AC VOLTAGE DETECTOR/FLASHLIGHT AC-9B
Read and understand all of the instructions and
safety information in this manual before operating or
servicing this tool.
Description
The Volt finder voltage detector is intended to check for the
presence of AC voltage, signaling the user with an LED on. Built-in
bright flashlight with ON/OFF button and audible beeper indicator.

Operation
The Voltage Detector is useful for the identifying hot and neutral
conductors, finding a break in a wire, and detecting the presence of
AC voltage at:
zOutlets
zSwitches
zCircuit breakers
zFuses
zWires and cables
Note: The voltage detector can be used to find a break in a wire:
zTo find a break in a hot conductor, trace the wire until the
signal stops.
zTo find a break in a neutral conductor, connect a load between
the hot and neutral. Trace the wire until the signal stops.
1. Test the unit on known functioning circuit or component.

zIf the unit does not function as expected on a known
functioning circuit, replace the batteries.
zIf the unit still does not function as expected, send the
unit to repair.
2. Place the probe tip on or near the circuit or unit to be tested.
LED and audible beeper indicate the presence of AC Voltage
from 200~1000 VAC (50/60Hz).
Note: The voltage detector cannot detect voltage on armored cable
or on cable in conduit, behind panels, or in metallic enclosures.

Battery Replacement
1. Disconnect the unit from the circuit.
2. Remove the battery compartment cove.
3. Replace the batteries (observe polarity).
4. Replace the battery compartment cove.
