BEFORE THE FIRST USE
Check if the voltage rating on the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage.
• Remove any sticker or protective cover from the soleplate before using the appliance.
• Before the first use of the steam generator, use a damp cloth to remove any potential residuals
from the soleplate as there may be debris from the steam vents. Use the steam generator for the
first time on an old piece of fabric to ensure that the soleplate and the water tank are completely
clean. During the first time use the steam generator on a piece of a damp cloth to remove any
residue on the soleplate.
Note: To prime the steam circuit, either before using the iron for the first time, or if you have not
used the steam function for a few minutes, press the steam control button several times in a row,
holding the iron away from your clothes. This will enable any cold water to be removed from the
steam circuit.
• When the steam generator is used for the first time, some vapor may be emitted. However after a
short while this will cease to exist.
SETTING THE TEMPERATURE
• Before ironing make sure that the garment to be ironed is suitable for steam ironing.
• First sort items to be ironed, according to the International Textile Care Labeling Code. Iron
fabrics requiring the coolest temperatures first. Work gradually to the higher temperatures. Both
the temperature dial and most items of laundry have markings corresponding with this code.
• Check the garment label for the required ironing temperature.
• If you do not know what kind(s) of fabric(s) an article is made of, determine the right ironing
temperature by ironing a part that will not be visible when you wear or use the article. Silk,
woollen and synthetic material: iron the reverse side of the fabric to prevent shiny patches.
• If the garment does not have any ironing instructions but you know the kind of fabric in question,
please consult the following table.

• Fabrics which have some kind of finish (polishing, wrinkles, contrasts etc.) can be ironed at the
lowest temperatures.
• If the fabric contains several kinds of fibres, always select the temperature which corresponds to
the fibres contained in the highest percentage in the fabric. For example, if an article contains
70% polyester and 30% cotton, you must always choose the temperature corresponding to the
polyester and iron the article without steam.
• For woolen garments, press repeatedly on the steam control button to obtain short burst of steam
without placing the iron on the garment itself.
FILLING THE BOILER
• Place your steam generator on a stable, horizontal and heat-resistant surface.
ATTENTION: Do not unscrew the appliance unless you are sure that the appliance is unplugged
from the mains and that the pressure inside the boiler has been released.
• Unplug the appliance and unscrew the boiler safety cap. Fill the boiler with 1 liter of water.
• Fill the water filling cup provided up to MAX indication and fill the boiler according to the below
figure:
• After you fill the boiler, screw the boiler safety cap on tightly.
WARNING: When filling the boiler, never exceed the maximum water level marking MAX as
indicated on filling cup.
WARNING: Never place the boiler under the tap to fill it with water.
NOTE: Tap water can be used (see below: “Special Note on Water”).
• During the ironing process, always ensure that there is sufficient water in the water tank.
• Do not put vinegar, chemical substances or other cleaning agents in the boiler.
A SPECIAL NOTE ON WATER
• Your steam generator has been designed to operate using tap water. However if your water is
very hard, use distilled water.
• Do not add any type of chemical water in the removable water tank. Do not use water from
clothes dryers, scented or softened water, water from refrigerators, batteries or air conditioners
as well as rain water. In the above cases the water contains organic waste or mineral elements
that become concentrated when heated and cause pitting, brown staining or premature wear to
the steam generator.
• The use of these types of water will negate the guarantee provided with the product.
• Water containing sediments and alkalis will cause the steam holes and internal workings of the
iron to become blocked. The specially designed steam chamber and the antiscaling valve give
your steam generator and iron protection against furring. You can use tap water in your steam
generator, unless it is particularly hard and your iron is not fitted with an anti-calc filter. In which
case, the use of distilled water is advised.
• To guarantee the maximum life-time of your steam generator and iron:
• Do not use chemically discalced water.
• The harder the water use is, the more frequently the generator should be cleaned (see below in
section “Maintenance”).

required.
• For delicate fabrics, press the steam release button intermittently to avoid possible water droplets
appearing with the steam.
Warning: During use, the steam pipe and iron rest become very hot. Do not touch them in any
case, especially if you have sensitive skin.
Caution: The first time the steam generator is used some fumes and smell may be emitted. This
is not harmful and it will not affect the use of the steam generator. This phenomenon will
disappear rapidly.
Attention: Never allow the steam to flow out of the iron whilst it is resting on the stand provided.
• If the jet of steam decreases while you are ironing, the boiler tank is running out of water.
Attention: You should pay special attending when handling the appliance since the boiler is
always under pressure!
Caution: When starting the operation and regularly while it is being used, your steam generator’s
electric pump injects water into the steam generator boiler. It makes a noise but this is quite
normal. If you are pressing the steam control button while the sound is heard, you may lose a
little steam for a few seconds. Again this is normal.
Caution: You will hear a pumping sound regularly during steam ironing, as the water is being
pumped from the water tank. This is normal and it is not a fault.
Recomendations: To prime the steam circuit, either before using the iron for the first time, or if
you have not used the steam function for a few minutes, press the steam control button several
times in a row, holding the iron away from your clothes. This will enable any cold water to be

cleaning” regularly (once or twice a month) to remove any scaling or fluff.
- 8 -
ENGLISH

Attention: Before cleaning, ensure that the steam generator is unplugged and that the unit has
cooled down completely.
• Certain fabric finish residues may build up on the soleplate. These may be removed by cleaning
with a soft cloth soaked in vinegar water solution. Then dry with a soft cloth.
• Do not use any unclean or scaled products for cleaning the soleplate or the steam generator.
• Keep the soleplate smooth: avoid hard contact with metal objects. Do not scratch or damage the
surface of the soleplate.
• Do not place the iron on any metal rest as this could damage it. Place it on the iron rest on the
base unit.
• Wipe the upper part of the appliance with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaners as
they may damage the surface of the iron.
• Never immerse the iron in water or any liquids. Never hold the iron or the base unit under the tap.
• Do not put vinegar or other de-scaling agents into the water tank.
• To clean the steam holes simply use a damp cloth to wipe away any build up of lint or starch from
inside the steam holes.
CALC CLEAN PROCEDURE
• Unplug the power cord from the mains supply.
• Allow the steam generator to cool down completely at for more than 2 hours and make sure that
the water tank is empty.
• Unscrew the boiler safety cap (4) and add approximately 1/2 liter of clean water into the boiler via
the boiler opening.
• Shake the boiler for a few moments and then empty it completely.
• In order to obtain best results, we recommend this procedure to be done twice.
• Finally, screw the boiler safety cap back into place.
• How to get a professional ironing finish
• A normal iron generates only a small quantity of steam. In this case it is necessary to produce
steam constantly in order to eliminate crease in the fabric being ironed.
• An ironing system works rather differently. The fabric is first made damp by the steam and then,
in a second phase, dry-ironed in the normal way. This means that every tiniest crease is removed
and your garments are ironed perfectly.
• In the first phase (steam-damping of the fabric), hold the iron about 20 cm. above the fabric and
press the steam button. Pass the iron over the garment in a circular movement so that the
powerful jet of steam damps the fabric. Lightly creased garments require only a few moments of
steaming. While very heavy fabrics or garments with particularly difficult creases should be
damper, so steam must be applied for a few seconds more.
• During the second phase (dry ironing), check that the thermostat knob is in the correct position
for the type of fabrics; release the steam button and dry-iron the garment. The special ironing
plate will prevent the fabrics from becoming shiny. Using this ironing technique, and following the
suggestions in the chart above, you will find it easy to give your garments a really professional
ironing finish.
