisturned
on.
b. Both ends of the link are connected to the
corresponding equipment and to the same
correspondingchannel port.
c. Cable connections at both channels are securely
fastened to each connector. Turn the power off, then
back on to reset the link.
