Quick Start Guide
Thanks for purchasing ezcap271 AV Recorder. The following guides you how to set up. Hope this device will
bring you nice digital experience.
With ezcap271 AV Recorder, you can convert your old video tapes or camcorder tapes to digital format with one
click of button, record and digitalize video from VHS, VCR's, DVD Players, DVR's, Camcorders,Hi8,and Gaming
Systems. Ezcap271 AV Recorder records video directly, no computer required. Includes 8GB memory card inside, and
supports extra Micro SD Card input. Ezcap271 also can convert old music to digital format, and playback video, music
and pictures.
Features:
1. Screen.
2. Return –Return to superior menu. (save recorded file when under recording video or audio menu)
3. Direction and OK button –To operate the menu, and playback.
4. On/Off –Long press (2 seconds) to power on and off.
5. Audio Play Mode –Switch between 6 different play mode.
(Long press to remind you to delete the playing file or not when you play video, music or pictures.)
6. Record Button –In “TV IN”preview the video mode, press to record video (even without video input), press again to
stop and save file.
7. POWER and DATA –Supply 5V DV power with mini USB cable to charge battery, connect to computer to manager
files or update firmware.
8. Micro SD card slot –Plug Micro SD card saving record file.
9. AV IN –AV input connection with AV Cable.
10. HDMI OUT –Connect to TV monitor displaying.
11. AV OUT –Connect to TV monitor displaying
12. EARPHONE –Connect earphone to listen the audio.
13. RESET –Click to reset to factory default setting.
14. SPEAKER –With speaker inside, can listen to the sound directly.
REMOTE CONTROLLER
1. Record –In “TV IN”preview the video mode, press
to record video (even without video input), press
again to stop and save file.
2. Home –Return to home menu.
3. Direction and OK button –To operate the menu, and
playback.
4. Audio Play Mode –Switch between 6 different play
mode. (Long press to remind you to delete the
playing file or not when you play video, music or
pictures.)
5. Previously –Play previous video or audio.
6. Next –Play next video or audio.
7. Fast Backward.
8. Fast Forward.
9. Return –Return to superior menu.
10. Mute
11. Audio level up.
12. Audio level down.
Connections
MICROSD CARD
Plug Micro SD card into the slot with right direction as picture, the
screen will show card in when plugged.
For file safety, Micro SD card better be empty and format before
using, support FAT32, exFAT (does not support NTFS), MAX
32GB.
When plug in Micro SD, the media will automatically record to it
(not in inside storage any more)
If want play the media stored on Micro SD, make sure the default
path is set to “Card Memory”
To remove Micro SD card, just press it again, let it pop-up.
POWER, CHARGE AND DATA
To charge the battery of this device, use USB
cable to connect with 5V DC or PC, will see the
charge status on screen.
Connect it to PC, will see 3 options:
Power & Data
Charge
Charge & Play
Just choose one you want and click ok.
When you choose Power & Data, you can
copy the file out or in to the memory (both
internal memory and card memory), also can
update firmware of the device.
AV INPUT
Use the 3.5MM to RCAcable (come with the device in box) connect to the video source, such as VHS, DV, etc.
The 3.5MM connector plugs to the AV IN of device.
The RCA connectors to VHS, yellow = video, white = audio left channel, red = audio right channel.
When connect ok, at “TV IN”will see the playing video. Can record the video now.
Also at “Recorder”, can listen to the audio of the playing video, can record the audio with this connection.
Use a 3.5MM to 3.5MM audio cable, connect to AV IN of the device, the other side to the audio output of phones
or other audio source, also can record audio.
AV OUTPUT
Ezcap271 with two video output –HDMI OUT and AV OUT.
Use HDMI cable or 3.5MM to RCA cable (come with the device in box) to connect with HDMI OUT or AV OUT,
and another side connects to TV or monitor. When connected (no matter HDMI or AV cable), the screen of ezcap271
will turn off, and the video will show on monitor.
Don’t connect HDMI and AV cable at same time. If that, only HDMI output will effect.
Please do not plug or unplug AV (HDMI) cable when playing (playback video or audio, recording video or audio),
otherwise will caused problems --- will go back to home menu from the playing mode (playback video or audio,
recording video or audio).
Note: You can’t record music when you connect HDMI cable with device and TV.
EAPHONE OUTPUT
Connect earphone or speaker to earphone port, can listen the sound of ezcap271.
When you playback with own screen, plug earphone, the audio will cut off from speaker of ezcap271 and switch
to earphone.
When you playback with AV OUT, plug earphone, the audio will play at TV and earphone same time.
When you playback with HDMI OUT, plug earphone, the audio will keep playing on TV, does not play at
earphone.
Operate:
BASIC MENUS ON SCREEN
Long press (2 seconds) to power on ezcap271 (You may need to charge it if it is out of battery), will see:
1. TIME –Shows current time.
2. FUNCTION MENU, use direction button to choose icons, press OK to enter:
Videos –Enter to playback recorded videos.
Music –Enter to playback recorded audios.
Pictures –Enter to playback pictures.
TV IN –Enter to preview input video, and record.
Recorder –Enter to preview input audio, and record.
Setting –To set time, language, etc.

5. Capacity of battery.
RECORD VIDEO
Enter TVIN, will preview the connecting video, press ‘RECORD”button to record video, press again to stop recording
and save file. You also can press “OK”to record, press “OK”again to pause record, press “RETURN”button to save
the recorded file.
RECORD AUDIO
Enter “Recorder”, will preview the input audio, press ‘RECORD”button to record audio, press again to stop recording
and save file. You also can press “OK”to record, press “OK”again to pause record, press “RETURN”button to save
the recorded file.
VIDEO PLAYBACK
Enter to Videos - TVIN, will see the recorded videos, choose file with direction buttons, press ok to play.
When playing, use UP/DOWN button to set audio level, LEFT/RIGHT keep press to Fast Backward / Fast Forward.
Use return button to back to superior menu.
AUDIO PLAYBACK
Enter to Music - REC, will see the
recorded audios.
Choose file with direction buttons, press ok to play.
When playing, use UP/DOWN button to set audio level, LEFT/RIGHT keep press to Fast Backward / Fast Forward,
Double press to choose Previously / next sound.
Use return button to back to superior menu.
Use audio play mode button to choose mode: = Radom play = Radom and Repeat
= Introduction = Sequence = Repeat once = Repeat all
PICTURE PLAYBACK
Ezcap271 does not capture still image, but you can copy pictures to memory to view. Enter pictures—PIC to choose
and view.
DELETE FILE
If you want to delete the video, music or picture file, please find the file under Videos, Music or Pictures menu firstly.
And press OK to play, then long press “audio play mode”button , you will see picture –Confirm to Delete –Yes
- No, please select Yes and press OK to delete the file.
SETTING
Display - set Backlight time, for saving energy
Power Saving - set idle time and sleep time, for saving energy.
Date & Time - set date and time.
Language - set language of menu, ezcap271 with 7 languages –English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish,
Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
Enter Advanced:
Information - shows the Firmware Version and Memory space
Save Path - set the default path (Internal or card memory)
Note: this setting is only for playback. For record, will record to internal memory if no card in, and will only
record to card memory if have card plug in
Others “Format Internal Memory”“Format Card”“Reset Default Settings”are just do as it means.
