1. Before installation, read the UPS5000-E-(40 kVA-320 kVA) User Manual to get familiar with

UPS information and safety precautions. UPS is short for uninterruptible power system.

2. Use insulated tools during installation and operation.

3. Only engineers certified by the manufacturer or its agents are allowed to perform UPS

installation, commissioning, and maintenance. Otherwise, personal injury or equipment damage

may occur, and the resulting UPS faults are beyond the warranty scope.

4. This document describes how to install a single UPS. For details about how to install parallel

systems, contact Huawei technical support.

2Installing the UPS

1. Determine the position for installing the

cabinet. Mark mounting holes based on the

drawings.

2. Use a hammer drill to drill four holes for

installing expansion bolts and then install four

expansion bolts in the holes. Remove the bolt,

spring washer, and flat washer.

SecuredInstallation

4. (Optional) If the castors of the UPS need to be

lifted from the ground, perform Step 1 to Step

2 in Non-Secured Installation.

6. Remove the four rubber plugs from the bottom

of the cabinet (two on the front and two at the

back).

3. Slide the cabinet on its castors to the installation

position.

5. Remove the rear panel of the cabinet, and

then open the front door.

2. Check whether the bottom of the cabinet is

horizontal by using a level. If the cabinet is not

leveled, adjust the leveling feet.

Non-SecuredInstallation

1. Lower the four leveling feet at the bottom of the

cabinet by using a wrench until all the four

castors at the bottom hang in the air and the

leveling feet bear the whole cabinet weight.

The UPS5000-E-120K-F120 and UPS5000-E-200K-F200 use the same top cable routing mode.

Cable connection for the UPS5000-E-200K-F200 is used as an example.

1. The basic rule is to route cables from inside out and from the bottom up.

2. You can remove the small cable tray covers or drill holes on the big cable tray cover to route

cables.

If you need to drill holes, remove the large cover and drill holes. Apply grommet strips on the

hole edges for protecting cables.

7. Insert four M12x115 expansion bolts into

the expansion bolt holes in the floor, and

tighten the expansion bolts.

3Connecting Cables

1. This document uses cable routing through the top entry cabinet and two mains inputs as an

example. For details about other routing methods, see UPS5000-E-(40 kVA-320 kVA) User

Manual.

2. In the case of single mains, you do not need to connect bypass input power cables and remove

short-circuit copper bars.

2. Remove the cover from the power distribution

subrack.

3. Remove the copper bars between mains

input terminals and bypass input terminals.

The cover can be opened only if the

maintenance bypass switch is OFF.

4. Connect the ground cable to the UPS.

In the preceding figure, circled wiring

terminals are primary ones and must connect

to the ground cable.

1. Remove the small covers of the cabinet top.

6. Connect AC output power cables to the

output terminals N, U, V, and W on the UPS

cabinet.

7. Connect battery cables to battery positive

and negative terminals and neutral wires on

the UPS cabinet.

8. Route the signal cables on the left of

subracks along the left side of the cabinet

and the signal cables on the right side of

subracks along the right side of the cabinet,

and then bind the cables to the cabinet.

5. Connect the mains input cables to mains input

power distribution terminals 1L1, 1L2, and 1L3,

respectively.

Connect the bypass input cables to bypass

input power distribution terminals 2L1, 2L2, and

2L3, respectively.

Connect the N wires of the mains and bypass

input cables to the input power distribution

terminal N.

4. Remove the cover from the top entry cabinet,

install the connecting kit on the UPS, and

combine the UPS and the top entry cabinet

by using the connecting kit.

3. Remove the top cover of the top entry cabinet,

drill holes into the cover, remove the signal

cable tray cover, and reinstall the top cover on

the top entry cabinet.

If you choose to route cables by drilling holes,

install grommet strip to the hole edge to

protect cables.

If the top entry cabinet is used, check whether the

top entry cabinet is placed to the left or right side of

the UPS cabinet before cable routing. The top entry

cabinet when it is placed on the right side of the

UPS cabinet is used as an example.

1. Remove the right panel fromthe UPS and the

front panel from the top entry cabinet, and put

the panel and screws away.

2. Level the feet of the top entry cabinet to

make it in the same plane with the UPS.

5. Connect the UPS to the top entry cabinet

with short-circuit busbars.

Installingthe TopEntryCabinet

1. remove the cover from the power distribution

subrack.

2. Remove the copper bars between mains

input terminals and bypass input terminals.

The cover can be opened only if the

maintenance bypass switch is OFF.

3. Connect the ground cable to the UPS.

The following figure shows the reference cable

routes for the cabinet.

The basic rule is to route cables from inside

out and from the bottom up.

In the preceding figure, circled wiring

terminals are primary ones and must

connect to the ground cable.

ConnectingCables

5. Connect AC output power cables to the

output terminals N, U, V, and W on the

UPS cabinet.

6. Connect battery cables to battery positive

and negative terminals and neutral wires on

the UPS cabinet.

7. Connect signal cables to the UPS through the

cable trough in the top entry cabinet.

Install the cable trough near the front of the

UPS cabinet. If the cable trough is near the

rear of the UPS cabinet, remove it and install

it near the front of the UPS cabinet.

8. Install the panel removed from the UPS cabinet on the exterior of the top entry cabinet.
