satlook Lite - DESCRIPTION
Emitor´s satlook Lite is develo ed in Sweden for exact alignment and adjustment of
satellite dishes.
It´s designed to be extremely easy to use, sim ly select the satellite You want to
find/install and the meter will try to identify that one only.
When finding the satellite the meter will show exact digital readouts (BER, MER and
SNR) in order to get a erfect result of the installtion.
satlook Lite is micro rocessor controlled, making it very reliable and accurate.
Signalstrength is resented on the LCD-dis lay.
The meter is searching for one satellite at the time (“EasyFind”-mode).
You can also choose to view the signal in s ectrum mode.
satlook Lite is very sensitive and can detect even the weakest signals.
satlook Lite can feed Voltage (13/18 Volt), 22 kHz and DiSEqC to LNB´s
The meter is short-circuit rotected by an automatic fuse.
satlook Lite is charged via an external DC ower-source of 12 volt, 1,2 am .
satlook Lite o erates with 8xAA rechargeable batteries. The unit will works for about
one hour with fully charged batteries.

1 Gettin Started
1.1 Power ON/OFF
To turn the unit ON, sim ly ush and ress down the OK –button for a cou le of
seconds.
NOTICE, The unit will start booting u (which takes about 10-15 seconds) The unit
will “bee ” in a steady ace and the LCD back-light will lit during start-u .
The unit starts in Easy Find mode on the last selected satellite osition.
To turn the unit OFF, ush and hold down the Ok –button for a cou le of seconds.
1.2 Power supply and battery
satlook Lite can be fed by an external ower-su ly through the VDC ort, by an
external ower-source (12v dc, max 1.2A). This is useful in case that the battery goes
em ty during an installation. Connect the ower-source and hold down the ON
button for a cou le of seconds (until the unit turns On).
To turn the unit OFF when the unit is fed by an external ower-su ly, sim ly
disconnect the ower-source.
A discharged battery takes about 14 hours to recharge. The recharging is controlled
by the units micro rocessor and is indicated on the dis lay. Please notice that to
obtain full ca acity of new batteries it is necessary to recharge and run down the
battery- ack a cou le of times.
The meter has 8 x AA rechargeable NiMe batteries in the battery-com artment. A art
from recharging the battery the unit does not need any articular maintenance. The
unit should be recharged when the battery is em ty (indicated with a battery-indicator
symbol on the dis lay. A fully charged battery is o erational for about an hour
(de ending on the external antenna load).
1.3 How to use the meter
Start by connecting the LNB of the dish and then turn the meter On.
The instrument starts in the “EasyFind”-mode which makes it easy to detect the
satellite/s You are looking for.
Satellite
Searching

4
The unit has a reset-list of 5-8 selected satellites (de ending on where in the world
You are). Chose, by using the arrow Up/Down buttons, the satellite You want to
install.
The meter immediately starts to search for that articular satellite.
It is indicated with itch-tones from the bee er and signal strength indication on the
LCD-dis lay.
The signal-strength will increase on the signal-bar and the tones will be higher from
the bee er if any sat-signal is found.
The SNR and BER bars will be dis layed when the wanted satellite is found. The
text “LOCKED” will also be shown infront of the frequency. The NIT (Network
Information Table) will be resented if such is transmitted. Correct satellite
identification will be dis layed in three ste s:
* Identifying…
* identified ok ! (and some time also name, like; ASTRA or osition, like; 1W)
The BER (Bit Error Rate) should be as low (less errors) as ossible. The SNR (Signal
Noise Ratio) should be as high as ossible (the signal coming out of the noise as
much as ossible).
In order not to be confusing both digital bars should be as high as they can be.
Signal-level shall increase from left to right.

2. Menu
The following menu is shown on the dis lay when ressing down the “OK” button in
the “EasyFind” mode:
This is the Main Menu. Use the “UP”/”DOWN” buttons to scroll u and down in the
menu system. Use the “OK” button to enable the selected function.
2.1
> Pressing down “OK” when > ointing towards “EasyFind” will take You back to
the “EasyFind”-mode. In this mode You sim ly chose the satellite You want to install
(with U /Down arrows) and then align the dish.
2.2
> Pressing down “OK” when > ointing towards “Spectrum” will take the meter
to “S ectrum”-mode.
The dis lay shows the frequency s ectrum of 950-2150 MHz. The dis lay also
shows:
• Frequency start/sto .
• 13V or 18V.
• 22kHz on or off.
• DiSEqC (if any).

6
Pressing down the “OK” button in “S ectrum”-mode will take the meter back to the
“Main Menu”.
2.3
> Pressing down “OK” when > ointing towards “Beeper ON/OFF” will either
turn the BEEPER ON or OFF.
The idea is to hel finding the strongest signal on the selected satellite by listening to
the highest itch of the tone.
2.4
> Pressing down “OK” when > ointing towards “Favourites” will take the meter
to editing mode where You can add on or take away satellite- ositions from the
favourite list. Sim ly ress “OK” on the satellites You want to add/take away.
Selected satellites will have a “ * “ symbol in front of the name.
For saving, select “Save and exit”.
2.5
> Pressing down “OK” when > ointing towards “LNB Setup Menu” will entering
the LNB mode were You can chose between different LNB LO settings. Default is
UNIV-LNB. Change time when needed and then select >save and exit.
If no change is needed sim ly select “exit”.
2.6
> Pressing down “OK” when > ointing towards “Setup” will take the meter to
setu - mode. In setu -mode the below arameters can be adjusted;
- Lan ua e.
Chose between: English, French, Deutsch, Portuguese and Swedish
- Auto power off:
Chose between; 1 min, 2 min, 5 min, 10 min, 30 min and always on.
- LCD backli ht:
Chose between; On or Off.
- LCD Contrast:
Chose between; Lighter or Darker.
- Info
