INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Pro-Ject Head Box MK II

Dear music lover,

thank you for purchasing a PRO-JECT AUDIO Head Box MK II.

In order to achieve maximum performance and reliability you should study these instructions for use carefully.

Warning of a hazard for the user, the unit or possible misuse.

Important notice.

Connection to the amplifier

Connect the RCA/Phono sockets marked Out on the Head Box to the RCA/Phono sockets marked Tape In

on your amplifier, and the Tape Out sockets on your amplifier to the In sockets on the Head Box.

Take care to connect the left and right channels correctly. The right channel is usually marked red, the left

channel black or white.

Connecting the headphones

Connect the headphones to the ¼“ (6,3mm ∅) jack socket on the front of the Head Box. Use the control knob

to adjust the level to the required volume.

Please turn the volume level to minimum before connecting the headphone.

Minimum impedance of the head phone 30ohms.

Headphone replay

Use the input selector of the amplifier to choose the source you wish to hear. You may also have to engage

the Tape Monitor button, depending on how your amplifier switches sources to tape.

Mains power connection

The Speed Box is supplied with a power supply suitable for your country's mains supply. Check the label

before connecting to ensure compliance with the mains rating in your house. Connect the low voltage plug

from the power supply to the Power ~16V socket before connecting the power supply to the mains.

Potential incorrect use and fault conditions

No signal on one or both channels:

No connection between headphone and Head Box ore amplifier. This could be due

to a faulty plug, broken wire or solder joint or simply loose plug/socket connection.

Headphone does not work:

Headphone volume control is at minimum.

Amplifier Tape-Monitor circuit is not activated.

Service

Should you encounter a problem which you are not able to alleviate or identify despite the above information,

please contact your dealer for further advice. Only when the problem cannot be resolved there should the

unit be sent to the responsible distributor in your country.
