WARNING
Thisproduct is aCLASSI LASER PRODUCT onlywhen theunitsare connected
with a fiber optical cable. Do not disconnect the fiber optic connector while
the unit is powered up. Exposure to laser radiation is possible when the
laser fiber optic connector is disconnected while the unit is powered up. It
should be noted that when the fiber is disconnected, the product will have
CLASSIM INVISIBLELASER RADIATION.
Although the fiber optic connectors in this product emit only Class 1 energy
that is below the levels considered to be hazardous, one should never stare
directly into a fiber optic connector or an unconnected fiber end unless one
can be certain that no exposure to laser energy could occur.
CAUTION
Only service personnel are intended to access the interior of the units. It
should be cautioned that CLASS 3 INVISIBLE LASER RADIATION WHEN
OPEN, AVOID EXPOSURE TO THE BEAM. The use of controls, making
adjustments, or performing operations other than those specified may result
in hazardous radiation exposure. This product has operating wavelengths
at 778nm, 800nm with average -0.5dB to 0dBm optical power per wavelength,
825nm, 911nm, and 980nm. The laser is operated in pulse mode within 1
KHz frequency and ¼ duty cycle.
The following label or equivalent is located on the surface of laser products.
This label indicates that the product is classified as a CLASS 1 LASER
PRODUCT.

This product contains sensitive electrical components that may be damaged
by electrical spikes, surges, electric shock, lightning strikes, etc. Use of
surge protection systems is highly recommended in order to protect and
extend the life of your equipment.

1.0 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The LBO-DVI-EAD Series is a high performance, low cost, miniature,
LinkBridgeTM Fiber Optic DVI TransmissionSystem. It carries one(1)
unidirectional DVI video, one (1) uni-directional stereo audio & digital
audio, and two (2) RS-232 through one multimode fiber. This unique
fiberoptic transmissionsystemlets yourdigital flat paneldisplay extend
upto400matWUXGA (1920x1200@60Hz)or720p/1080i/1080pHDTV
video resolution. No user adjustment is required for the LBO-DVI-EAD
systemdueto theuseof advanceddigitalfiber optictransmissionsystem
technology with zero compression and zero bit reduction. This allows
foraquick andeasysetup, offeringtrouble-freeoperation formanyyears
to come. In addition, the LBO-DVI-EAD transmitter (or receiver) is
compatible with our LBO Series receiver (or transmitter). This makes
both fiber transmission and HDMI/DVI/VGA/YPbPr/SV/CV/SDI
conversionin one single system setup.The LBO-DVI-EAD comes with
eitherastandaloneminiatureenclosureoraDecorawall-platepackaging.
The units are easily monitored by power and link LED indicators.

LBO-DVI-EAD-TStand-alone and Wall Plateunits.

2.0 SETUP
LBO-DVI-EAD-Tis a transmitter that canbepaired with any DVI/HDMI
centric LBO receiver (such as LBO-DVI-R). One LBO-DVI-EAD-T
transmitter unit is located at the near-end and connected through one
optical fiber, to the LBO-DVI-EAD-R receiver located at the far-end of
thelink. Figure 2-1 depictsatypical installationforthe LBO-DVI-EAD-T.

2.1 Mounting
Beforeinstalling the units into yourhousing, make sure there is
enoughspace topulland connectboth the electricaland optical
cables without stressing them beyond the manufacturer’s
limitations (also known as the minimum bend radius).
2.2 Cabling and Connectors
In order to setup the LBO-DVI-EAD-T properly, make sure to
observe the following instructions when installing the proper
cables. TheLBO-DVI-EAD-T requires two parts to thecabling
setup, the electrical and the optical.

2.2.1 Electrical Cable Connection
Thethree availablecable connections onthe electricalside are
forDVIvideo,audioanddataconnections. Followtheproceeding
instructions in order to properly install your electrical
connections.
2.2.1.1 DVI Video Interface
The DVI video connection is the DVI plug connectors for
videoinput andoutput ports. Use thefollowing instructions
to properly connect your component video as illustrated in
Figure2-2.
1. Connect the LBO-DVI-EAD-T (Transmitter) unit’s DVI
videoinput port tothe user’s DVI videosource with the
appropriateDVI cables.
2. For the receive unit, connect the LBO-DVI-EAD-R
(Receiver)DVIvideooutputportstothe user’sDVIvideo
receiverswith the appropriateDVI cables respectively,
as illustrated in Step 1.

2.2.1.2 Audio Interface
The audio interface supports two channel high fidelity
transmissions. Two separateanalog stereoor onedigital audio
channel (SPDIF) is transmitted and embedded into the video
signal. Line-level audio signals are connected to the
LBO-DVI-EADunit. Thefollowingstep illustratestheinstallation
procedures for audio devices. To send audio signals, on the
LBO-DVI-EADunit, connect the cabletothe front panel stereo
jackconnector labeled “AUDIO IN”(see Figure 2-3).

2.2.1.3 Serial Data Interface
EachLBO-DVI-EAD unit can be used forRS-232 interface.
RS-232 data
The LBO-DVI-EAD transmits two channels of data signals.
Followthe procedures for installing dataterminal devices.
1. Label and connect one serial computer data cable to the
user’sRS-232 device.
2. Connect the other end of this cable to the front panel data
terminal block connector on the LBO-DVI-EAD (see
Figure2-4).
