incidenceangleforsolarpanelsandsolarwaterheaters.Thisdeviceisshippedfullytestedand

checkthebatteries(2x1.5V‘AAA’)intherearcompartment.ThemeterhasanAPOfeature
wherethemeterautomaticallyswitchesoffafter10minutesofinactivity.
ZerotheSensor
Coverthesensor,andpressthebuttontozerothedisplaybeforeuse.
RangeSelection
Shortpressthe buttontotoggletherangeofthemeter.Themeterdisplayrangetoggles
between0.1and1unitresolution.
UnitSelection
ShortpressthebuttontotoggletheunitsbetweenW/cm2andBTU(ft2*h);thelower
displayareawillshowtheselectedunits.
DataHold
Shortpressthebuttontofreezeorunfreezeareadingonthedisplay.
TestingSolarPower
WiththemeterON,zerothedisplayandthenpointthesensor(topofmeter)towardthesun
andreadthedisplayedpowermeasurement.Adisplayof‘OL’indicatesthatthemeasured
powerisbeyondtherangeofthemeter.

AutomobileHeadlightMeasurements
1. Turnontheheadlightsandshortpressthe powerbuttontopowerthemeter.
2. Facethesensor(topofmeter)towardoneheadlightandthentheother,recordingeach
reading.
3. Turnthehighbeamsonandmeasurebothheadlightsagain,recordingthereadings.
4. Retaintherecordedreadingswiththevehicleforreference.
5. ShortpressthepowerbuttontopowerOFFthemeter.
MeasuringtheSolarInsulationofWindows
Usethemetertotestthesolarfilmofcarwindowsortheheatefficiencyofwindowsin
residentialorcommercialproperties.
1. Turnonthemeterandzerothedisplaybeforetakingameasurement.
2. Withthewindowclosed,aimthesensortowardthesunandrecordthereading.
3. Openthewindowandaimthedevicetowardthesun,recordingthereading.
4. Comparethetwovaluestodeterminetheheatefficiencyofthewindow.Testthewindows
atleastonceayeartomonitorefficiency.

2. Slidethebatterycompartmentcoveroffinadownwardmotion.
3. Replacethetwo(2)‘AAA’1.5Vbatteriesobservingcorrectpolarity.Securethe
compartmentcoverbeforeusingthemeter.
Safety:Pleasedisposeofbatteriesresponsibly,neverdisposeofbatteriesinafire,batteriesmayexplodeor
leak.Ifthemeteristobestoredfor60daysormore,removethebatteriesandstorethemseparately.
Neverdisposeofusedbatteriesorrechargeablebatteriesinhouseholdwaste.
Asconsumers,usersarelegallyrequiredtotakeusedbatteriestoappropriatecollectionsites,the
retailstorewherethebatterieswerepurchased,orwhereverbatteriesaresold.
Disposal:Donotdisposeofthisinstrumentinhouseholdwaste.Theuserisobligatedtotakeend‐
of‐lifedevicestoadesignatedcollectionpointforthedisposalofelectricalandelectronic
equipment.
CleaningandStorage
Cleanthesensor(topofmeter)occasionallywithasoft,drycloth.
Periodicallywipethecasewithadampclothandmilddetergent;donotuseabrasivesor
solvents.
Storethemeterinthesuppliedpouch.
Removethebatteriesifthemeteristobestoredformorethan60days.
